this scene with big mom trying to find the cake was actually rather interesting. at first (when her hunger pangs are first introduced) you would think that she was just throwing a tantrumm like a kid; but then you see this scene, and how thin she got in just a few hours. her body burns fat and muscle so fast that she probably lost over 800 lbs in a single night. she's not an overgrown child throwing a tantrum, her body is literally consuming itself at an alarming rate, and her brain fixates on a single food item. imagine a craving, but instead of just really wanting something, you start a death timer. if you stranded her on an island during a hunger pang, she would probably starve to death in about a day and a half.

I love this scene so much because of the falling in the back thing. It's a paralel to katakuri falling in his back too, but also it pictures an interesting thing: not all fights in the pirate world are a matter of raw strenght. While katakuri is depicted being better and stronger than luffy in every excent, the later won anyways bc he demonstrated an stronger willpower than katakuri. Sanji in the other hand defeated big mom completly using her only weakness: food. He knew from the start that they could not make it out of the island without dealing with the major problem of being chased by a crazy big mom, so he defeated her in the most Sanjiest way: with a bomb of pure bliss, both his coocking and gentleman side combined. The fact he could have just poisoned the cake is enough to consider it a total loss to big mom, since how it was shown in the begining of the arc luffy almost die too by eating a poisoned fish, so we can take poison as a real thing in op world. Finally, as said before, sanji knew since the begining what they would exactly need to survive, and this is a recurrent topic in past's arcs: in alabasta with Mr. Prince, skypea with Enel's arc engine, water seven with robin, ennies lobby with the justice's door, and this arc that begin in dressrosa. He's always not two but ten steps ahead of the moment

Sanji is truly a kind person. Any lesser people would have poison her.

Big mom should be considered very lucky that she tasted sanji's cooking,if she knew who baked it she might even had a change of heart for the strawhats as well! Or try to keep sanji as a slave forever baking her treats for an eternity! I believe the second is at hand mostly. 😅

She's so shocked because she realises that she fucked up - if she played the wedding straight and didn't try to kill them, she could've had Sanji as her personal chef.
