Also, had the same crap happen to my AC. Old one completely crapped out. Got a brand new one and had the same problem you described. Luckily they came back out and did it for free but so aggravating lol
A capacitor is a reserve power source, much like a battery. It stores energy for the motors initial start up power. This discharges all at once to speed the motor start up and then recharges and holds that charge until needed again. Some capacitors can hold a reserve of 400 to 600 volts... Depending on the voltage of the motor. The old (tube type) TVs commonly reserve up to 4000 volts.

I don't usually comment on videos; however, I do enjoy your video's and felt compelled to leave a request. I have no problem with keeping carp to use for catfish bait as I myself do the same thing. My request is that you humanely dispatch the fish before throwing it in the cooler. Quick knock on the head and the fish isn't flopping around for 30 minutes dying a slow death. Really enjoy your content, you encompass southern hospitality. Much love from Western NC. God Bless.
I 100% agree. I hate it when people do that. It slightly inconveniences them to kill them so they let the fish suffer for how ever long as the fish struggles to survive.

Yeah because TH-cam would allow you beating a fish over the head on an uncut video 🤦🏻♂️ no different then fish dying on a stringer or throwing them in a bucket.
@@johnknotts885People do catch n cooks all of the time, where they show dead fish. I’ve also seen people stab fish through the head on TH-cam. I think if there isn’t blood it’d be okay, if you stab it then there’s probably a chance it gets demonetized. Better question, do you think he’d kill them off camera?
If I beat a fish over the head with a club on video, I will undoubtedly get demonetized. I will also have people complaining about killing a fish that way. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what I do or how I do it, some people are going to be bothered no matter what.

Those carp are good eating side. Some onions, butter, garlic and salt. Carp is a white fish so whatever you put on it it will taste good.
Ways of easily dealing with y bones are cutting upper and lower filets on each side, or drop filet in a blender and making fish cakes out of them. Carp are a much maligned fish in the US.
My favorite spot
Justin when I need little carp I always catch them with a small hook and 2 pieces of corn under a float. They are normally in huge schools. And I can see them and cast into the pod or in front of them.

I grew in California and fished for carp at night and the only thing we ever used for bait was worms. We dug our own and they were earth worms. It was so much fun!

Hey Justin, you can use that soybean meal in a feeder for catfishing as well .... I use a small bottle feeder that I made and it works well to attract stubborn fish that don't want to bite.
I get soybean meal from our local feed mill. I mix my own chicken feed. Soybean meal is a great source of protein.

The capacitor will hold a charge and shock you with the power off. You should discharge them before you unhook them.
That dark-colored carp looks like some of the carp you see caught out of English lakes. Very similar coloration.

I run a Newport vessel on my kayak 55lb thrust. It has plenty of power to go anywhere but it’s almost 30 lbs

In the spring in early months is when I catch the most carp on worms, I think it's a water temp thing.

Same thing happened to me , got hung up on my keel guard. Keel guard was lose on the front end . Still haven’t fixed it .

My capacitor went out on me and 1 TH-cam video later, 15 dollars and 20 minutes, I had it up and running with no shocks
Furnaces fans usually have 2 capacitors..a start up and run compacitors
Last Sunday I was fishing near johnson city and probably have the capacitor in the car that would have got you running!
I was getting gypped on shipping (like 3 to 5 days before stuff even shipped) for a couple years with amazon after being a long term prime member. Finally got pissed and cancelled. Resumed on a month to month after like 3 or 4 month to place an order and discovered I get the quick shipping again. Now I just cancel prime between orders. idk, might just be me or coincidence, but I dont use um much these days so this works for me.
As for your question to comment on: yes, and its mostly psychological, one negative thing happens and it starts the negativity bias wheel spinning.

Justin, I think the problem was all those other guys. They probably brought a banana for lunch. Plus one guy in the back obviously had eaten beans for supper.
This was a comedy trip it was fun to watch. Because unless you saw it nobody could believe this crap could have happened on one trip. What would have made this trip would be that fish still hung on the front of your kayak when you got back to the boat ramp. Gar got you at the end.
Haha! If that fish had still been attached when I got back, that would have made for one heck of a story.
Hopefully they used an American made capacitor. The Chinese ones fail to quick because of the way they are made. American capacitors are filled with hot oil and sealed. Chinese ones are filled with room temperature oil and sealed. This causes the Chinese ones to swell and fail when they heat up.
Hey Justin, the lake I primarily fish at is pretty shallow with a max depth of about 25 feet. What method do you think is best for that situation? Dragging, suspend anchored/casted ? Any input would be appreciated. Love the videos!
I would probably try a ballon rig this time of year. If it is hot where you live, there is probably a thermocline so the fish will be higher in the water column.

Daffine the dog, sorry for your troubles. Best dog for your lifestyle is probably golden retriever. I have a female golden, and she’s wonderful! Active dog, but very loyal and lovable animal! Males tend to be more playful, and easy to house train.
Do you have a video on how you make your pack bait. Do you drain the corn or not. What's your ratio for the panko bread crumbs to your corn
I use four cans of panko, two cans of corn, and a half a box of jello. I don’t drain the corn.
Pretty sure that turtle you were so confident with was a juvenile snapping turtle? They're a pain in the butt to clean but fried snapping turtle, biscuits and gravy is dinner at my house!

I watched the videos on the new Bonafide kayak/boat. I would like to see it in person before I formulate an opinion on it. It definitely has some cool features but the weight is a big issue for me.

Easy way to test the capacitor.....disconnect it from all wires, the stick it to your toungue..if you don't feel anything, you need a new one.
I don’t know much about this to be clear on what I’m about to say, but if you’re fishing for carp or catfish in an area with turtles, would it be a good idea to use barbless hooks to more easily unhook the turtles (and the regular fish ofc) and would you lose too many fish to be worth doing?
My friend lives on a channel that has a ton of snapping turtles in it, but I know there is a bunch of channel cats there as well (I live in Michigan) so I think barbless would help out a lot with the turtles. The turtles are the only reason I’m hesitant on doing it. Thank you for responding in advance.
Barbless hooks would definitely make unhooking turtles easier. It would be interesting to see how many fish, if any, were lost due to the barbless hooks.
That HVAC tech needs to discharge the capacitors before removing them. Take a screwdriver and cross the terminals. Easy. Then he won't get shocked
I personally think it would be cool if you would do a video from arrival forward with setup and whatnot. Just pop on the vest and tuck in the camera when you pull into to dock.
