Oooh that’s such a fun idea! I would make the pieces of wood slightly shorter, and maybe even use thicker wood to make it more sturdy as nail polish can get heavy. If you know how you want them to sit you can use wood glue to help keep them in place too ☺️
Damn Hermione, that rug basket is awesome! I've seen some beautiful patterned rugs at H&M I actually don't need-but I need a big beautiful basket - NAILED IT! THANKS
So lovely to share some time on a blazing hot Sunday, inside with some Hermione DIY's! I'm seeng the rug basket, minus the handles, with a round embroidery hoop in the bottom to make a round basket!
May I ask how you became so adept at using power tools, and knowing your way around painting, staining, sanding, drilling, sewing and the like? Are you self taught, or did you grow up learning from family? I'm a complete novice, I have no idea about any of that stuff, but I suspect I'd enjoy learning how to use tools etc, and would love to know how you became a dab hand. PS I adore the red hair on you, strawberry blonde is your colour, you look like a bombshell. A bombshell with a power drill!
Can’t speak for this gal, but I didn’t grow up in the same house as my dad or have any direct male influences for this, but I’m super nifty with this kind of thing too. My mum showed me a lot of things which I now really appreciate as I’ve always been able to do it better than boyfriends (lol) but it’s just trial and error really, video watching on TH-cam if you aren’t sure, then give it a go. Most things are about prep, just give it a go and I bet you’ll do fine! Think it’s just one of those things that seem scary Power tools.
@@jessH090 Love to hear that, thanks mate! Yeah, I'm not so much scared, I just want to learn the right way to do things (even knowing which power tool is best is tricky for a novice) but you're absolutely right - get in there and give it a bloody go! I'm going to buy a cheap power drill first, I think, and see how I like her.
Helena Angelina yeah girl go for it! With drilling, the thing you have to do is make sure you’re using the right drillbit for the material you’re drilling into. So there are ones for wood, ones for metal, ones for brick etc, but you learn little tips, like drilling into plaster can be done neater if you stick tape across the hole you are drilling. But you come to learn these things so just give it a go, and you’ll do great! Even if it goes wrong at first just try again. Good luck! 💞
On the hook shelf, if you use a little bit of tack (like photo tack) under the shelf and on the hook, it'll keep the shelf from shifting around but still easy to move the shelves when you want to switch it up.
I absolutely love the plant hanger, I must get me a couple of those trays to make some plant hangers because you can never have enough plant hangers, and I have over 110 plants and I need to be able to hang at least 4 of my new plants. Thanks Hermione I love your Ikea hacks, so yes please make more.
Enjoyed the video so much. Amazing hacks as always, and you looked prety too, that too as always. Keep making and uploading loads of videos. Love to watch them. ❤ Waiting for the next one 😛
Good job. W/ that last back add grommets or hardware like keyhole inserts so it looks more prof. done like ur other previous hacks & so it doesn't unravel on you.
Well done Hermione. Such a creative young lady. I love to watch your vlogs! Always something new to learn and such an inspiration. And how cool is it a girl with tools??? ☺️ Keep the good work and so good to see your channel growing... Love from Portugal ♥️♥️♥️
YAY!!!! A Hermione video ! Always love watching your videos . Wonderful ideas. I have the only IKEA in my state of Arizona not too far from me. Actually I was there yesterday picking up some goodies from their food market :) tfs 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
Love all your videos! They are amazing! Can you please do a video on how you care for your house plants!? Especially the Variegated Rubber Plant! Wow she is beautiful!
I love the shelves!! but they don't have that hook rack here in my ikea! :'( I might try it anyways with a different set of hook racks. If you put the bottom shelf one level higher, you could use the bottom hooks to hang scarves and bags and it can double as shelfs and hooks!
Lovely rug basket! Very effective. I would advise using some hammer-in eyelets where you thread the handles through to avoid fraying. It's an easy step to add and levels up the quality of your DIY project/advice! I was a bit confused about the usability of the door mat. The design is super cool but will hot glue and rope stand up to folks wiping their feet continuously on it, and if not, does this just ruin a perfectly good doormat? :') The shelves were very clever too! Some demos of using blu-tack (and maybe other sturdy alternatives?) would definitely have helped, but I understand you lost a bunch of footage - what a pain! Nice work Hermione!
The basket hack is brilliant! ☺️
The shelf looks really nice. As I was watching this I wondered if it could be used for nail polish and other makeup.

I love any excuse to buy a rug I don’t need 😅 a diy is a great excuse! 💕
Love this! My fave was the basket rug, so simple! Love the ikea hacks x
I could totally see the shelf in an entryway or as a little vanity situation! looks super cute!
It'd be so cute with a little mirror perched on it with a dish for keys tbh!

My favorite is the shelf and that it is adjustable. Good idea for adding more to make the wall of shelves. All good hacks. Well done.

I love the big blanket bag at the end of the video! It's adorable!! Thanks for the great ideas, Hermione!!
Love the picture shelf ..... ingenious....and the basket. More diys please. I'd love to see some outdoor / patio ones 😁
Tried the basket. Such a good idea !!!! Made it with a different rug. Stripes in natural colours. So good. Great channel !!!
My favourite Ikea hack from you so far is your headboard using a rug to upholster it.
Love the rug to basket hack but the front door rug looks like the rope will wear off easily when wiping your feet every day x
Love the shelves!! So stylish
Ooohhh the basket is beautiful!!
This was great. THe rug into the bag was brilliant!
I would add some nice eyelets (aluminum, brass or rosegold) to the poked holes in the rug basket. Looks neater and doesn't fray. :)
Would love to see some DIYs and projects for the outdoor patio and garden! Maybe outdoor solar light projects? Maybe a fun outdoor rug?
Love the basket idea 💖
