I love when you share the fails too. It is refreshing to see honest DIY's and not only what is deemed perfect. Your ideas are always wonderful! Keep the great ideas coming.
I love them all. For the mirror I would probably stick some flowers over the place you joined the ends together, just to hide that joint. Nice save on the lamp!
Ok. First of all, I love your confident approach to salvaging something out of that lampshade DIY. You are such a trooper and you get A+ for effort haha. What I love about this 'fail' DIY you chose to keep in, is that you own the fact that it didn't work out. I cringe every time the Sorry Girls make a project that turns out god awful, only to stand there and pretend they love it and it's so cute and awesome when you know it's about to fall apart or just plain looks terrible. Anyway, good on you for being real :) And the lamp looked great in the end!
Kaylie Mason do you have to foment about the sorry girls failures on every video? You’re always the top comment with the same thing I understand it’s frustrating but it’s getting pretty redundant at this point
@@jessicaenriquez5917 Honestly I think I've only mentioned them in one comment before this one? Maybe two? Maybe it's confirmation bias you're getting, because I don't think you're seeing the comments where I don't mention them lol. Also, the comment isn't for you, it's for Hermione, and as one of her main competitors on TH-cam would be the sorry girls, who are one of the biggest channels ATM for this sort of content, I thought she'd appreciate feedback that encourages her to feel on a par with them. Because she is!! If you don't like my comments then whenever you see my name, just don't read them? Not everything on here is for you.
The mirror looks gorgeous with round rustic edges .... a white charming and fun lamp cap make a pleasant atmosphere ... Seems an exciting knitting process with personal touch on a talented hands ... it's a comfort and lovely pillow cover ... Thanks Hermione for sharing lovely ideas for DIYs room decor ... Have a blessed weekend to you and your family ...
you are adorable and I love that you actually showed a "fail" = part of the process of creating...so many times I watch diy videos where everything apparently turns out fantastic with no effort and no hesitation, which is NOT my experience, I think it is way more useful and interesting to see the real deal...everything turned out pretty! keep it up Hermione!
Wow. You are so creative and clever. Even after that lampshade DIY, you kept going. You came up with a new idea and you executed it BEAUTIFULLY. I love your perseverance and you always make such awesome DIYs. Thank you for doing what you do!
👋🏻 Hello friend! I dig the way the lampshade turned out! And a floor cushion is always in style! I own a small motel and want to update/change the look of the mirrors in the bathrooms. That braid with the twine is something that would go well in our beach themed room! Thanks for sharing my dear! ❤️💜💚
A few months ago I wanted to make my own necklace holder that looked like a tree branch. My plan was to secure the end of the branch to the wall and have the rest float in the air. So a main branch with smaller ones on the left and right side. I started building a structure with aluminum wire but it was too soft and too flexible so I took some thinner wire and wrapped it around. I changed the shape of the branch like a thousand times I swear 🤦♀️ Then I used these plaster bandages to build up the tree branch which took SO long! But is was too dry, too heavy and it broke in a few places. So I had to remove ALL of it 😪 At this point the branch was quite heavy and I knew I had secure the whole thing to the wall later instead of just the end of it. 😑 Instead of small branches on either side of the main one there could only be branches on ONE side, the one that was not facing the wall. So I had to change the shape of the branch again. And for a while I was quite frustrated and left the project alone for weeks. Then I thought air dry clay could work but in the end it was to dry as well and cracked but it looked nice.. so I used hot glue to secure everything which messed up the smooth texture 😑 I also used tons of white spray paint on this thing 😪 In the end I accepted the rough look of the branch. Now looking at it hanging on the wall with all my necklaces on it I am quite proud of it, even if I had so many problems with making it 😌😆
Thanks Hermione, this was a fun video to watch, I love how you jumped back in and salvaged the DIY fails, and the saves I feel were brilliant, and so cool. I have had more than my share of DIY fails, and after leaving them for a bit have jumped in and redone them because I'm not letting something get the best of me, I just needed some space to regroup. I loved the wire shelf with the wood shelf, and the floor cushion was so adorable. Thanks so much for this awesome video, it was a fun one to watch.
That rope lampshade turned out so well! 😲 I would add more pieces of rope to it so that not as much light comes through, but other than that, I love how the frayed ends look! Also, that floor cushion is gorgeous!!! 😍 I definitely need to make some! 😃
You did a fabulous job of saving the lamp!!!! I hate to admit that I would probably have thrown it in the trash instead of trying again, but you didn't, and you made it great. I love the floor cushion also, and the tassels really made it look like a cushion that you bought in a store. I'm really impressed with the wire shelf too. You outdid yourself on this video. Loved it!!!
Like your braided rope trim on your mirror The lamp,is beautiful. Mistakes teach us what doesn't work. Done be upset about yours. We call make them lol I really like your metal basket idea. I have some meatpe shelves that I've been brainstorming. Your basket gave me ideas of how to use them for mini storage organizers. Thank you so much for your videos.
You are hillarious!!! You have become my favorite DIYer. Not only because of your jokes, but your personality and naturality about everything. Yes, I've also messed up when I made attempts to do something. But learned from them. Still keep it as a reminder not to make the same mistake, maybe I'll start over as you did with your lamp.
Wow!! Great job!!! So proud of u that u didn't give up and finished the projects! My first time watching. U r just the cutest!! So creative! Thanks for sharing. God bless u
Yay ! A Hermione video !!!!! I LOVED the floor cushion ! Such a wonderful, low cost way to make what is usually a very expensive item, for just a few dollars ! Loved it !!!! tfs 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
I have had a DIY fail on me on camera while I was shooting. I was trying out the hydro dipping technique for the very first time on camera. I had watched 10001 videos on the same so I knew I had done enough research. So when I dipped the clear vase in the water I had spray painted, the paints did not adhere to the vase. So i had to think on the spot and spray painted white on the vase before proceeding with the hydro dipping. So yes, DIYs do fail but we never give up. We just look for alternative ways to achieve what we want/. I love how you salvaged your DIYs.
I LOVE that you share your trials with us! (I don't want to call them fails bc you leared a lot doing them!) Thank you for being amazing, I adore your style and your videos and YOU BEING YOU
Great job!!!!! The DIY's came out great!!! Unfortunately, I have had DIY's I abandoned and others where I took it in another direction. Your content is awesome!!!! Gigi
loved the wire basket shelf ! there are these hook screws (I am going to call them that in lieu of their original name which I don‘t know 😉) - basically just screws with little hooks on the end. They might be even sturdier that using just regular screws because they can hook into the wire structure. xx
You are so funny 😃, the lamp shade had me laughing! I took one apart also but messed it up then threw a massive fit and tore it apart and tossed it in the trash, so good for you for sticking it out! Love your diys and thrifting. Much love from California ❤🤣
Just finished the video and you asked for our diy fails. I wanted to make a macrame plant holder recently, and I live in a tiny town so I had to use what I could from the hardware store which was hemp rope...which it turns out I'm allergic to haha. I was all itchy and my lips swelled up! It looked cute, but I opted for a cotton rope from a fabric store instead
I just discovered your channel after seeing you on Alexandra's channel and now this is my new obsession :) Love your style and how resourceful you are!
thanks for sharing your fail, and how u worked through it! it's a nice reminder that not everything turns out perfectly and to keep trying to make things better
Love the mirror...only problem I have with braiding is it never comes out like I want it to. The lamp shade reminds me of one I tried to do, that never got done. LOL Yours looks great. The floor cushion you made was fabulous. I would not be able to try it ...
I love your DIYARY and your styling techniques.... God bless you Hermione.... Lots of Love from India 💕💕 Waiting for your garden updates.... Hope you'll post it sooooooooon.... You're doing a great job thank u so much for your lovelyyyyy videos....
Loved all your saved failures. You did a great job at rescuing them. 👍 I was just looking at my DIY kitchen blind last night and thought 'tassels'. Thats what they need, tassels😺 Q: I need to lengthen the drapes in my workroom. Theyre at least 10cms too short. Do you have any fun ways to fix them? The fix might make a good DIY vid😉👍
At least you make the effort! I have absolutely no skills whatsoever and if I ever try anything I just stuff it up. That's why I watch your videos as I love your ideas :) The reality is that I have a new full apartment to play with but I'm not terribly creative :)
I can't describe to you how much I love you and I love your freaking beautiful videos ❤️✨I didn't find any one like you and make your videos and have your wihite heart and your personality and type of speaking in general I impressed with your videos 💡
Oh I for sure have DIY fails all the time. Usually I just roll with it or find a way to make it work. I rarely want to scrap a project because I already spent time and money on it!
Wow, I think I need to make a floor cushion! My pupper has her bed underneath my desk, but it is so big, that it's really in the way for me and my chair... What if I sewed a custommade floor cushion.... You really inspired me today, thanks! Oh, and love that you not only refuse to give up, but also show us your way through it all. Big hug from a long-time subscriber, that is rubbish on leaving comments.
Whenever I go to do a project my husband always brings up the 'button lampshade' incident! I pretty much had the same problem. Cut the old cover off and ended up with two pieces of wire that weren't connected! *Sigh*

Great
I really appreciate your honesty! DIY is all about trying things out, even if they might not work out the first, second or third time. It's real life!
I love them all. For the mirror I would probably stick some flowers over the place you joined the ends together, just to hide that joint. Nice save on the lamp!
Love the floor cushion! If you see a button through the center it’ll make a nice tuft and look even better! :)

I think the same thing about the Sorry girls. I followed them for a while and then I unsubbed. I could not stand the way they manage their Channel.
Same!!! I like some of their stuff, but a lot of the time I'm wondering how they can pretend they liked it.

your voice is so calming and all of these diys turned out so great!!
The rope lamp and bunny cage knickknack shelf are super cool!
