This little hobby of mine has been going on for nearly 3 years! 🥹 To celebrate that, I've compiled 10 of my favourite Ikea hacks into a video, that has been also requested by many subscribers. Links for all the materials have also been provided in the description box. I hope you'll send me pictures on IG @ccloudyhills if you recreate any of them :)
Hi! First time seeing your videos. I love home design & making inexpensive furniture look spendy! I really want to know what the computer program is that you keep using to mock up your ideas? I looked on your channel and I can't find the description of it anywhere. Would love to know. Thanks for the ideas! You are very talented :)
Hello! I use Milanote for general planning and moodboarding, which is free. For 2D mockups I use Sketch, it's an app that I already use for work in UXUI but the licence is pricey. I know there are some free 2D planners out there, you could just try doing a google search ☺️
I am just so impressed with your ability to think outside the box and see uses for these furniture pieces for something way beyond what they were designed for.
This is by far the best IKEA hacks video I’ve EVER watched. And I watched A LOT! The printed details at the beginning of each project is brilliant and very easy to follow and/or tweak to anyone’s liking. For a month, I was searching for a good specific size IKEA kitchen island to use in a walk-in closet and voila! I think this is the best tweakable island I’ve found 😍 Thank you so much for the amazing ideas ❤
This is amazing!!!! BUT PLEASE NEVER EVER WEAR GLOVES WHEN WORKING ON WOODCUTTING MACHINES!!!!!! WAY TOO DANGEROUS!!!! The Blade can get stuck to the fabric of your gloves and pull your fingers or hand OR arm into the dangerzone. I LOVE YOUR HACKS AND LOOK FORWARD TO BEEING INSPIRED!! Subscribed!!
That was actually useful. Practical yet aesthetic, not just putting random things together "because you can". I liked the basket under the hanging night table, and that the night table had so many drawers. In the end this is the most functional thing for next to the bed that I have seen, now I understand why my current night stand is useless!
My favorite was the last project, the room divider with the tension poles. My second favorite: the way that painting ONLY the inner shelves of the dark brown bookcases made a world of difference.
You CAN'T IMAGINE how happy I am finding you!!! I'm located in Belarus, not all Ikea's things are available here, but during watching I was like "Well, I know where I can find smth similar, WTF IDEA WITH EKET IS SO GOOD!!!" Thank you veryveryvery much for inspo!
You guys are amazing. Thanks for showing us even the little things because sometimes Ikea instructions are hard to follow using them the first time. You have a beautiful home. Thanks for sharing.
The moment I saw German words for the Holzlasur I knew i would finally be able to follow a tutorial to the T. Thanks for putting all the details in the video, including the exact products you used! I might actually head to ikea now to recreate the nightstands (not as nightstands but I loved what you did to them and I'll use them as little drawer compartments in my billy shelves! I subscribed!
I subscribed immediately. I LOVE how detailed this video is! You have all this new-age aesthetic music and filters and backgrounds and all the things I've been seeing on hack videos lol which is cute. But, the "hacks" you're showing are actually substantial changes that you can make in your house - and VERY well done. No shortcuts, no slapping things together that you otherwise wouldn't use if it weren't for the video. You worked so hard and put so much effort in every hack. I just loved everything about this. THIS is what "hack" videos should be. Thank you so much for sharing these ideas with us!!!!!
Beautiful! You are very good at what you do. You seem comfortable around power tools, you have an eye for design and make everything look so easy! I love them all, and esp the wardrobe turned wall divider! Ingenius! New subscriber! Can't wait to see what you fo next! Will go back and review older videos. Have a blessed day and a fabulous weekend!!
I love the kitchen island! I'm going to use your idea, though with wheels instead (you can get wheels with brakes from IKEA as well), so that I can push it out of the way.
So creative and beautiful ❤ And I love your way hiding things like the router and have an eye on balance of shapes and colours ❤ And having Wilhelm Busch books 😍🥰
Yay! New CloudyHills video 😊 Just wanted to say how inspirational I find your videos - so much so that I've finally got round to starting my own TH-cam channel! Thank you so much Hillary! 🥰
These are some of the best IKEA hacks i have ever seen! I will try some. I prefer not to drill holes in the wall so i may add legs to some of the pieces.
I love everything you do - very inspiring and creative. I have used some ikea pieces to update my pantry and my personal closet - but you take everything to the next level. ❤️
You're such a talented person. I love watching your videos and learned a lot from you. In another video of yours you mentioned about having sleep issues and in this video I noticed the router is in your bedroom. The EMF exposure could be higher in the bedroom and studies have proved that EMF can be harmful for our sleep and mental health. Just wanted to add my two cents :) Take care and please keep sharing your creativity with the world ❤
You‘re such an artist 🥰 Everything in this video looks so pretty and seems easy to follow thanks to your instructions. I quickly corrected that I wasn’t already subscribed too, thank you for these videos :)
It's interesting that a lot of these items I cannot find in Ikea like eg.Moppe chest (there is only mini chest which is 18 cm deep - not good for bed side table), or Platsa box (I don't know - nonexistent) but Billy and Besta is there of course for as long as I remember. Very inspiring video, thank you but so often you need all this equipment.
So incredibly awesome. I love how you don’t have to screw stuff and you can just snap them in. Where do you get products like that? Is it at IKEA where you buy them? You are very creative and have excellent ideas
A suggestion for the gorgeous Besta Bench Nook: if the board that covers the 2x4 base was cut to fit the full space, rather than just fitting under the Besta unit, the extra space on each side could also be used for storage.
You guys are amazing! I’m just curious, how do you guys clean up after? I noticed that you guys do a lot of cutting indoors and with all the saw dust that comes with that. Anyways I’m a fan 👍
I love it, any new video from you makes me so excited! I have a question about painting the IKEA furniture, especially the ones that come with a „glossy” finish like Platsa. I watched tons of videos with people painting the IKEA furniture and people complained that without using the right primer, the paint can go off if scratched. In your experience, did the chalk paint + top coat combo turn out to be a solid solution to it? 😊
For chalk paint, it definitely does scratch off very easily on its own, but with the top coat (Klarlack or Möbelwachs) it's so so durable. For other projects where I did NOT add a top coat, I sanded the laminated surfaces with a power sander with 180-grit and then used only LACK (specifically, I like Alpina Feine Farben Edelmatter Lack). I still have zero scratches or chips after almost 2 years!
I love your channel and your creativity so much! Do you have any videos on how you manage and store all your tools / equipment in a small space? I would love to do what you do, but it seems so difficult living in an apartment. I feel like you might have a clever solution!
If you have a spare room, I maximised the vertical space in my little room where I do my DIYs ☺️ th-cam.com/video/Oa6wiUkLfZg/w-d-xo.html This one is on making the organization more efficient and my favourite diy tools for beginners th-cam.com/video/sj4gFtkXQsc/w-d-xo.html

Amazing and beautiful all around. You make it look so easy! Love how you share all the how to's.

I love this video 😍
I would need a LOT more tools to recreate most of those! But we're in a small space and don't really have room for those!

I love the fact that you're showing us the hacks instead of just talking about it!
I learn by watching and reading, I cannot concentrate by listening at all 🥹
This so relatable. I dislike those videos where they just talk more than doing it
😢Yay, so agree!

Have to agree on this. Visual learning is what works for me
I’ve been an IKEA fan and amateur hacker for years. I love the things you do: so lovely and creative! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

This is the best channel EVER!! It’s great info without the chatty annoying extra! It’s DIY ASMR.
Thank you 🎉🎉🎉🎉
My favorite was the last project, the room divider with the tension poles. My second favorite: the way that painting ONLY the inner shelves of the dark brown bookcases made a world of difference.
I’m happy to see the German/European lifestyle shine through a different lens, thanx for sharing, it’s very special and inspiring.
Very satisfying and the functionality of each and every one is unique....to your home...your colours. Great transformations....😊
WOW the macrame on the lamp chord is brilliant!
Love it!
Смотрю видео всего 4 минуты,но я уже в восторге от твоих золотых и аккуратных рук❤ прекрасно

I am so proud of you! You are an exceptionally talented young woman! Thank you for your fabulous ideas.

I love what you guys did to the Billy bookcase. It lightened it up a whole lot. Really nice. I've got quite a few and isn't sure what to do with them.
You guys are amazing. Thanks for showing us even the little things because sometimes Ikea instructions are hard to follow using them the first time. You have a beautiful home. Thanks for sharing.
I remember the first time building an Ikea kitchen unit and I almost cried because it was so difficult! 😅
ikea was my first love as a kid :) this brough me so much joy! love your editing as well - absolutely beautiful as a storytelling medium.
🥰 Your comment means a lot to me, thank you!
I watched 1 minute and that was more than enough to know your content was more than a thousand times worth subscribing to!! 😍⭐️
You're so imaginative and skilled, these all look very professional! You've inspired me to start thinking about what I can do in my small space.
the kitchen island is an awesome idea! and the sideboard is to die for

These are the best IKEA hacks I’ve seen by a million miles! Beautifully filmed as well 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Your power tool skills are so impressive! And your calm.

You’ve got skills, dear 🙌 and love the way you share instructions.
Don't know why I'm watching this. I don't have any power tools or anyplace to have a workshop like this.
L🤣L ... Me either!!! I'm fascinated by all the power tools and her ability to use them! I wouldn't know WHERE to begin!🤦♀️
Love how super organised, neat you are. Your skills and innovation are very inspiring
The Besta bench with the shiplap is my favourite. I don't have a place for one, but will definitely keep it in mind!
I love the kitchen island! I'm going to use your idea, though with wheels instead (you can get wheels with brakes from IKEA as well), so that I can push it out of the way.
I really love watching all your videos. 🥰 They're calming 😌😌
Love all your diy tools! Such a good finish on your projects x
These are very clever. I’ve definitely got a couple of ideas after watching this. Thanks

It’s 3 AM where I am. I want to watch, but I will have to wait for morning. 😭
This is very clever and I adore how you see different uses for these objects! Very interesting!

Fantastic! I have been wanting to transform my entryway and kitchen. Your examples answered a lot of questions I've had. Thanks ❤
These are some of the best IKEA hacks i have ever seen! I will try some. I prefer not to drill holes in the wall so i may add legs to some of the pieces.
Yes, you do you!! I have a hard time finding nice furniture legs, that's why most of them are hung 😂
Hmmm..that moppe nightstand might be a new addition to my house soon, thats gorgeous and practical, thanks for the inspo🥰
It's wonderful no matter how many times you watch it.🥰 I love it💕
hehe ❤️
Wow! Tout cela est magnifique! Vous êtes très impressionants!

I like the warm beige better than the grey!
favorite is the room divider!

I'm just glad to see measurements in metric again.
Wunderschön! Manche Sachen sieht einfach aus aber es ist nicht so.
Vielen Dank für das Video.
Where is the gold lamp from? It's so beautiful! And I love all the diys that you did! Never disappoint.

I painted my shoe cabinet anthracite grey and ended up hating it too :') Very creative DIY's. Gave me some food to think about my own projects.
I was referring to your filing cabinet, not your shoe cabinet which looks lovely.
It ended up looking way more navy blue than a dark grey 😢 I love the beige much more now!
Wow...i love everything you've done and feel totally inadequate now 😅🇬🇧
KUDOS!! EXCELLENT JOB!!! Thank you for sharing your creativity!
Divno❤
Svaka čast mlada ženo.

Yes, that was such an afterthought 😫 After finishing the project I ended up cutting 2 more small panels to put on the sides 😂
