I am an adult (61 years old) beginner and started about 3 months ago taking lessons. It takes me a little longer to build up the courage to try, but with your videos, the way you break them down into steps is amazingly helpful to me. Thank you very much for making these videos.

i skate at whitley bay when im at uni and i can tell you the rink is rarely that smooth. idk if it's just because it's been a while since the video was filmed. it's a lovely rink despite that
I am glad you have made a video about 3 turns. This is more for beginners which I like. Although I still like your previous videos such as jumps and spins, those were targeted for intermediate/advanced skaters. It would be great if you could introduce a few skills in a sequence that could lead beginner skaters to do more advanced techniques.

I'm on hockey skates and i have always wanted to figure skate but my parents said that it was girly so i decided not to let that stop me 3 weeks ago i couldn't even skate backwards now i can do a toe loop and a salchow on Hockey skates

Luka Amechi That is sad. My son is like that too with my grandson. I disagree.
Luka Amechi try and save up to buy some skates or something. (Just an idea, not criticising if you can’t) . If you pay or offer to pay why shouldn’t they let you skate! Also very impressive! I can only do a waltz jump! :)
Im sorry but that’s bull. Doing single jumps in 3 weeks and then also on hockey skates 😂 couldnt even try and make it sound plausible huh
Simply Sookie its possible. I’m a figure skater myself and I’ve seen a lot of my friends who are hockey skaters learn spins and jumps on hockey skates. I don’t know how they do it, but I’d guess that they already have a lot of stamina and are always very determined and quick learners. Of course the jumps aren’t perfect and they do tend to fall or make small mistakes, but they can do them.

I coach basic skills through the single jumps and I always start with toe touching heel on the turns to begin with and then progress to free leg extended. What do you think about this? All the other concepts I do the same as you.
i guess when you become more confident you can extend the leg to make it look nice.
bublmidget I’ve finished with adult 6, and was learning three turns with tor touching heel. Now, the instructor has shown me to extend the free leg. It’s a little more challenging but it is more fun.

What is the differ3nxe between and outside 3 turn and an inside 3 turn ?
when you do a forward inside 3-turn, you start on a forward inside edge and end up on a backward outside edge after you turn. Then for forward outside, it’s the opposite
it doesn't rotate automatically, i dont manage to turn
I think you just need to push your actual blade on the inside to rotate but I could be wrong
You also have to twist your upper body a little bit (shoulders then hips). You'll "feel" like your foot wants to turn automatically.
