Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is a first-person shooter video game based on the film of the same title, with elements of hand-to-hand combat in third-person perspective. It was developed by Black Ops and published by Atari, Inc. for PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2003. An isometric shooter version was released for the Game Boy Advance on November 18, 2003. A puzzle game was also released for mobile phones. The game was also going to be released for GameCube, but was eventually canceled.
The video game follows the movie's basic story faithfully. Despite this, there are some inconsistencies in the game's cutscenes. For example, the Terminator is seen driving the RV (this leads into some "future" levels) and next he is driving the veterinarian van again.
The game utilized both the likeness and the voices of the movie cast. Arnold Schwarzenegger claimed he very rarely voices characters in videogames but he felt the game did the movie justice. - เกม

I don't trust even James Cameron's approval anymore. I mean, he said about Terminator Genisys: "I feel like the franchise has been reinvigorated, like this is a renaissance." He praises the movie that turns John Connor into a machine that goes against Sarah Connor and his father (and yes, this plot twist is revealed in movie's trailer). I don't expect much from the new Terminator movie despite James Cameron himself now directing it.

Can you do terminator 3 redemption, it's basically a waaaaaay better game than this and gives pretty good third person shooting and driving gameplay that take place in the future and present day (during the movie)
I actually just played it a bit recently. I can't say it holds up, and it's worse than I remembered. But It's not a horrible game, even if the checkpoints are absolute bullshit.
The part where you drive the herse in the mountain was always kind of crappy but yea other than that it was pretty good for a simple game

I could only find it on DVD at Wal Mart, but it was cheap. I watched it when it aired

Well, I loved the ground combat for sure. Ripping out robot hearts and using them as bombs is sweet. My only problem is too damn many vehicle segments.

The first 2 Terminator films had this sense of desperation and cold fear. The pratical effects in the first films really work especially portraying robots blowing stuff up

There's a scene at the beginning where the T-X kinda crushes a soldier with her hand into the wall, but its not really graphic at all....

It was really such a fun game till the infuriating final boss level. I hadnt realized prior to reaching that stage that how your ai peers jusge your combat skills in previous missions plays a huge role in how much they obey your commands. Which is why in the final boss, they would aleays kamikaze into the Thing against your orders and you would automatically lose. I could sadly never finish that level :/
@@sagniknath5537 Ah yeah you have to play nice with your team mates or they start ignoring your orders, I think it was a nice idea, but can see how it could be annoying with certain bosses etc.

The part where you discuss fighting the SWAT officers was interesting. When the game came out, I remembered that you could shoot the officers and it wouldn't kill them but instead leave them wounded.
the Sarah Connor Chronicles beats any of the movies that came out after Terminator to change my view. While the choice to play the new Terminator might have been a little less than ideal the acting was good, the story was good and the guy playing the bad Terminator was awesome

10:57 I did not remember that when I was playing the game; I recall being able to shoot at them and no matter how many times I shoot them, they won’t die-they’ll just drop their weapons and cower in fear.
I accidentally killed them plenty of times but had better luck shooting legs with the MP5. Until I used cheats and spammed tear gas everywhere lol

This is the first time in my entire life I've ever heard anyone negatively review Sarah Connor Chronicles. It really took me by surprise. I was genuinely not aware there were Terminator fans who didn't love that show.

Alright, I played this game when I was a kid. I remember you could shoot the cops and they wouldn’t die as long as you didn’t gun them on the ground. So I think the criticism at around 11:00 is off.
Although I think I understand the confusion, guns normally kill things when you point and shoot, right?
Wouldnt common sense say though they gave you guns so clearly its ok, hell even testing just once.
That part of the review is a bit weak, i always figured as a kid, it was like you use the pistol cause enough to wind them without piercing

Hotline Miami 1's police station level is more of a Terminator game than all of these + the movies after T2 combined.

In the 1970 movie Hercules in New York, Arnold's lines were dubbed. Ironic that 30 years later, the main appeal of this game is Arnold's voice acting.
We had Electronics Boutique here in the states and it was definitely a shit ton better than gamestop. Times were simpler back then

The Bethesda Terminator PC games were cool, Dawn of Fate was good, T2 Arcade game was amazing, The Terminator on the SEGA CD was awesome, and Robocop vs Terminator on the Genesis was badass! The worse thing in all Terminator projects is latest woke movie!

Bethesda Terminator FPSs anticipated the sort of design you see in Far Cry or original Halo, with some large, open maps and use of vehicles. They are criminally underdiscussed.

He doesn't know that the terminator she plays was a T-900, an advanced infiltrator that is modeled on a specific human resistance fighter. Their design is more towards deception over combat.
And I liked the Sarah Conner Chronicles.

It's time to tell the story of the second time I encountered The G-Man. I had been single and out of sex for years. My mate Dazza said he would pay and that it's time to do the dirty. He was also supposed to hook me up with some coke to get me jacked and in the mood but he said he got ripped off by some bloke and couldn't. Regardless, Dazza takes me to a high class brothel. Nervously I go in only to find out that ALL the girls were booked out. They said come back in an hour. I used this opportunity to try and get out of it but Dazza said we're waiting. Ten smokes later and a bit over an hour goes by, an I get told all the girls took the rest of the day off to recover. Confused I go to another brothel and the same thing happens. This time I ask what's going on! And that was when you walk out casual as with a stiff that could have knocked down a building. You give us a wink, stretch your back and we watch as you just stroll on out, straight into a lambo an speed off... I turn to my mate Dazza who's white as a ghost and he says. "Thats him".... "thats the guy that sniffed all me gear!!! I was in the bathroom at Jimbos and about to crack some and somebody taps my shoulder. I look over and nobody is there. Next thing I look back and some dude's casually leaned in and hoovered it all up. I'm standing there not knowing what to think and then he slick as fuck moon walks out of the room! ... That was him". We stood there quietly looking into the horizon as the sun went down and out comes the mistress of the brothel "Fuckin G-man... We really gotta ban that cunt as he always puts my girls out of commission. Sorry boys... Come back tomorrow" she walks back in swearing and carrying on and I look to Dazza for emotional support "where do you reckon he's going" Dazza keeps looking into the sunset "probably to a holster mate"....

I didn't realise Arnold was a t850 in terminator 3. Always thought he was the t800.
There isn't much difference between the T-800 and the T-850 besides a stronger and more durable endoskeleton, I believe. The T-850 is just an upgraded T-800.

My favorites are 1,2 and 5. I liked in 5 the characters would have memories of events that have yet happen. I liked the mystery of who sent the T-1000 back to the 70s. (I think it was the 70s)
This game was my introduction to Terminator on the original xbox when I was about 6, played it, viewed all the clips and concept art and played the demo for terminator redemption all over and over, it was my favorite game lol, didn't get to se any of the films for a couple more years

In the pilot episode, Cameron (yes really) shows up at John Connors high school and at first she doesn’t seem to be a terminator, until another terminator shows up and shoots up a class room that John is in, leading to a chase and then she shows up not being affected by the shots revealing she’s not human

I remember renting Redemption when I was a kid. It wasn't a great game, but I had quite a bit of fun with it at the time. Lots of pretty cool terminator damage effects, and the game tried to keep it's levels and set pieces pretty varied.
I remember shooting the swats in knee during the Mausoleum scene, without getting a game over.
You do get a mission fail if you shoot too much.

It's not so bad. It's a decent action movie, nothing ground-breaking but it's fun and entertaining if you go in with the right expectations.
Far too much comedy and they turned John into a complete loser. Although I will say the ending was well done.
Its not a bad film especially considering that its a film I watch again once a while. The problem is that its the Sequel to Terminator 2 so people's expectations were too high which lead to Terminator 3 falling downwards so its considering an average film in the franchise.

at 10:30, i remember lpaying this spot for fucking 3 hours because something was supposed to burst through a wall, but the game was so jank that it just never did. And i loved the terminator because as a wee lad, i watched 2 as soon as it came out on video, and as a young teenager, i diddn't want to give up, but it just never happened. The feeling of disappointment can still be felt today, 15 yearsw later.
Please do Redemption next! It was one of my favorite PS2 games!

I'm biased as a Terminator fanboy, and I knew how terrible this game was going in, but I actually really enjoyed this game. But man the glitches... During the level where you have to escape the Air Force base with Kate and John... Oh man.... They kept running into walls and against walls in place.
But I still had a lot of fun with it.
In fact, I played through it twice on both consoles (I own both copies) back in 2005.

This game was sadly the first FPS I've played, what a way to start.
when I played this game back in the day I would go back to play the fist fights because they were my favorite part of the game. My rose colored glasses really hit hard
Well this brings back memories. When I was VERY little I absolutely adored the movie for some reason, so my dad got me the official game. I honestly thought this was the peak of videogames at the time. Fortunately my dad got Halo and Timesplitters 2 in a bargain bin sale a few years after, so I eventually developed an actual taste in shooters.
I got this game when I was young and obsessed with Terminator. I enjoyed this game. But I also never got passed the first few levels. I really wanted Redemption but was never able to find it
I had this on the original X-Box. I remember when I was in sixth grade, the marketing for this film was huge. Posters, trailers, cardboard cutouts at blockbuster, magazines and comics. I still have the first two magazines and the prequel comics. It was at this time I got the first two films on a VHS Double pack and the third and watched them in order. I love the first two and liked the third. The Redemption demo always worked for me and I bought that for GameCube, hated it. Every level is time limit and you are always in a vehicle. It should have been called "Driver: Terminator."
The grave level I remember shooting Officers in the legs and it worked, they'd lay there holding their leg. The second half of the game which was from the movie I always didn't like, I'd always replay the future levels. It was fun for me as a kid and many hours I would spend playing.
Surprisingly the Sarah Connor chronicles is actually good but it ends on a massive cliffhanger:)

I played this as a kid. And i gotta say I loved the future levels. But I also remember dying a lot in the third person brawler fights, especially to the female terminator. It just felt like you can only pass these levels with luck.

I remember playing this at a friends house and were it not for the "present day" sections of the game I think i woulda had fonder memories of it.
The theme is also used at the beginning on the menu if you go idle on the ps2.

i played the game and that section where you cant shoot the swat, you can still shoot them and it will count as not killing them. And its very rare to kill them at all.

I remember liking this game when it came out but after playing it recently, I have to agree with everything you said in this review. I do think the future levels is the best part of this game and the fighting levels are the worst part.

Haha same for me tho it was Resident evil 1 on the gamecube. i started the game, walked around got to some stairs Heard Loud Lightning and zombie moans, and i turned of the console
minor correction; In the Mausoleum scene you can shoot every cop outright and technically "kill" all the SWAT officers, albeit when you do, instead of dying the SWAT officers fall and roll around holding their ankles as if you shot them there to disable them (possibly a cockeyed reference to when the Terminator shot the guard to the Psych ward in Terminator 2 on the ankle). The rest of your review is pretty accurate lmao i played this when i was roughly 8 years old and your analysis is spot on!
(13:29) The T-X is programmed to assassinate Kate (and John), but chooses to spar with the T-800 (T-850? T-101?) instead, while Kate and John are inches away with their backs to it. One running punch would likely do the job.
