    I think those who are already parents are really getting offended with others thinking in an opposite direction. But as a matter of fact, it is a personal choice, whether you want to be a parent or not.

    This is so true. Children are not for everyone. And when you say it loudly, there is so much judgment and questions. "Why can't you have children?" Etc etc. People just can't take another peoples thoughts, just because its different from the majority.

    This really resonated being a daughter with my biological dad not being part of my life since early childhood. I got in touch with him after about 20 years due to wanting to know him and it transpired he still didn’t want to know me. His father (who was there and didn’t recognise me) even questioned why I was there to see my father.
    People really need to think a hundred times before deciding whether to bring life into this world, if they want a child and why etc instead of it being a consequence of a momentary non thought out action. If the action was for pure pleasure only (which appears to be for the majority of cases in this day and age), then the world has given ‘protection’ to use in those instances.
    If a child is however born, take full responsibility where you can because you were part responsible for bringing that life into this world and the karma (direct or indirect) it can have on the parent and child through their lives 🙏🏼🕉

      I have the same exact story. We are better off without them, because the weight of feeling rejected isn’t our burden to carry. At this point in life, I actually feel pity for him. We could have shared a relationship, but it is his loss. I still have compassion for him.

      @@seabreeze1436 I agree. I carried the weight of rejection for so long and it creeps up sometimes but I have to remind myself it’s like this for a reason. I am Indian and I mention that because growing up I didn’t see many broken Indian families so I’d compare to others.

      @@hemp3303 I’m Indian too, I grew up in a similar environment. I was the only kid who had no father and grew up with people saying very cruel remarks. When I met him, it was like my fantasy of him shattered. I had to grieve. It’s tough. I feel for you. But, believe me it makes us more empathetic and strong. It’s really difficult, but I remind myself that although I have compassion for him, I don’t want to be him or emulate him. I get to choose who I want to be, and I won’t let someone who was absent in my life inform me on who I am or what I deserve. At this point in my life, even though he rejected me as his child, I also reject him in a sense-the person he has chosen to be.

    A new mom here. There is so much joy in motherhood and also lots of hardships, esp for mom. Other than physical and mental hardships, u go through an emotional roller coaster every now and then due to hormones or whatever. Also, you get to experience a LOVE u have never known. U alys keep striving to be the best version of yourself and try to be better person every day and be the best role model for ur child. Parenthood makes you a stronger person and it give u a deeper meaning and purpose to your life. I read some comments and people wrote some negative aspects of parenthood and I wanted to add some positive perspective as well. • @simranbhatia8614
    @simranbhatia8614 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    I love what he pointed out. We actually thought through all of these things before having kids, and yet each child shifted our lives in ways we couldn't have imagined despite all the thought ahead of time (in both good and challenging ways). And quite literally the only thing that makes this experience of being a parent slightly easier to navigate is being vulnerable with my group of Mom friends who are experiencing similar things - so I don't feel alone. Otherwise, the isolation and the amount of change to your identity that takes place as a parent can completely screw with your mental health.

      Yes we need to be respectful of everyone’s choice but I’m saying bashing general people because they asked when are you having kids is also incorrect (especially the older generation) that’s not on TH-cam or caught up with this notion. People ask because it’s a natural biological phenomenon that is tied to an age for women to conceive. Which is why they ask.

      Maybe next thing will be we should stop asking kids when will you go to school because how can we assume that they will go to school.. they might want to be an entrepreneur. When a person put effort and have sleep less nights to achieve in their professional life it is very much appreciated and said you are so dedicated and hard work, similarly it should be appreciated for child as well. Sometimes life is hard but we work through it, same is the case with having child, it will be hard doesn’t mean we should give up on it. That will make societies mature and for humans to become actually civil, psychology and mental health is the most important thing that all humans in this world in every country in every language should've known about by now.

    As liberating as it may feel, people without children eventually scramble to find support in old age.
    And before anyone jumps on me for wanting children to serve me, it's a natural part of the life cycle for any species. Even in the West, old people are taken care of by their children even if they're living in separate homes (which is ideal). Else there are community homes where again younger people are taking care of them.
    If you don't have your own children, you'll be hoping somebody else does and raises them well enough to want to take care of seniors in their old age (even in a paid job).

    • @_w.t.f_
      @_w.t.f_ ปีที่แล้ว +14

      There is no guarantee that your kids will take care of you. You might as well live the best life with all the money you might have to spend on that child (kids are expensive), or give that money towards an old age home and they'll take care of you.
      Trust me there are high facility homes and it's not sad as how it's portrayed.
      And somebody else raising them well? It's all business bro. Old age homes take huge advance payments for the service they provide. So yeah.

    • @hayaismail107
      @hayaismail107 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@_w.t.f_ read my comment properly. I never said that there's any guarantee your children will take care of you, but it's quite likely they will. And if you don't have your own children, it's most likely the children of your siblings or cousins that you'll fall dependent on. How many people do you know who live in old age homes? There's a growing population of old people with not enough young people to take care of them, however well paid they maybe (they aren't). Old age homes have to be run by people - young, healthy, sympathetic, capable people.
      So it's very easy to say now I don't want to be responsible for children, but then you'll pay the price for it eventually.
      Better to invest in therapy and work on your healing because you likely had a terrible childhood to not be parents and want to nurture children yourself. And then be a part of a community that supports parenthood and raising children. Become foster parents if having children biologically isn't possible.
