"it's only a forty foot fall, I'll be fine" is such a under-30-year-old thing to say. Love your explorations and seeing these formations. Hope y'all stay safe and take caution.

What a crazy drop after drop. I've been in a few caves from UP Michigan to the Ozarks and North Arkansas. On Guam there was a cave that someone had run electricity in the rear of a big room. We'd bring turntables big loud speakers. This was in 1967-1969. Our cave was at the bottom of a high rock-face six feet from the ankle deep clear Turquoise salty little pools along the shoreline. An earthquake or typhoon wore the rock-face loose, it fell ending a cave that was probably pretty ancient. There are caves everywhere. Two WWII soldiers hid in this one cave for twenty years, they did not know the war was over, bc it's so close to Viet Nam and the Air Base on Guam few back and forth and acted like a war. of the Western Pacific. I'm thinking 250 miles Southwest of the Island is The Marianas Trench (close , it's 200 miles, I had to check lol) . Guam is 900 miles north of the equator. It's the closest land mass to TMT (The Marianas Trench).
Been in caves on the Azores Islaand called Terceria. The Island is a Volcanic wonder. IMO. BUT I'm 100% sure I can't go where yall twins go. I hate when you get stuckish. lol.

Loved the flowstone, stalactites and stalagmites in this beautiful cavern! To balance it all, there's the lure of mystery; what lies concealed in the darkness around that corner, beyond that ledge or down that tunnel? How far do these passages extend or how deep does this pit drop? Always, however, there comes the possible scenario of descending into those ancient crawlways and chambers...and the question that could, in certain circumstances, accompany such a scenario: If we go back too far, or descend too deep, will we be able to find our way out again?
But, hell... you guys know your stuff and you keep sharing it all with us! Thank you all for the great video adventures! This video was one of your best ones!🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇

Have you ever pondered staying over night in a cave? Such that you can both go further, but also more properly explore it.
However, I do understand the logistical nightmare of needing to bring all the extra supplies, but I guess you are already bringing some reserve stuff with you.
I for one wouldn't enter a cave of these sizes without at least bringing with an extra liter or two of water (or a life straw), some food (mostly for mental wellness, however it is easier to physically perform when not hungry) a few spare batteries (however, a hand cranked phone charger would also be a solution alongside batteries).

The canyons form when water has found a weak area of the rock and cuts through it easily. They form shapes like a river with bends at an area of stronger rock and the water can't cut the rock so it just goes around it. Waterfalls form in these stream canyons at spots where the rock is very weak. The water is able to wear away a weak crumbly area of shale and it cuts down that area easily. So easily the water drops down to a new level

A way to remember a stalactite is one’s on the ceiling bc they hold tight onto the ceiling and stalagmites are ones on the ground bc u might step on them :)
I learned that from a Minecraft update talking about the new caves and cliffs update and somehow I still remember 😂😂
Also him calling the rope stupid-
The rope: ya know what I’ve had enough *snap*
😂😂 just some friendly dark humour :)

Start in caves without big drops like this one. You need to make sure you have the strength to get back out. If you can climb up things easily you will be good at caving. If you think you will need a rope to get up you will need a Harness. Go to pettyjohns cave it's easy to find with Google maps. It has a mild entrance room. Still extremely sketchy because of how slick the rock is though

You could also join a local grotto which are affiliated with the national speleological society. But those guys are uptight and won't want to teach you much. At least not very quick and they charge you money
