I have to say this is the best laptop device i've ever used. It was the perfect device. Lightweight, durable and very reliable. I actually used the laptop for 3 and a half years, and for a user like me, that's real long. I used it in the roughest way possible lol i mean I sometimes multi task with it and it will freeze, i bang the keyboard like hell ol maybe a hundred times? I've dropped it a 100 times too. Still worked as new. Thanx to Asus!
Can't be sure of this but Asus doesn't always actually solder the RAM when they state it's integrated as they tend to use that as a blanket coverage for both versions that do and do not get soldered. Probably because they don't want anyone to upgrade these systems. Like the 1025C in some countries at least is upgradeable and you can look at the upgrade video that netbook italia posted. It just requires complete disassembly to reach the RAM slot but that will of course void warranty.
Asus states this in the product page but it has yet to be confirmed. Some models are supposed to have soldered RAM but some have been discovered to still have the RAM slot. Like Netbook Italia did a upgrade video for the 1025C, which is also indicated to be non-upgradeable and has no RAM cover bay. So similarly needed the whole case disassembled to perform the upgrade, but this may vary per region and model.
They mentioned HD output but never really specified the numbers. Full HD can loosely mean either 740p or 1080p. Still a great netbook with amazing value either way.

However, I'd be wary because there the GMA is based on Imagination PowerVR SGX545 and there has yet to be any reports of fully enabled drivers for Linux. Even for Windows Intel has only released limited 32bit only Windows 7 drivers for the GMA that don't fully support things like DX 100% yet. Better drivers are suppose to come out later with W8 release though.
It really supports full HD, it can even handle Blu Ray in excess of 20Mbps bit rate. While the dual core ATOMs are good enough to handle most youtube 1080P HD despite lacking hardware acceleration... Since Adobe has yet to add support for the Cedar Trail GMAs. Though you do have to make sure hardware acceleration is enabled for proper video playback. While the Cedar Trail GMA also adds support for HDMI and/or Display Port (DP not yet taken advantage of in any model).
Technically yes, but Intel has only released 32bit Windows 7 drivers that still don't support full DX 10.1, only 9.0c, and it's the N2800 that's 3x... N2600 (1.6GHz) has the GMA 3600 @ 400MHz vs the N2800 (1.86GHz) with the GMA 3650 @ 640MHz. Support is limited right now and netbooks sales are slow. However, when Windows 8 comes out they'll release updates... N2650 (1.7GHz) and N2850 (2GHz), along with higher resolution screens as they finally start phasing out the 1024x600 screens.
No, only those with N2800 gets the extra features. This model is even limited to a mono speaker and seems to have a lot of cost cutting by Asus. At least one user complained of the hard drive being too loud as well. Intel also won't release better GMA drivers until Windows 8 comes out. Basically expect minimal support for netbooks this year, but next year should be different when the 22nm Silvermont ATOM comes out and finally gives a good reason to get a new netbook.
there is some problem when i play youtube videos full screen.... nd there is no option of minimise and maximise but only close at the right corner of screenof window....

well i dont own one of these but, many user eviews suggest it can play 1080p. And 720 p can be played very nicely. But some users report jerks during 1080playback. However other users say changing to vlc/wmp/kmp does the trick
I do agree that cedar trail is expandable,but this model of asus is not up gradable as asus has integrated the ram on motherboard. There is no user openable area in the laptop which can be used. do subscribe.

Does anyone have keyboard issue with this 1015cx? my keyboard often won't register keys i typed, especially in space bar.. *sorry for my bad english, I'm not a native english speaker..
gta san andreas is playable quite well...its good for travellers...i mean u dont wanna play high end games while travelling right ? but most classic games , little older ones can be played. max payne3 can be played . remember that this machine supports only upto DirectX 9.0 so DX 10 and DX 11 wont work here
