- Exactly one year ago, Lucas Etter broke the Rubik's Cube world record with a time of 4.90 seconds. He became a speedcuber in 2011 and strived to be on top one day. With support from other cubers, his family, and his friends, Lucas achieved his goal and found a home in the cubing community. This video, in commemoration of his world record anniversary, summarizes his journey these past 6 years.
I would like to thank everyone for helping me in some way throughout my cubing career. Even though I first competed a long time ago, I still have a strong passion for cubing and love to be a part of the community. I cannot wait to see how cubing grows in the future.

I feel bad for the next generation of speedcubers after this one. They won't be able to set any new records with any of the standard puzzles as all WR's will be practically unbeatable xD

This man is my role model. I wouldn't have started cubing if I hadn't heard of him. Not only for his 4.90, but his battle with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. My dad actually had arthritis on his shoulder, and they replaced it with some kind of mechanical ball. Lucas Etter is my inspiration for being a cuber today, and nothing would be the same without him. If you're reading this, thank you so much Lucas. You are my hero. :)

It is wrong because when you hold it like that that the yellow faces u and red is on too the blue should be on the right
Kakarotto back when Rubik’s cubes first came out it was blue on the bottom and yellow to the right of the red. Maybe it’s an old cube.
