Great vid. Shows how we're in a great period for people who care about their music. There are so many reasonably-priced, great sounding components, speakers, headphones, IEMs out there. Such a wealth of choices. With high-res streaming we have whole worlds of music at our fingertips for the price of a few cups of coffee each month.

Another great video! Keep it up. I'm looking forward to thousands more. I would really like to see a video, or probably series of videos, where you put this all together, starting with the Wiim Ultra and one or two Fosi amps, and either or both speakers (for comparison), and then add a turntable and a Geshelli Labs DAC later. Maybe even connect the DAC to Fosi Z3 with balanced connections, if that will work. Slowly start upgrading this system by adding in other components you like, such as the Kara preamp and upgrade the amps to Schiit Vidar or the Advance Paris X160, and some upgraded speakers from Q Acoustics or Wharfdale. You didn’t get the Wiim Ultra until after the Olympics, but I was hoping for a video titled something like “China makes France Cry” where you pair it with X160.

@Randy. Congrats on the 1000th's video and I am glad you went back to your roots for this one. Great all around! I do have a couple questions: Amplifier sound quality: How does the Emotiva TA-1 compare to the Fosi ZA3? DACs: I am on the fence about getting a Denafrips Enyo (Ares 2) or the Geshelli Labs J2 AKM4499. The Denafrips seems to be the better built of the two, but at $680 vs $460, it is much more expensive too! I know you don't have the Denafrips anymore, but how did the sound compare? Using the Geshelli J2 4499 STOCK, meaning no upgraded op amps. Was it as good as the Denafrips? Keep up the great work!
How wud u pair the Micca G2 ... For home theater ... For music listening? At an excellent value for money proposition that is realistic, without gear ego, for most people?
How about the Vanatoo Transparent One Encore Plus at $600 - Actually, $300 for the integrated amp with a DAC and $300 for the speaker. Then, pair this with the RSL 10E subwoofer and you got musical bliss at under a thousand!! - Actually, Vanatoo at the Pacific Audio Fest had this combination. While maybe not best in show regardless of price? It was definitely a best in show for music at under $10,000 system. Now that is a 'cheapaudioman' dream!!! - Yes, you got it - Maybe it is time to make a couple of calls and give us a review of this combination. Thanks
I have a Yamaha A-S301 integrated amp; it reminds me of the classic Adcom gear. It's a bit cooler and brighter. BTW the A-S301 has 5 analog inputs besides its MM phono stage and the 2 digital inputs.
Great channel! Do you have any recommendations for a smaller but decent sounding bookshelf speaker? I’m looking for something for my wife that will literally sit on her bookshelf and just provide some background music in her office, so small and inconspicuous but I’m an audiophile so I need to get something at least decent so that I can stand to be in the room. 😂
I tried out a couple last Monday - the Polk Elite es10, the Wharfedale Crystal 4.1, and the PSB Alpha P3. I brought my Topping PA3s and my cell phone with flac sound files - and the test was on. The Polk were the great disappointment for me in the listening room where I could compare all three of them. Polk lacked soundstage, instrument separation and had the weakest bass of all three. The Wharfedale had nice soundstage, much better instrument seperation, and sounded just well rounded and nice - but also lacked bass. The PSB Alpha O3's were it for me - bass that was absolutely unexpected and made the other two sound like toy speakers. Amazing soundstage, instrument seperation and the bass I was missing from the other two. Since this is my travel system, they had to be fairly light, compact - but still great sounding - and the PSB Alpha P3 became my speaker of choice at this point in time. I will get the Hasehiro UMU 131XS on Thursday - and I am eager to find out if they are any better than the Alpha P3's. They ship directly from the manufacturer in Japan. If you are interested I can give a follow-up once they are here and running. Cheers Mona
Now that i got my 1st marantz 7.1 system running w/Wharfedale towers i was looking to replace an old cheap Klipsch sub out. The RogerSoundLabs 10E sub sounds perfect for $300
Any advice on driving first gen Magnepans at low to medium volumes, on a budget, would be greatly appreciated. they sound muffled in a small room unless and until you go above 80db (estimated).
I have a very basic question about streaming audio from my PC to my stereo system and would appreciate your assistance. Please don't snicker, I am not well versed on this subject and simply need information. I have several thousand audio files on my PC and want to listen to them on my main stereo system instead of just my PC's audio system. I use Plex to stream my movie files to my TV that is connected to the same stereo system. My receiver is an Onkyo TX -SR505. What device can I use to get those audio files playing through my stereo at high fidelity instead of the muffled, unimpressive sound using an Amazon Echo Dot with the RCA line connecting it to the aux input? I do not know a "DAC" nor the myriad devices you have discussed. I have 500/500 speed in my wifi network. I also don't have several hundred $$ to spend. What are my options, or am I just out of luck? Thanks.
Don't forget the RSL Speedwoofer 10S MKII That is also under $500 @ $449. WOW 1000th video! Your the Man, Congrats Randy!

Nice job!
BTW the A-S301 has 5 analog inputs besides its MM phono stage and the 2 digital inputs.
yep...warfedale 12.3 too :)
Cheers

@@monamaier1965 Wow! I wasn't expecting such a thorough and thoughtufl reply. Thank you so much for your thoughts! Will look into the PSB. Cheers!
Check out the Fyne Audio F500 bookshelf speakers
Gratz on the one-thousands video! Hope you have a thousand more. 😋
Now that i got my 1st marantz 7.1 system running w/Wharfedale towers i was looking to replace an old cheap Klipsch sub out. The RogerSoundLabs 10E sub sounds perfect for $300
I picked up a Wiim Amp this summer and I want to get back into vinyl. How would I deal with the ground wire from a turntable using the Wiim?
I am so happy you don't say anything about politics. That is the only reason I subscribe to you....he he
🎉. ❤. I’m looking at the REL Tx subs do u like them w/ Polk R700s or REL Classic 98 99
Any advice on driving first gen Magnepans at low to medium volumes, on a budget, would be greatly appreciated. they sound muffled in a small room unless and until you go above 80db (estimated).
Congrats Randy! Are you still making the video with the wiim ultra and emotiva ta1 amp? Thanks for the great videos.
Just thought I would mention JBL new Stage bookshelf speakers and even the Studio 6 bookshelf's.
Thanks.
