    Great video ! Did you notice any issue while using the 4 CM method? Some people said that the tone of the real amp was affected. Tone lost etc...thank you :)

      Thanks for getting in touch Julien Fulco, basically yes I notice a difference but I didn’t find it bad, it’s because when you add the 4CM in, you are introducing a Buffer to the circuit & changing the frequency response. I didn’t notice as much of a difference with the Le Clean as my Amps but those amps are nearly 30 years old so it’s understandable. You can pretty easily manipulate the levels of the signal & add compression or EQ to this mode to tune it up though. - Lewis.

    I have a modelling amp, Fender Mustang original version, and found the hx effects to breathe new life into it with the IR option since the amp has a speaker intended to imitate multiple vastly different amps. I of course use the 4CM and have the IR in the fx loop at the very end. I personally use Redwirez BigBox X vintage classics.

      Also, thanks for this demo. Yours is the first one I could find that clearly showed exactly how you assign multiple functions to one footswitch. That's greatly appreciated.

      @@hpmguitar is there somehow to use head phones connected to HX for practising?

    • @hpmguitar
      @hpmguitar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gabrielromano9659 Because the HX effects is purely an effects processor - you will attach headphones to the auxiliary output of your preamp or amplifier.
      I hope that helps,
      Ryan

      @@hpmguitar yes I think the same,
      But if I return to HX by loop , should I use the output of HX?

      I guess all you could do is try and see if it works, and if it gives you a nice headphone sound that you like practicing with. Let me know how you go with it.

    Could you Use The 4 Main Buttons to Transfer Midi-Cc-Data (f.e. Changing pressest of another Midi-product)? Thanks for your Video.

    • @hpmguitar
      @hpmguitar  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You absolutely can! There are a few ways to transmit the MIDI CC as well. You could even assign multiple functions to the one button so you could select effects & send MIDI simultaneously.

    Great video! I have learned a few useful things from it. I have a question. I have a Boss EV-30 connected to it but even with the supposedly proper setup, I can only control volume from 0 to 100% from halfway to the end of the pedal travel. The first half of the way is always on 0%. Is that the best I can get from it? I dont really wanna buy the expensive pedal.

    • @hpmguitar
      @hpmguitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Mig-El! There is SO MUCH going on in these, I’m glad it helped you!
      I have used the Mission Engineering pedal with it the most & it works really well. When I used my Boss I had to use a TRS “stereo” cable to get it to work correctly. Try another cable just in case & make sure you go through the controller assignment steps. Not all expression pedals are created equally, some have different value potentiometers too so the learning step in controller assignment is important :) good luck!

    Great demo! Took a look at the blog for more info as well.
    I believe most units now have more functions than most of us need, and it causes the reviews to forget to test one VERY important thing: the tone/signal suck.
    I read you’re a Strymon guy (i got the Mobius and WANTED the Timeline (i use a midi controller), and was considering the HXfx + my OD/dist pedals instead.
    Questions is: do you think HXfx is on the same level of NOT SUCKING TONE as Strymon? Because that was the reason i left my Tonelab SE to begin with, even though it was slight. So i don’t want to create expectations.
    Thanks a lot!
    PS: i would use it in front of my tube amp.

      Thanks for the kind words Alexandre!
      Overall I do think that the HX range is up to scratch, I would suggest paying attention to the input block settings. You can adjust the impedance from very low 10k up to high at 1 Meg. There is also an Auto setting. Typically tone suck is a mismatch of impedance, a valve amp has a very high impedance (like 5 Meg) which is why many people will comment at the loss of tone & transient frequencies when not “plugging straight in” or into an effect like the Strymon or Line 6 at 1 Meg input impedance. You could invest in a good buffer to put before all your pedals to maintain a good relationship between your pickups & the first effect. I have used the Empress, CMAT Mods & some that I’ve built by hand but probably my favourite off the shelf is the ZVEX Super Hard On. A Klon/KTR/Wampler Tumnus would be a great option too, their buffer is very well regarded hence when people say their guitar sounds better with the pedal in the chain even if it isn’t on (not try bypass, buffered bypass).
      I’ve just bought a HX Stomp & will be filming some episodes on building a rig up just like you are doing so I’ll be sure to cover some of this in more detail when I’m going over the input block setting.
      Let me know if you have any other questions! - Lewis.

      High Point Music - Guitar Lessons and Gear Reviews THANKS A LOT for the detailed answer. It actually arose a nice discussion with my fellow guitar friends. I’ll wait on the HX videos to learn more. Now i wanna know the impedance of every little piece of gear i had over the years 😂👍🏼

    Great demo/Tutorial
    I'm on the fence regarding purchasing this. It seems to simple and effective. My only concern is reports of "freezing".
    Have you had any such issues?

    • @rwyatt2154
      @rwyatt2154 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It worked perfectly when we had it. And people we know have used the unit haven't reported any issues. However, probably just see how many reports there are with it freezing. I had another unit from a different manufacturer that needed a board change withing nine months. Warranty is a must with anything these days.
      Hope that helps, and if you do decide to buy it through our link or would be much appreciated. These sales help us fund our production and studio costs.
      Cheers for the comment and let us know if we can help.
