I knew beforehand about the connection between Circe and Scylla, and to this day I thought there were no details that expressed that connection in Scylla's song. So this makes me very happy! Eres un genio Jorge. Nunca dejes de hacer música, por favor, eres demasiado talentoso
Erm aksually it’s Circe’s lover that was attracted to Scylla, and circe didn’t like that so she turned Scylla into a sea monster (at least I think that’s the version of the myth Mr jalapeño is going with)
After hearing the song I thought that Circe had 4 nymphs and the one missing was Scylla. But after doing some research, I realized that Circe is not so good XD
Personally i like scyllas other origin story (child of typhon and echidna) but im actually glad you went with this one as it shows how much care and effort you put into even the most minute missable details you put this much care and effort into epic.
@@SantosoWijaya Nope, not this one. In Greek mythology, Scylla was born that way. She was always a monster. In Roman mythology, she was cursed to be that creature by either Circe or Amphitrite (Poseidon's wife) out of jealousy because the man Circe loved ("I have been in love once before~") loved/fancied Scylla (who was a sea nymph, I believe) instead. So we are, in fact, getting into Roman mythology with this one!
@@phoenixsword2452I think it was part of Ovid’s tales right? But honestly a lot of the stories we have of people turning into monsters (Scylla, Medusa, etc.) come from the Roman versions of their myths iirc

Dude I noticed this almost immediately when listening to the saga’s for the first time, I love the little returning motif’s, like the little details in the entire album so far are just insane! I love it! It’s genius!
I absolutely love how you explain things! I love the songs and I can not wait for the rest! I'm absolutely obsessed with EPIC!!! Keep up the fire work, Captain Jorge!!! 💚💚💚🔥🔥🔥
“There’s just so many things I just wanna do” Sounds like exactly something I said when I was maybe 10, and still agree with that 10 year old me to this day!
Unironically if you wrote a series of short stories of lore for characters outside Epic, so many people would love it!! We could all use more Jorge Greek mythology content in our lives I think haha
Please never lose your spark, Jorge. This chaotic energy? The way you talk about your creative process and the passion you transpire through it? THAT is gold, my good sir Jorgenborgen, stay bright! ❤
The mythology nerd in me is immensely happy you did a video on this--while I didn't initially notice the reoccurrence of Circe's motif (which is SO cool), I have been wondering about the potential connection between Circe and Scylla due to the original myth ever since I first heard the subtle lore hints in Circe's and Scylla's lyrics. I'd be super-interested to hear your take on the whole Glaucus/Circe/Scylla myth with your versions of these characters, and I'm all for any expansions of Epic's lore in general, whatever form they may take.
Jorge's passion for EPIC (all sagas) is such a joy to listen to!! Fantastic work, Champion of the Muses 😃 May you be able to write all of these stories one day. It'll surely be another EPIC!
I would absolutely love a tragedy about Circe and Scylla from you. You're one of the best Greek myth writers I've ever encountered, easily up there with Rick Riordan and the Hades writers.

I always took Circe's "ugh, Poseidon eh?" combined with "I have been in love once before" to imply that Poseidon and Circe used to be a thing, but maybe he broke her heart and so her helping Odysseus is also a bit of revenge against her Ex too.
