I am Russian, but I study blender only in your courses. The most understandable English for me, the most understandable explanation and the most pleasant voice))) Many thanx to you Grant for your work
Control notes for this video (this is just for my own purposes, but if this helps anyone else reading this, all the better!) - N in object mode to see details including scale - Scale is ideally 1, to avoid other numbers, either scale in edit mode OR press ctrl+A and apply scale - When scaling, press [X, Y, Z] TWICE to avoid distortion (there can be distortion but its very slight), this will scale it in the local [X, Y, Z] axis - Alt+R removes rotation (alt is often the "undo of many commands")
I love these beginner, lowpoly series! Even though im not a complete beginner anymore in blender (learned a lot in the last 2 months), still enjoy doing these simple projects. Very fun! And there is always something new to learn while following them.
The most informative and beginner friendly non-waffley tutorial I’ve seen for blender, this is my second time picking the software up and I couldn’t ask for a better introduction. Thank you sincerely for you awesomeness.❤
Oh wow, it looks so cozy! I'd like to think I'm past the beginner stage now, but this still looks like something I'd love to follow along with. Keep up the fantastic work Grant!
This tutorial is amazing. I really like the repetition of actions so I get it into muscle memory. It actually makes Blender a little bit less daunting. I'll be doing more of your tuts!
Hi Grant! Thx for the series, I can't wait to see it all! After completing the sea shack and adding my own twist to it I started a new scene all by myself in the same style, and I was amazed by all the tiny details that I took for granted but have stopped me multiple times and forced me to re-think my approach to low poly modeling. Buildings and the "order" in which you should build them is something that I haven't figured out yet, so I am excited to see this new tutorial just now!
This is so simple!! I've always wanted to learn how to build in blender but your videos have made it so simple and less complicated than all the other ones I've tried to watch.
Great tutorial! I like the way you teach it and loved the low poly cottage as well. Just for people struggling as me for getting the local space scaling to work by pressing the axis twice, make sure you rotate the beam in object mode and not in edit mode. I made the mistake because at 3:39 he went briefly to edit mode to show case how to scale from there.
This cottage looks so fantastic. It reminds me of game asset from video game I love. ☘️😸 I’m going to make my own modified version of that cottage by using techniques I’ve learned from you all these years. Oh boy, it’s going to be fun!
Grant, You are my hero. I am not able to thank you in a good way cuz I live in a country that I am not allowed for using the international payment system. Someday I will buy every drink you like, I promise.
Trying this right now ,. Doesn't look exactly like the video but slowly but surely I'll get it . Can't sleep so I'll have to check out the next lesson next .
ahh jeez... blender makes me feel like i have ADHD even though i dont have that. I'm having so much fun learning to model/sculpt i'm not even finishing 1 project. That last elephant tutorial broke sculpting down so easy I started to be able to make nice looking sculpts for the first time. I now have multiple unfinished sculpts and now i need to start this house. Simple but very creative and detailed... ahh jeez now i have to start this house and add more bookmarks to my blender tutorial folder... thanks for another great tutorial series!
Good time, sir! Thank you for this lessons. I'm wery stressed now, and when I listen this... So relaxed. And so easy to follow! Great job! P. S. Sorry for bad English ~
Oh so we are constantly gonna get beginner guides? Thank you man it means a lot to know that I could follow a master like you with various different types of exercise.
Hey Grant, have really enjoyed this one! Was a lot of fun modelling this style which reminded me of the old adventure games of the nineties like Monkey Island etc. ;-) Will post some first outputs on Discord. Thanks again for the excellent tutorial!
Already confused on step one. We keep the default cube? I thought you had to delete that. If you don't you risk summoning the Old Gods and no one wants that. Kidding of course, great tutorial as always. Going to put this one next to the well I made following another of you videos. Thanks!
i made things more difficult for myself (and my computer) by making a much more complicated cottage... i like it but it was quite difficult to get to the texture stage
Hey thank you for these great tutorials your doing, I was wondering if u have anything on creating simple characters, and then rigging them for animation, there's a lot of different playlist on the channel so I'm just making sure I'm not missing anything
Question, is this method, as opposed to the standard single shape poly modeling worse for creating game assets? It looks spectacular, but I don't want to make a load of assets like this and find out they're gonna have a ton of shading/rendering issues or be very un-performant.
Wow,he didn't delete the default cube and add in a new one! I'm envious of his self control!
Hahahaha, that's some next level stuff mate
Open blender, new project, delete all objects in the scene, add new cube
lol right!

I think I'm addicted to your beginner tutorials! In any case, they are fun and I'm learning something new still, so what's the harm?
