I don’t think drawing influence from social media is a problem. The problem is obsessing over outside gratification; doing what you think others will find cool, rather than doing what you find cool.
Tbh,we all need a break from social media, from the constant exposure to almost everything going on in the world. Sometimes getting a personality online seems so much easier than being your real self,smh

I agree with you as far as adults like 25+ but as for teens and young adults I think it's just part of growing up and trying to find someone to be apart of. Our parents were like that, our grandparents were like that, it's just more hyperactive now because of the internet.

I think she's speaking on the homogenization of everything. Even regions are losing their accents. The NY/Brooklynite accent is going away, southerners aren't as southern anymore and everyone is talking the same. This has been the effect of social media.

another great video chaurielle , i think due to how easy it is to become famous on social media by having a certain personality peopletend to copy the trends to become influencers and get brand deals and i think thats why alot of people have the same personality on the internet
