I foolishly got rid of my Bible. I fell from the church. I convinced myself that I never knew god and never believed in who he was. I’ve been begging god for months to reveal himself to me. I’ve been crying asking him why he’s forgotten me. Why he doesn’t answer me. I opened the Bible app on my phone and Psalm 13 was sitting in front of me. Sitting in front of me was the prayer I had been praying. Sitting in front of me was the desperation I had been feeling. I knew in that moment I needed to do something. I needed to change. I needed to shift my focus. I just had a baby and he deserves to know who God is. He deserves to know the love of Jesus.

I try not to classify myself as someone who’s addicted to social media, but as an artist who wants to go viral with their art, I find myself scrolling a lot through many artists’ posts and even envying them in my heart even though it is the Lord’s commandment to not do so. Anyway, I hope I can abstain from social media and that the strength of Jesus will be given to me through His Holy Spirit so that I can have more faith as well as live a more productive and holy life. ❤
I feel you. I'm a writer and I'd submitted my manuscript to this book publishing company and they agreed to publish my book, though they didn't reveal the date. It's so difficult for me to watch other writers have their books hyped up and celebrate these milestones while I'm still waiting for mine 😢 May the Lord show us both that our values are not in the eyes of humans but in the Lord's only and that is sufficient for us.
I spent a whole lot of time last year trying to get my account to "take off" without having to leave what's important behind. Thankfully it didn't work lol. Social media is not as grand as it looks when you take a step back. Same with anything, if you stop hyperfixating and just take a step back, you'll see how small it really is. Yet the grandeur of God never shrinks no matter where you are, if anything you'll see the depth of His being the less preoccupied you are

This is wildly timely for me. I have felt such a pull to get off social media. I recently deleted my personal Instagram and am ridding of my business Instagram account. I’m a Christian life coach trying to get the word out about my services so I can help people and support my family. But the Lord said that I don’t need to do all the posting I’ve been doing to have consistent clients, He said He’d look after it. So, I’m trusting God and leaving social media behind. Now I am working on not scrolling and filling my day with being in the secret place and doing things that need to get done. Thank you for sharing this and being led by the Spirit.
Such a timely message. It’s sometimes difficult to navigate, finding a “spot” on social media as a Christian, like sometimes we’re like “how can we make our daily lives work for social media, reels Tik Tok”. But Then you realise God had it all figured out, he will make “social media work for you”, he will pour into you His word for His people into us , he will cause our gifts to shine, and find ways for social media to benefit us without us having to sacrifice our relationship with him. Woah ok Lord I see you. I’ve been going through dark mental health struggles and it’s come to a point where I don’t leave my house. The only time I feel peace is if i distract myself on my phone. I realized I have truly become dependent, addicted to it. I do pray and read the Bible and spend a lot of time in worship but it’s like I am unable to just sit still and be with my thoughts. It’s a way to distract myself from my reality. And I have had that thought before “What would I do if I didn’t have social media/streaming services etc.” I’ve been trying quit these platforms and realize the time is now. For the fist time EVER I finally deactivated my insta, deleted tiktok and just have YT now. Been going 2 weeks and I don’t think I’ll ever go back. God is my healer, counselor ❤

This video makes me wish I took time to write down a dream I had not too long ago. My home church was being disrespected by people who didn’t have reverence and respect for God. I was the few who were able to submit to God . Your dream held similarity in the fact that people are removing themselves from His presence and placing other gods before him.
