Kenny Pickett may be the guy...I don't know. But, if the Steelers fail to kick the tires on all the available options...as a fan...that is what will be unforgivable. If you meet with Russ and determine that he isn't an upgrade or not the right fit...fine. If you talk to the Bears and their demands in a trade are too high...Fine, but make the call. All I am looking for as a life-long Steeler fan is do your due diligence. Don't just anoint anyone at this point.

My heart wants to go with Kenny, but my mind is iffy & my gut says no. I can get that Rus feels he should be the starter, but I'm not sure that his sense of entitlement is valid based on his decline the last few seasons. I still think he's the better option over Kenny at this point, but if he'd come in with the attitude of earning the starting position, & the Steelers would be open to not committing to a questionable QB & make Kenny earn it that this would be an ideal scenario to get the best out of both. That's just me living in fantasyland that used to be reality, when the Standard wasn't having consecutive winning seasons, but legitimately competing for the Lombardi. The Steelers organization has lost it's way, I'm worried that they'll stay lost.

I am steadfast in my conviction that the player we witnessed during his nine years in Seattle, a Hall of Fame caliber athlete, still resides within him. the problem was that the things that resided within him in Seattle were carried over with him to Denver..... his demands for his own office to separate himself from the locker room and his own teammates who he considered himself better than, his desperate need for self perpetuated PR and outside validation, his penchant for ignoring the design of plays/concepts of an offense so he could scramble around and "cook" and look for "moon shots" while wide open chain moving plays were available underneath BY DESIGN......there's a reason many of his own teammates and coaches didn't respect him as a leader, because he was CLEARLY more interested in "Team 3" than the Seahawks or Broncos

Not HOF caliber or even close. He has no awards, no MVP votes, and 1 super bowl win that came with the best defense of the modern era. And Russ was a whopping .5% of the cap for that. Once he got paid he's only had 2 playoff wins and was horrible in the 2nd half of every year since 2019.
Basically, if Russ is a HOFer then you by default need to add dudes like Rivers, Ryan, Stafford, and even Cam Newton. Cam has an MVP, broke the rookie passing yardage record, an OROY, OPOY, a 1st team all-pro, and better rushing stats than Russ.

Russell Wilson DID NOT go 8-9 last year as the starter. He was 8-7 before being benched. The Broncos also lost the first game of the season by 1 point after the infamous on-side kick called by the head coach backfired and let the Raiders score a touchdown. Wilson engineered a touchdown only to have the kicker miss the PAT. The same kicker Payton brought in from New Orleans. Meanwhile, the Broncos old kicker, Branden McManus went 2-2 on FG, including a 44 yarder and 2-2 on PAT's for his new team, JAX in week one. Wilson could have been 9-6 as a starter before being benched, if not for Sean Payton and his ego.

As a Steeler fan, I want the team to keep Tomlin until he retires from coaching. And I don't want Russell Wilson. I don't want Kenny Pickett either. Mason Rudolf is suspect to me but I'm more hopeful with him. I wish they had drafted a better QB. Lol. Which is what we all want our teams to do, right? Is what it is. How do you not know what KP is?? The Rooney’s are the only ones that do like Kenny No! Bring in Fields! Wilson would elevate the Squeelers from 9-8/10-7 to 9-8/10-7 . . . oh wait Conflicted 😮‍💨Russell Wilson DID NOT go 8-9 last year as the starter. Meanwhile, the Bronco's old kicker, Branden McManus went 2-2 on FG, including a 44-yarder, and 2-2 on PATs for his new team, JAX in week one. Wilson could have been 9-6 as a starter before being benched, if not for Sean Payton and his ego. Oh, my God, Rich is fine... I'll rewatch Suits... This will be the biggest storyline this summer if Russ & Pickett are competing for QB1 🔥🔥🔥I said before the season ended, that the Steelers should find a way to sign Wilson and Henry, so they can make a short-term Super Bowl run. Ugh. As a Steeler fan, I never thought this was what we would become. It’s like asking if you want Tommy Maddox or Tommy Maddox 🤦🏽‍♂Rich, the Steelers make sense for Russ! Probably be a damn good move.

Wow....that was quite a read brother :-) I liked it and totally agree with the team doing their due diligence. I believe Kenny's rib injury affected him more than he wanted to let on ....but it showed in his passing accuracy which was not what it was the year before or even last year before the hit. I have read in his draft notes that he is injury prone. That's a tough one to live with and while that isn't a personal fault, it is a worry. If we learned anything from the Jets, especially in this day and age with the D-Line doing the serious damage across the league, your back up needs to be almost as good as your Starter. One of the things the Steeler Office would be wise to consider is if there is a chemistry between Pickett and Wilson. Will Wilson mentor ....will Pickett learn? If the answer is yes, there would be a lot of added value to a move like this. If the answer is no.....what are we doing with Pickett? Tomlinson won't say it, but he knows he has to have a team that is at the very least a contender come playoff time. Lot of great teams... and the final 8 last season were all really, really good. I've never been a fan of Payton...post Bounty - Gate. He might have a great football mind, but he is small and petty inside. The true stars of this sport are giants both on and off the field. Go Steelers!

Kirk Cousins is 1-4 in the playoffs, which means he rarely leads teams to the post-season and loses when he gets there.
Why do these qb's with mediocre records keep getting all the attention. It is like sports individuals know these guys are bad, so they have to convince the consumer they are good.
Wilson, at league minimum over any available qb, is a no brainer to me.
