  • I've found Ido Portal's Squat Routine 2.0 very helpful to my practice. Here are his videos to which all credit is due:
    - Ido's first squat routine • Ido's Squat Clinic Rou...
    - Ido's squat routine 2.0 • Ido's Squat Routine 2.0
    Follow along on the easiest level suggested by Ido, 10 reps and 10 second holds in each of the four exercises:
    1. Single knee pushes / side + holds
    2. Sky reach twists / side + hold
    3. Double knee pushes + holds
    4. Buddha bows + hold
    (I accidentally mixed up the order so 3 came after 2 compared to the original.)
    Also check out the original 30/30 squat challenge by Ido:

      A good way to regress is to elevate your heels. and you can do only 5 of each, so once I've counted 5 in the video, you can simply stand up taking a break before jumping in again on the static hold of 10s.

    What are these exercise for? And can one hurt his back with it?

    • @fenderpleb2942
      @fenderpleb2942 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the one where you lean forward in the squat could be uncomfortable, other than that, go for it man! these target your hips.

    • @PeterHunter
      @PeterHunter  ปีที่แล้ว

      A good way to regress is to elevate your heels. This will help you extend your spine more which will feel easier. But rounding the spine is something you want to expose yourself to and help the spine adapt to! Like Fender Pleb wrote, the buddha bows are probably the ones putting most strain on the lower spine, so feel free to avoid or regress that one initially.

    above 55 yrs people may do this squat exercise, is it advisable

    • @PeterHunter
      @PeterHunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That would depend entirely on you - start slow, elevate your heels (books or something else) and notice how it feels as you do it :)

    Hello, my feet want to go outwards, would that still count?

    • @PeterHunter
      @PeterHunter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely! Don't worry about feet out, but make sure your feet don't turn out more than your hips, you can check yourself in a mirror, and the important thing to watch for is that the arches of your feet should continue looking just like they look when you stand up. So if the arches of the feet fall in, it means you pointed your feet out too much. If it's then impossible to sit without falling back, please elevate your heels!
