KAT is still bad in the playoffs don’t get me wrong, but he had some decent games in the playoffs last season. Randle on the other hand is just a disaster in the playoffs, he is an empty calorie scorer and complements no one
KAT was pretty good last year overall tho and he can learn always. He only did bad in the series they lost not the first 2 rounds. Randle game on the other hand is inherently team cancer. Even if he learned to not choke the Knicks would never win with him
@@kevinchang232 he’s having a career year this season. Just look at the wolves record vs the knicks. It might be a bit lopsided because Donte divencenzo is playing pretty bad this year so far.
Literally my teams problem. They never should have traded Kat. He was a key player. I thought the players looked up to him as a leader. He took the backseat so Ant could excel and when Kat was in the game he def helped them alot. Everytime we get a star player like Him or Garnett it always ends bad with them either getting traded or they request to be traded. The past 3 years or so we got higher up the ladder. And I really thought we would have made the championships this year. Then they traded Kat and I knew it was all over. You can't expect just one star player to change everything instantly. Even with sports being "scripted" to a point. Even when refs do their job terribly. You can still see a good team with alot of talent overcome hardships like that. And minnesota doesn't understand needing to build or take a couple seasons to build your players up. I'm still going to be rooting for my wolves but I knew the success that we had last year wasn't going to last (I'd like them to turn around and have faith but being a fan since Garnett and watching this thing happen alot. Go figured it would have happened again)
The problem isn't "spacing", it's the lack of skills. Take Anthony Edwards as an example. He wants to either dunk/layup or shoot a three. He refuses to shoot a midrange jumper and and cant figure out when to pass the ball. Plus, he's got the Embiid disease. He's dumpy. Watch him huffing and puffing and not running past half court at the end of games. This is what the AAU generation has given us with players who think that they're owed that big paycheck rather than going out to bust their ass to earn it. 🏀 🇺🇲
Not one of those things are true about Ant. He’s been taking plenty of mid range shots. And he just hit the game winner against Houston. Not many players play both sides of the ball like Ant does
The problem is julius randle sucks nd should not be on an nba team. He is melo that never had the talent a black hole that doesnt play defense with a bad attitude
Gotta keep in mind, when Kawhi was traded to the Raps he was coming into a team that already had high chemistry built from years of playing with one another. Chemistry does matter a lot and is the biggest factor NBA teams disregard
Knicks fan. You said what I love most about Towns, he ALWAYS gives effort. Sure he’ll make some dumb fouls but like I’d take that over being unfocused on both sides of the court when your shots not falling. I will always appreciate what Randle did for us and I think he gets too much hate cause he’s not even a good fit with the timberwolves as is
@RyuuseiBlizzard if you knew me you'd realize that's the second dumbest comment ever made. Yall just butthurt over a dude who don't even know you. I think I know why
@@jasonmccallop6605 Dirk's career high 3pt attempts per game for a season is 4.9. He just cannot compete against *elite* modern day shooters stats-wise. And if you *watch* basketball, you'd realize Towns shots threes of a higher degree of difficulty, and more versatility (stepbacks, pull ups, etc.). Not to mention that he beats Dirk in efficiency AND volume. It's not even a discussion. This goes with a lot of older shooters. They're great. They were pioneers. Put them in today's game and their shot profiles would potentially be different, however they did not play in today's game, so they don't compare in a lot of cases statistically. That doesn't mean the respect ain't there. But also means people gotta stop being stuck in the past. Shooting is one of the things that's quite quantifiable. And even if we take it to simply eye-test, KAT clears even harder as a shooter.
@RyuuseiBlizzard come on man. If YOU really watched basketball and knew the actual history you would know Dirk didn't shoot 3s like how KAT shoots 3s. If he did it wouldn't even be close.
Calling KAT the best shootng big isnt that controversial consodering how poor he is at standrad big man duties. He plays like a gaurd for better/worse.
This year KAT has been great in the pick and roll, and is leading the league in rebounding. Add a plus 40% 3 point percentage and that’s an elite player. He’s also a super underrated passer. He’s not a good defender at the 5 but he’s an elite offensive big
Kyle Anderson was an underrated loss for this team. He’s superfluous on the Warriors but really did fill a Draymond-like role with the Wolves: the non-shooter who could create space with cuts, passing, and IQ.
should have waited to make this video for when the title actually applies....like at the end of the season if things really fell apart. teams make adjustments early on and the timberwolves are trying to get their new pieces to work together the best and figure out the right rotations. Their defense is still really good. I like the additions of Julius Randle and Donte. Julius Randle is a much better threat in the paint and can create more opportunities for the offense. Kat going to the rim resulted in way to many offensive fouls because he just didn't have that finese. Randle is much quicker on the court and more effective i feel and is consistently getting 20+ points this season. He can't shoot the 3 like Kat does, but i think he makes up for that with his other play.
Classic overreaction in this video and the comments. They made a major move and it’s going to take time for them to figure it out. It happens with nearly every team that makes a big trade. It’s not even halfway through the season, and the west has been extremely competitive. They could go on a single winning streak and suddenly their record would look good and be among the best in the west. I’ll save my overreaction until later in the season.
I’m not ready to write the final chapter on this trade yet. It’s like my greatest ever rule. Wait until the player has been out of the league for five years. You’ll have a more clear picture. I’m hoping this plays out better than it looks so far. And we don’t know what will happen with Randle yet.
Ostertag with Stockton and Malone coached by Sloan, compared to Gobert and D.Mitchell (his early years) coached by Snyder. Ostertag better than Gobert for that? So Zaza Pachulia better than Ewing, Malone, Garnett, etc... Your way of seeing things is terrifying.
Aside from KAT trade, the problem is that the wolves are settling for 3pt shots and the team doesn't know any other play style. There is no floor spacing and they are all out here playing pickup ball. Hell, this is why the NBA is declining as well. Very few teams exectue plays that doesn't involve 3pts every play.
We were all wrong about KAT. He’s a much better player and person than we thought. End of story. Trading him highlights all his contributions on those Wolves’ teams, the stuff that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet.
You should have made a video about the Townes trade after it happened, being a Wolves fan and all. Why didn’t you? Ah you wanted to wait till well after it happened and to see it was an obvious bad trade. Thanks for the insight
They've won a few in a row but I'd be surprised if they won more than 45 games this season. Not a total disaster but the KAT trade was obviously terrible for the Wolves.
They should do a "my problem for your problem" with the Nets & trade Randle for Simmons, his contract expires at the same time and at minimum he's a better defender ball passer then Randle and can play a Bigger Draymond Green Role 1. Donte DiVincenzo 2. Anthony Edwards 3. Ben Simmons 4. Jaden McDaniels 5. Naz Reid 6. Rob Dillingham 7. Mike Conley Jr 8. Nickeil Alexander-Walker 9. Luke Garza 10. Rudy Gobert If it doesn't work, you can simply bench Simmons, and you won't feel bad about it
Julius and Gobert will never work on the same team. This was a disaster trade from the beginning. I understand it was a salary cap decision but they look like hot garbage now. No chemistry at all
Let's just accept not all team will be a champion every year. Stop comparing and complaining. Hopefully Knicks hopefully will win the chip this season.
Timberwolves have had one of the toughest schedules in the league, while the Knicks have had one of the easiest. Knicks have played 10+ more games vs teams below .500. It will all come down to the playoffs anyway for these two teams
There is no cutting or ball movement. Ant really struggles to make plays for other people, he has only had double digit assists 6 times his whole career. Even when they win, they take much harder shots than the other team. Randle is a head down, bully ball kind of guy that rarely passes out of doubles.
As a Blazers fan, I'd love to see Twolves trade Randle and some picks for Grant. I think it would flip the switch back for Minnesota and Blazers wouldn't have a problem pretending he's injured to keep him off the court.
The Wolves currently have no first-round picks to trade, other than a heavily-protected one they got in the Knicks deal. So unless you mean you want Randle and a bundle of 2nd-round picks for Grant, you're barking up the wrong tree.
@@rileymcphee9429 They can't trade the 2028 pick, because Utah is getting both their '27 and '29. The NBA won't allow trading out of the draft in consecutive years. They also traded their '31 to get Dillingham.
Damn if only the T-Wolves had a 7 foot center with the shooting ability of an elite 2, post up game of Shaq, and elite defense… someone like KAT would really help this team……. Hmmmmm
Let us not forget that the Knicks play in the bubble bath Eastern conference. It’s like the B division. Not to mention he is in a big market so gets all the attention now. Both are big negatives about the NBA.
Yeah, people were cutting him way too much slack. Now we stuck with a one dimensional big on the downside of his career and no draft picks. When I saw the Kat trade ...I'm like well at least we got a bunch of first round draft picks back. But no, only 1 heavily protected pick 😫
@@ckobo84 dude he sucked in denver too. Lucky with jokic. Every mock draft out there had Murray going top 7 and he fell to us at 7. Everyone knew how good porter was but it was risky because of his back and he fell to denver at 14. Most GM's in the league would have made the same selections in those positions. Connely also refused to trade barton for years and he was a bum. The nuggets and wolves are both in tough spots, traded away all our picks for average teams.
Imagine having your best season in 20 years than changing your franchise cornerstone player for the past decade just to save money , this is why losers keep on losing ....
I highly highly doubt they WANTED TO. But yeah, they only have so much money and they’re already paying people astronomically. Small market team with low salary caps = you can’t have everything you want. :(
Everyone wins the literal day or day after vids like these drop. Shows u that all the sheep are on the same wavelength. Which is great for bettors like me.😅
The problem is obvious. A one man offense and the one man is iso only, no passing required. That and wolves are a turnover machine. Tha's a Randle issue. But he's shooting well.
Nobody is ever in the paint!! Four people in the paint?? Haven’t seen that for 20+ years. He wants to throw up the three ball like the rest of the league. True basketball is done. They should rename it Three Ball and move on. The rules don’t matter, the fundamentals don’t exist, you don’t need a dominant center cuz they just sit out guarding the other big guy at the three point arc, the officials are a joke (particularly if you breathe on a Laker), the all-star game is ridiculously stupid, and the commissioner has let this game fall apart like it has. It’s a shooters game now. Nothing more.
I thought these players are soooooo good offensively than previous generations? How come they can't get to the rim without their bigs unclogging it for them??? Make that make sense
As a fan of Julius Randle but a bigger fan of how the wolves played last year, this was one of the worst trades in NBA history. Wolves flat out destroyed a team that would have completed at the top for years.
KAT is best as a 4 as he is not a rim protector, which is why Minny got Gobert. Both players are great at one end of the floor but not the other. Randle needs the ball but is not an elite player. He is very good but to maximize his value you need to run the offense through him and he is no great shakes on defense. In many ways he is a stat compiler, Minny just could not handle three max players under the pending CBA. Gobert should not be a max contract given he is utterly useless on offense. He has bad hands and takes up space, clogging the lanes along with Randle.
Tbh they just have to let them new additions play, this season's already lost so why not play Shannon and Rob, after all they were brought in for offense.
should never have traded Kat, he took the backseat so ANT could excel , would not expect randle to even consider doing the same
Kat streched the floor now the bigs can sit because theres no threat of 3 i really dont understand the wolves here

Might be time to trade him to the Celtics for Tatum.
Not one of those things are true about Ant. He’s been taking plenty of mid range shots. And he just hit the game winner against Houston. Not many players play both sides of the ball like Ant does
I can tell you don’t watch Ant if you think he doesn’t shoot midrange
You ppl were saying he's Michael Jordan's son last year 😂
The problem is julius randle sucks nd should not be on an nba team.
I will always appreciate what Randle did for us and I think he gets too much hate cause he’s not even a good fit with the timberwolves as is
We will win this trade. Randle had been good all season and now Donte is playing very well also
@JCStorm76 are you always this delusional or is it only with basketball
@@CheepsAhoy69 I will be right. When I am I’ll be back to remind you
KAT being the best shooting big may in fact be one of the worst takes of all time
you can’t even argue it, go ahead
You dont watch basketball
He’s superfluous on the Warriors but really did fill a Draymond-like role with the Wolves: the non-shooter who could create space with cuts, passing, and IQ.
they're quite impressive this season,i think they need 1 more star like J.Poole or Fox
should have waited to make this video for when the title actually applies....like at the end of the season if things really fell apart. teams make adjustments early on and the timberwolves are trying to get their new pieces to work together the best and figure out the right rotations.
I trust you bro, ANT WILL PUT OKC IN CHOKEHOLD🤣
3:14 “KAT is the best shooting big of all time” I think Dirk takes the cake for best shooting big IMO
strictly 3 point shooting it’s KAT, but dirks fade alone makes him a better overall shooter
Thank God that's just your opinion 🙏
If more videos like this are regulated the NBA will bounce back
I’m not ready to write the final chapter on this trade yet. It’s like my greatest ever rule. Wait until the player has been out of the league for five years. You’ll have a more clear picture.
I’m hoping this plays out better than it looks so far. And we don’t know what will happen with Randle yet.
Waiting to post this till the wolves are 3 and 0 in the last 3 is definitely a choice
Towns is awesome teammate his body language is awesome
I’m subbed my guy 👍 props from Russia!
Old heads ain’t going to get mad at you for that statement. Old school centers were never tasked with shooting until very recently.
Last year was a one year wonder for the Timberwolves
You made great points about KAT. I wish they never traded him
"KAT is the best shooting big man in my opinion"
And to think I almost subscribed.. lol
Bad owner is the problem. The organization needs to change.
Randal need to be on the nets , kings , Miami ,Jazz where he can play his own style
Ant and Kat had chemistry...Ant and Randle will soon have physics.
He need another star player to take pressure off him. Someone like De'Aaron Fox would take them to the next level.
Greg Ostertag is better than Gobert.
I mean, not really, but Ostertag made it to the finals with the Jazz twice.
Gobert just got his ass traded. 😂
Timberwolves winning a championship
They are still above 500 let's wait and see what happens man it's pretty early
Aside from KAT trade, the problem is that the wolves are settling for 3pt shots and the team doesn't know any other play style. There is no floor spacing and they are all out here playing pickup ball. Hell, this is why the NBA is declining as well. Very few teams exectue plays that doesn't involve 3pts every play.
The wolves coach is terrible. It all starts with him
Edward just keeps crying like a baby
No, he’s saying it how it is in the moment. The team has a lot of work to do.
send da video
@@chrisschaeffer9661 Randle is a ball-hogger.
Facts
@@Wolfywolf7You don't have to tell the media how you feel about everyone
We were all wrong about KAT. He’s a much better player and person than we thought. End of story. Trading him highlights all his contributions on those Wolves’ teams, the stuff that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet.
KAT never led the wolves to the playoffs, only as 2nd fiddle. He looks good in NY now bc they have Brunson, Mikal, and OG 3 borderline all stars
You should have made a video about the Townes trade after it happened, being a Wolves fan and all. Why didn’t you? Ah you wanted to wait till well after it happened and to see it was an obvious bad trade. Thanks for the insight
Who peed in your Cheerios, sweetheart? 😂
@@mosessupposes2571 you did now
They've won a few in a row but I'd be surprised if they won more than 45 games this season. Not a total disaster but the KAT trade was obviously terrible for the Wolves.
Thanks Minnesota for taking Randall and giving us KAT!
They should do a "my problem for your problem" with the Nets & trade Randle for Simmons, his contract expires at the same time and at minimum he's a better defender ball passer then Randle and can play a Bigger Draymond Green Role
1. Donte DiVincenzo
2. Anthony Edwards
3. Ben Simmons
4. Jaden McDaniels
5. Naz Reid
6. Rob Dillingham
7. Mike Conley Jr
8. Nickeil Alexander-Walker
9. Luke Garza
10. Rudy Gobert
If it doesn't work, you can simply bench Simmons, and you won't feel bad about it
Utah owns four of their picks till 2029. What a fleece
"Just pass me the Goddamn ball" - Anthony Edwards
9:51 not totally dissing KAT, but last year I remember so many games where he was in foul trouble in the bench.
trading KAT for Ladambuss Randall was an insane suicide move
Just subscribed
Julius and Gobert will never work on the same team. This was a disaster trade from the beginning. I understand it was a salary cap decision but they look like hot garbage now. No chemistry at all
They should have got rid of The other Center.
Let's just accept not all team will be a champion every year. Stop comparing and complaining. Hopefully Knicks hopefully will win the chip this season.
If the knicks win they will have to shut nyc down ❤ parrrrrtyÿyyyyy
I'm a Knicks fan and I'm very happy we got KAT but Minny is 16-14.. a disaster? 😅
Middle of the nba is basketball hell, especially for a team with no picks, and one that was a couple wins away from the finals. Yes it’s a disaster
That record might look really good if they're in the east unfortunately for them they're in the west
@@twincitiestara Fanspo says they have the 28 first still and a bunch of seconds. That UTH second in 2025 will be very valuable
@@rileymcphee9429 They can't trade the 2028 pick, because Utah is getting both their '27 and '29. The NBA won't allow trading out of the draft in consecutive years. They also traded their '31 to get Dillingham.
@@twincitiestara dang, thanks for nothing, Fanspo!
Grant is not better than Randle in any way
There's no way Edwards should be leading the league in three's when he should be attacking the rim mostly.
Mid season...there not a bad team. They match up real well with alot people. But they need more offense. Defensively they can shut anyone down.
Imagine giving up 4 1sts for Rudy and then trading KAT for a ham sandwich. Tim Connelly is a bum
KAT got a bad rap being around two alpha’s in Butler and Ant. Now he’s part of the most unselfish crew in the league and thriving… LET’S GO KNICKS
They never solved their PG problem. In 2024 Mike Conley is not a starter. And Randle is another story in itself.
The Wolves have won 9 of 13 games with all 13 games against teams with winning records.
Deadass and they only 3 games out of third
But the next two are OKC and Boston. Wolves have played the least games vs teams below .500, Knicks have played 10+ games more vs losing teams
Bro was called michael Jordan in a league where he isn’t even better than Donovan Mitchell.
They forgot jokic said "they where build to defeat us" and us includes kat
Rob Dillingham trade looking better and better for Los Spurs
Ant is fumbling my fantasy team lately
Give them some time to find a rhythm. Even the Knicks needed time to gel with KAT.
In many ways he is a stat compiler,
Minny just could not handle three max players under the pending CBA. Gobert should not be a max contract given he is utterly useless on offense. He has bad hands and takes up space, clogging the lanes along with Randle.
Kat was so perfect on the Wolves
Ant ain’t Lebron . But imagine LeBron, who’s strongest offensive ability is his drive saying “it ain’t there” the greats make it happen
Nah that kat trade makes absolutely 0 sense for the wolves only for the knicks lol
I always said to trade Rudy for a center that can shoot, space the floor
Yeah, that trade made no sense. I think they just didn't want to pay for kat contract in hopes of landing a big star later
Tbh they just have to let them new additions play, this season's already lost so why not play Shannon and Rob, after all they were brought in for offense.
