It’s been over 30 years since I’ve allowed myself to listen to this song. When I was 16 I experienced my first love. He was an amazing human being, athlete, and boyfriend. His last JV football game they played their rivals and won. And he was the reason. He was only 5’4” but he was awesome. After the game he picked me up. We just drove around.I wanted to go to his house but he said no it’s late and I respect your Dad way too much. He dropped me off. Two hours later his mother was pounding on my door at 1 am. He had been killed directly in front of his home by his neighbor who was driving drunk. He was just 16. It rocked my world for years. This song, was the one song he told me was his song to me. He said this is how I feel about you. 😢- Kristin

@@TheRepublican777 He was insistent on going home. He was very tired from his game. Even sadder, it was an old car and the seatbelt was broken. And the driver fled the scene.

Absolutely love your reaction. I’m an almost 63 year old daughter, sister, aunt, wife, momma and mimi (grandmother). What you said about love and marriage so true. My parents were married 65 yrs. Were they perfect? No, but you knew that they loved each other always and forever. My husband and I will celebrate 44 yrs in the fall. Our 4 sons….born in 81, 82, 83 & 86….have all been married and divorced. Divorces that we, as parents, never saw coming. The longest lasted 17 yrs, then 12 yrs and then 6 yrs. One is on his third marriage. Two are engaged to be married for a second time….. I am hoping and praying for the last time. The fourth will probably never marry again. We wonder where we went wrong as parents, but in the end have to remember that they are adults. They are responsible for their own actions, decisions and the results of those. Happy Father’s Day to you. Love in your beautiful family and enjoy your day. 😊

Bryan Adams...another Canadian legend. DEEP rabbit hole with him. Great live performer as well. He also co-wrote the Canadian contribution to famine relief with Northern Lights for Africa "Tears Are Not Enough". Lots of great Canadian talent on that one. As for Bryan..."Run to You", "Heaven", "Cuts Like a Knife", "Summer of '69"...all bangers.

My hats off to you, Sir. Thank you for standing up for your values and your convictions. I am a 72 year old Christian man, who spent the first 29 years of my life doing it “my way”, which destroyed a marriage and a family. I travelled in a rock band for 7 years and it cost me everything, them I drove to a church on my motorcycle with my black leather jacket on and my attitude. There I met my Lord and Saviour Jesus and I have never looked back. I applaud you Sir, for standing for something good, in a world that calls good evil. May God bless you and your family cheers from Canada 👍🙏🎸😎🇨🇦

I am 66 now. 34 years ago today we were gathering behind a massive wall of sand and rock waiting for the order to move out from Saudi Arabia into Kuwait and commence the ground invasion of Operation Desert Storm. This sog became our unit mission song because running headlong into enemy fire trying to liberate people who we didn’t know would be an act of selfless love. It still resonates with me today.

Man, the way you talk about love, your family and that you would do anything for them, made me almost tear up. It's true - many young people think that this is not for them, that this is nothing but a trope in "problematic" stories. I feel deeply sorry for those who never find that kind of love. I'm grateful I have found it.

@@KendraMorgan-ob2fr I feel truly sorry for you. I do, because I've been there. I was so done with love. And then .. If I would've told my younger self the story of how I met my husband and how we became a couple I wouldn't have believed myself. Maybe I needed to stop searching for love, 'cuz I've found it right when I reached the point of accepting, that it was going to be me. myself and I, and that was more than just enough, it was totally fine with me. Maybe it's true: You need to love yourself to be able to love someone else.
But it would've never occured to me to call anyone dellusional or unrealistic because they still believed in romantic love. These "problematic tropes" people nowadays call out a lot do happen in real life (I know, it happened to me). It's only problematic, if you take it for granted and if you think you also need exact this kind of feeling to be happy.
