You have a lovely family man, loads of smiles loads of great memories. Keep enjoying that family time dude. Safe travels and i hope you get some better weather whilst you're here. 🇬🇧🤝🏻👍🏻
Great vid ,one of the best I have seen. You talked about London Bridge falling down the one before the one you are standing on was taken down and shipped to the USA and rebuilt cannot remember which state sorry.
Tower Bridge is quite recent, only built in 1894. There has been a London Bridge since Roman times. More recently the bridge has houses and shops built on it and the narrow water passages considerably increased water flow. The bridge was constantly being rebuilt and the last version sold to the USA. Google London Bridge history and see the old bridge with shops, for yourself.
London bridge was sold to the Americans and it's the third biggest attraction in America and it's used as a bridge way back a group of backing musicians called "Bread", released a album , and made a song up about it London bridge part of it goes, they shipped it out of town, London bridge as fallen down at last that's what your dad is reminding himself of the nursery rhyme or this song Love mom
Sorry you had some rain. My husband and I and kids went a Couple of years ago. We’re from a different part of the UK. We had dry weather. Gutted you got some rain but I hope you had a good time.
London bridge has been rebuilt 7 times, since 11th century. At one point there were homes and shops on the actual bridge. (The bridge before this current one was bought by an American and is now near Lake Havasu, in Arizona. He thought he was buying Tower Bridge.)
@@grahamsmith9541 Interesting, if that is true. News articles, from the time say otherwise. Such a shame, if not true - as you will have ruined a funny anecdote! FUN
You missed HorseGuards and the Cenotaph, Houses of Parliament, St Paul's Cathedral, the Shard, The Royal Cypher above the Sentry Box for the Kings Guards, which your daughter was standing in, and YES, it is Tower Bridge and that up the Thames is London Bridge, that's why a Murican bought the wrong bridge and took it home and played Lego with it in Lake Havasu! And you missed the footprints on the pavement on Tower Bridge that tells you to walk on the left! It's to stop all the tourists from bumping into one another
London Bridge Started as wooden structures. Starting about about 50 AD. Builtvby the Romans. The one the song is about dated from 1209. Construction of Tower Bridge didn't start untill 1886. Opend in 1894.

Where is Newbury Park tube station located in London?
7:06 The dragon statue marks the entrance to the actual City of London. Dragon statues matk all round the boundary. It is run by the City Of London Corporation. That has existed longer than the UK Parliament. The City Corporation has a person titled the Remembracer. Sitting in Parliament to listen for any upcoming legislation. That will affect how the Corporation runs the City. The actual City of London is only 1.12 sq miles with a population of less than 10,000 people.
The London bridge in the song, the first London bridge was much grander, it had houses and shops built on it and the one before the present bridge! was pulled down brick by brick and moved to Arizona, US where it stands today.
This is the sort of kiddo I would like to do my holiday with what a girl You got to love her to bits ,good old dad,The cost of this was horrendous I'll bet ,but in your case every penny spent with your daughter was well worth it!!!
You were unlucky as the UK has had unseasonable weather this year. In fact, London is normally one of the driest places. If it does rain then it is usually for short periods, not persistent like we have been experiencing.
The london bridge was rebuilt 2 times. The original one was too narrow once london grew alot, and the second one wasnt made with cars and buses in mind meaning it had to be way stronger. The modern bridge is very boring. There was a miniature version of the most historic version of the bridge near there but forgot exactly where.
Broadway is in New York so it’s impossible to watch a show on broadway in London - unless you can separate your body into 2 and position one half in new York and the other in London
@@adamwynyard4065 I'm aware that Broadway where theatrical shows are staged is in New York City. (There is a small street called Broadway in London, but no theatres there.) As far as I can tell from Wikipedia, Matilda the Musical is a production of England's Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) which opened at London's Cambridge Theatre in 2011 and is still playing there (though I imagine with various changes of cast over the years). The RSC staged a production of Matilda at NYC's Shubert Theatre from 2013 to 2017 (with some of the original British cast members), so during these years the show was playing simultaneously in London and NYC, though obviously with two completely different sets of actors, musicians, etc.
its so weird you guys care about double decker busses theyre commonplace everywhere in earth but america i suppose. Theres nothing unique about them, mexico even is full of them.
The stonemasonry is always breathtaking. Sadly its not common nowdays since its way more expensive.

Just a point, Big Ben is actually the bell inside Elizabeth tower, not the tower itself 👍🏻😁
Howdy folks.

He did not think he was buying Tower Bridge. He negotiated the price in London, after seeing the bridge.

Where the Harry Potter and Mary Poppins stairs are is actually Leicester Square.

Worst summer (so far) in living memory.
It’s not always like this,honest!
Big Ben is the name of the bell, inside the clock tower.
The old London Bridge was sold to an American and was taken down stone by stone and is now in Lake Havasu in Arazona USA as a tourist attraction.
There’s even a movie about it where Jack the #Ripper was accidentally imported too!

It was Lord Nelson at the top of the column. Pity you didn't get to see Battersby Power Station after a 9billion re fit.
Its Battersea Power Station now an expensive shopping mall. Battersea Dog & Cat home & rescue centre is nearby.
Look at all those pedi cabs outside the theatre 😞
How can you see Matilda on broadway in London ??
Different casts of actors in the two cities.
Broadway is in New York so it’s impossible to watch a show on broadway in London - unless you can separate your body into 2 and position one half in new York and the other in London
