    Is there any difference between totalitarian regimes and dictatorship??

    • @pussy_destroyer2294
      @pussy_destroyer2294 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jason Bonaparte what you saying is incorrect.
      The difference is, Dictatorships are leaded by leader/a group of leaders. Totalitarian just means tight control on a civilian life and non governmental entities. What you describing as Totalitarianism is more close to Fascism. Fascism can be totalitarian, but it can be not totalitarian. Those are not mutually inclusive. Just like dictatorships and totalitarian governments.
      See this for better explanation:
      Dictatorship is a form of government in which the ruler has the power to govern without consent of those being governed.
      Totalitarian governments are those that regulate nearly every aspect of public and private behavior.
      Dictatorship concerns the source of the governing power (where the power comes from, the people or a single leader) and totalitarianism concerns the scope of the governing power (what is the government and how extensive is its power).

      Hi, Stefan.
      Italy joined first world war on the side of triple entente through Treaty of London(1915). Though it was the part of Triple Alliance (1882) - Germany, Austria Hungary and Italy. This alliance was the product of Bismarckian alliance. The Triple Alliance was an agreement between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. It was formed on 20 May 1882 and renewed periodically until it expired in 1915 during World War I. World War started in 1914 and continued till 1918. In the diagram it is clearly shown that how the product of Bismarckian alliance resulted into Triple Alliance and further resulted into first world war.

    Good lecture but you've left out something very important. That both where socalist states.
    See in Europe at that time socialism was very popular and the teachings of Marx and Engels where wide spread. Most socalist's before that time saw socialism as international. In essence trying to break the class system. And free the workers of the world
    For these parties as a way to distance themselves from the disastrous economic policies of the socalist's in Russia they would not try to completely redistribute wealth nor would they embrace internationalism.
    This is key. looking at history without looking at the economics of those countries you will come to false conclusions.
    You should do this again and put the Soviet Union up on that board taking into account there economic's and you will see there wasn't much difference in all three of them.
    But the difference was very important. Race, class and nationalism or internationalism.

    Edit: I made a mistake. Fascism was written as the ultimate form of democracy by the philosopher Giovanni Gentile and Mussolini. But over time, Mussolini changed to a dictatorship because he disliked democracy. My bad.

    • @TryBeforeQuitting
      @TryBeforeQuitting 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's because socialists think the state represents the people, so a strong state means a strong people and therefore the ultimate form of democracy (people rule)- because the state is strong. This is also why North Korea calls itself a Democracy - because they think they are one. Democracy to a socialist is not the same as for a libertarian.

This should be Fascism and Socialism explained.
