    a tour of this type of yacht should, as a matter of course, incorporate a test ride, as is the case here, so very satisfying viewing.

    I don't care what anyone says princess are number ONE in the yacht production side of the industry! Not custom builders to be clear! Stunning looking machines that eat up heavy seas and interior layouts and quality of finish! riva and pershing could argue number 1 but for me princess are the best! Happy sailing all 🛥⚓

    I love the decency and sovereignty of Princess. Their yachts have style, class and aren't garish or gaudy. I watch a lot of yacht channels and to me, Princess is my favorite. It's like they are following the class and style and yet groundedness of Princess Diana, if one can even make that kind of metaphor.

    one gripe about the main space - saloon and galley - : imagine a smoked securit glass partition behind the inside helm station and another one between the saloon and the galley. the partition on the helm side would have a mirror effect on the hem side, so the crew can't look into the saloon/galley area.
    now the owner doesn't just have their own staircase; they have a living space totally isolated from the crew. a regular studio flat. that, to me, would be priceless.
    Princess, offer that option: lots of people will go for it.

    I would change the crew cabin into tender garage as owner operator

    Thank you Jack. Nice seeing the Y72 out on the water. Interesting to see this model with fin stabilisation instead of a sea keeper gyroscopic stabiliser setup. Seemed like a smooth ride. Which would you prefer and why? This has been my favourite Princess since I first saw it, as it is big enough to accommodate 8, yet does not need crew and should fit most berths. It also has more refinement and features than the F70 (like the Boning system and better master cabin heads location along with intelligent lighting systems). Did that model have the electrically sliding guest beds systems in the twin rooms to make them into doubles, as I think that is a really useful system ? The handling seems very good. I would be interested in seeing how these operate in heavy seas compared to the displacement hulls and explorers like Nordhavn’s and Numarine 37XL types. I know these are more for coastal trips and the Med sort of party lifestyle, but still would be interesting to see what these can cope with. Again, thanks Jack for this tour and finally letting us see it in action ! 😊. By the way, love the drone shots !

    Beautiful - the " Fleming" of motor yachts INHO ! Great Drone video Inspires confidence ! Fantastic helm and the Boning system makes everything nice. Very nice to see Jack enjoying the sports ability of shafts and rudders. His scruffy self seems excited. Excellent crew space and proper engine room. Very carpacious Engine room. I wonder what this beast would do with the new CAT 32B engines 2,000 ( may 2400) HP per side ? Jack does love his finger holds. Beautiful color palette. Why would a dishwasher be an option on a 72 ft. yacht ? Absolutely beautiful. A a Yacht Porn Connoisseur Princess stands very tall - always excited to see a new Princess.

    Great review, I really like seeing the boats do what they do best and Jack showed us this. Interesting to see how the new Pearl 72 will compare to this. I think the Kelly Hoppen design and the large garage will tip it Pearl's way. We will wait and see. 👍👍👍

    I watch a lot of these boat and yacht channels and no doubt these ones are my favorite where you do the test drive AND tours in one and the fact that you talk about the bad about certain designs. Camera work kind of sucks though. I just watched the overhang description but they never showed it.

    Like Princess Yachts. But for owner operator, a tender garage would be much more appreciated than the crew cabin. With the S66, S72 and even the smaller S62 or V55 they are able to do that

    Great review as always. At the beginning you mentioned the stabilizers. This yacht had fins, or you could swop for a gyro. Why would you. What is the advantages of one over the other?

    • @hugoandreae3495
      @hugoandreae3495 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It’s largely a matter of personal choice but as a sweeping generalisation gyros tend to be marginally more effective at anchor and better suited to smaller, faster boats while fins offer more powerful stabilisation under way, on bigger, slower boats and don’t need any time to spool up to speed.

  • @theislandsc

    7:22-MAN uses the same engine block for the 1800,1900 and 2000 horsepower V12 and they have now added a hybrid drive for additional 500hp. I guess the maxed out the hull speed. I know most of the Italian built yachts will start to try and plow the bow under once you reach higher speeds.
    I worked on a Azimut 72s with a pair of MAN 1800hp and surface drives. The thing would try and drive the bow under at high speeds no matter how much trim tab or surface drive trim you’d give it.

    Been waiting for you to start showing some Princess models (YOU specifically, I like the Hugo, but he is just not a presenter and I hate passing when there are great boats on the channel!!)
    Why did you not include video during the ride in the rougher water? It would have been nice to see you driving form lower helm in the rougher seas, that would have given good info (not drone either).

    does a 'portuguese bow' automatically mean that the elevated structure contributes towards creating more head space inside? that would mean the VIP cabin on this vessel. I'm asking because I'd rather have a bare bow, with decking everywhere.

    Very nice but I think I prefer the new Pearl 72, huge space inside and that Kelly Hoppen interior is to die for , that 5 year warranty also would swing it for me albeit the Princess probably has the better brand name .

    Its a great MBY review as always with Jack and the Y72 is utterly gorgeous as expected from Princess ~ but its never mentioned ever how much in that day/ ,, week Full tanks Fuel cost? it cost how much £££ to fill up1000+ Diesel fuel Gallons/ 4500 liters into the fuel tanks? which if .. its great fun cruising at 30kts' .. ( which nobody in actually real life that pays for the fuel, does for more than 10 mins) not being a party pooper! but its the 1000lb gorilla in the room nobody talks about

    • @robocoppah
      @robocoppah 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doesn't seem that bad. Probably about 10000 to tank up on a 3 million boat. That's a 300/1 ratio. A car at 30000 might cost 30 to fill which would be 1000/1. The scale is not so outrageously different. But I would worry about the maintenance which could easily be 10% of the purchase price annually.

    • @miket939
      @miket939 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robocoppah You cannot fill up a 12 gallon 60lt fuel tank in a Saloon Car with diesel Cost £1.50+ Liter for £30! that's just 20 ltrs today, more like £90+ depending on Garage to fill up a Car (you do need to Triple at least, your Guesstimate, yes agree with £3m Yacht a £10k for 4.5k liter Tanks

    Never impressed with Princess interiors. There are such better design options at this price point. Just looks like a business Radisson hotel in there. Bland and characterless. As someone else put it, a perfectly suitable charter yacht. 6/10 for me.

  • @geraldryan8562
    @geraldryan8562 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    In my view, Galeón yachts are far better, yes built in Poland, but half the price of a so called Italian design factory whom charge extra because it’s Italian designed! This went out in the 90’s. Designer names never heard of, more money spent on items you get in Poland for half the price, in my experience why pay 500 Euros for a toilet seat, when you can get the same for 200? 🤔

  • @arvischilf2950
    @arvischilf2950 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry, but as usual you hear abt the nice this and nice that. You call it tough test? We all know what those boats doing in mild conditions like those. But pls put her into cross wave from front, back or side. Put her at least once into real tough condition, say 1-2m waves. The conditions what real boats only can laugh on, but speedboats with deep V hull will be scared already. So people really understand what to expect. The real life is that you dont want to go out in more than a 1m wave, not speaking abt side waves or crosswaves. Those boats are so limited on conditions of comfortable use and nobody really speak abt this... Just tired of those "tough conditions" presentations what really dont lie, but just dont show you whats really going on.
