I found I get the best effects by simply turn off DLAA and DLSS, but turn on all the shadow effects. And I have about the same FPS as before the 2.9 patch but it looks even better than it did. DLAA takes 10FPS from me, DLSS quality gives me between zero and 5 FPS extra but looks worse. so I just turned it all off, but turned on SSS and added secondary shadows etc. and it looks great and I get the same FPS as I did in 2.8 without the highest shadow settings.
Seems like what I expected...people with different PC capabilities and preferences will have different desired settings and results. FPS really isn't an issue unless it's too low. And that means?
Total bollocks
I did that in the past but I’m hearing it is a windows 7 legacy issue??? Have to check more into it.
After researching Win11 unparking cores, I realized that the millisecond needed to automatically unpark isn't a concern for most users. If you have adequate RAM, GPU power, and a decent system on SSD, the time it takes is not a factor for me. I can see how it might help others...thanks for the tip.
I would think your system with a 3080Ti and a 1440p monitor would not need DLSS. You’d probably get decent performance and better graphics without artifacts by just turning it off.
Probably so...I'm getting 10-15% more FPS with it on, but I'm not a big FPS nut as long as I'm getting no lower than 60s with everything maxed out if possible. Thanks for the tips and what an amazing time to be in to digital combat simulation. My Commodore 64 is rolling over in it's grave right now.
This will help delete those files safely and backup all your controls and configs prior to an update
Guess my link got removed. Just search for Witching Utility DCS
I'll see if I can find it...didn't get any links...I'll check waiting for review section. Thanks.
Despite my bottleneck being my 3080 (in MT my cpu runs at 25%), the DLSS is making barely any difference for VR usage. -.-;
🫡 I wish I knew what all that meant 😊
DLSS is grey and i cant click it
What GPU do you have?
For those with Nvidia, there is a setting you have to turn on first for Upscaling, and then you should see DLSS selectable. If you have AMD or INTEL GPUs, you'll have different options.
Perhaps YT can help find a solution for you. th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=dcs+dlss+greyed+out

Step 1: Own an NVIDIA card
Step 2: Don't own an AMD card
I should pin this comment...classic!
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP haha. I'm just salty cause I have an AMD card 😆
😜
Hey buddy, great video. thank you . Hope you are well. Can you give me a resourse as to how to determine whether I am running in multithreading? I have the same rig as you.
It will say multi threaded preview, bottom right of the main screen when you launch the game.
I guess steam users have to check the option in the launch profile. But are you running standalone and if you’re running 2.9 open beta, the default launch is multi thread. The shortcut that is inside your bin folder is now the standard shortcut.
