This guy's interviews are one of the highlights of Talksport - someone who actually knows exactly what they are talking about.
They signed him up after like one appearance lol. He’s great
Yes, unlike the angry arrogant sod that took Crystal Palace to a state of administration
How can he know anything without actually looking at the books? He is purely speculating. Typical TS tosh
Yeah, he's a rare find for sure - most of the pundits/panelists haven't got a clue!
He said City won't be found guilty on the 115 charges. He used to work for them :)
Look at Jordan's smug face as he's loving this 🤣🤣🤣
Simons an elitist bitter old man, who can’t accept football has evolved and it’s not just about “legacy clubs” anymore
@@Cynthia20043you call that evolution? I call it corporations turning football clubs into the PR arm for their morally dubious, planet-destroying, politician-lobbying, tax evading greed. Filling their stadiums with corporate partners shovelling down canapes and veuve clicquot while their loyal fans have to enter ballots for the chance to buy a ticket. If that's evolution to you, I'd hate to see what your idea of the game betraying every value it was founded on and what that would look like.
@@Cynthia20043 I don't agree, as Jordan speaks a lot of sense about this issue. He has rightly pointed out that all of the Prem League clubs signed up to these spending restrictions but some of them ignored it. He has said on a number of occasions that he doesn't actually agree with these rules but they are what they are and that all of the clubs need to abide by them or get together again and change them.
@@IggyGoesPop666 ok but why’s it he calls any club other than the arsenal United and Liverpool manufactured
@chalue6149They call that sycophancy, listen to the way he talks about Levy or the American club owners(successful western business men good, arab ones bad is he moto) he tries to be subtle with it because it's not a good trait but he does it with boxing too if you pay close attention.
So captivating never seen Simon so focused love this😅
Simon was basically calling this guy clueless after the deadline day interview. It's funny how his tune changed here.
Simon isn’t exactly bright. He just loves hearing himself speak
@@DresdenShuffleSimon is a multi millionaire self made businessman so I’d say he’s fairly bright pal
@@DresdenShufflehe’s certainly one of the brightest pundits , but doesn’t mean he’s always right that’s all
His problem is that he thinks he knows everything when he clearly doesn't.
He won't read your shining endorsement of his brightness pal, you can put your knickers back on!
And Man City keep pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes 😂
We have the best wool in Manchester. World class wool.
They aren't spending thinking that will help them back down the pyramid
@@gibbo822 Down the pyramid could mean 3rd division 😂
@@davidpimblett3573 Why's that?
smart tactic: break as many rules and regulations as you can, to overwhelm the authorities into doing sod all
This is why Levy's got Spurs chasing Gallagher. There's no one who understands FFP better than old Dr Evil.
Dr Evil, I can’t unsee it 😂
“Why make a trillion when we could make... billions?” 🤙😏
@@Antec76 as a Spurs fan I've been seeing it for years 😅
"How much for Harry Kane, 100 million pounds!"
I wanna see the likes of Enzo, Mudryk, Caicedo etc go to proper clubs to showcase their talents instead of at this dump. Firesale soon?
@@findingaether those players won't be on the market any time soon with their contract lengths, because they'd be unlikely to get what they paid back, and under FFP they need to be a few years down the line for an 'acceptable' loss to be made as I understand it. The most likely players to be sold are those that came through the academy or were bought for lower fees that might be sold for more. They have to make £100m profit on that basis by the end of June if I remember right.
jim white hates chelsea even though he is always sucking up for free tickets, jordan just loves sitting with a smug face.
Other clubs will know how desperate chelsea are to sell so not getting anything near what they value there players , gonna be hilarious 😂😂😂
Every body said the same thing last summer
@@Fernandez2023Eand we got 125 mill for havertz and mount🤣
Sadly Chelsea are not the only idiot club so this may not work out like this.
Good point, maybe this was Arteta’s plan all along. Let’s take Mudryk for 20 mil 😉
@@user-qb5lt3il1k£60 down the drain!
Kai Havertz scores again!
Fascinating that Simon listened diligently to the same guy he c*nted previously. How times change.
The worst part about it is they could’ve bought the best current World XI for the money they’ve spent, or even just the best XI who clubs would consider selling and it would be cheaper than what they’ve done. I’ve never seen money set alight in this fashion ever before
this mean, another 10 points deduction for everton
+ the 4 they added back on...
they wont mind it tbh , they rather be able to still spend first than to sell
No
@F_P_ 2nd lowest spenders in last 5yrs says your talking shite
@@gary4937nah your just broke
The solution seems pretty simple to me. If a club appeals a judgement and the panel consider it to have provided nothing relevant or that's not already considered at the original hearing, they increase the punishment. That'll cut out frivolous appeals pretty quickly.
And who gets to make that judgement. What a stupid solution that could easily lead to corruption.
Sure..:
Wanna be expert
@@queensberryrulez5306 it's not corruption when an organisation enforces it's own rules. Every single organisation in this country has its own rules, policies, procedures etc and people who breach them are disciplined. This idea that super wealthy football clubs run by billionaires should be able to break the rules with total impunity is laughably juvenile. Are you five years old?
@@creasicle most of the clubs are owned by the billionaires. They're already doing what they want. Watch Chelsea get out without any scathing b'se they had 1000 lawyers working around the loopholes.
@@creasiclerules and policies for corporations can only be set in place via legal legislation, they can't just make there own rules and policies upq
This is quality, well done
What about man city
Not going to happen against a nation state 🤷🏻♂️
Was just gonna say that. I've made a few comments on guardian football articles about City's FFP investigation and they've been deleted. I'm now convinced that City's lawyers are threatening legal action against any media source that reports it. Hope they get relegated to the National League which would be no more than they deserve.
Literally on-going
People need to drop the man city comments, just shows ignorance. Chelsea/everton/forest are 'very simple' profit/loss cases. City's is a whole different beast of hiding money, and dodgy payments and all sorts. Nothing to do with what this video is about neither
Who cares what happens to city...let's enjoy the yank ruining Chelsea
Simon's very quite, he can't intellectually bully Stafan 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Clearer? Like Everton YESTERDAY! This guy needs to back up his story, he has no idea what Chelsea's books actually look like.
"The football world will not bail Chelsea" - Al Nassr bid £85 million for Gallager 😂
Arsenal bought Kai Havertz for £65m and Manchester United bought Mason Mount for £55m in the last year of his contract. Chelsea don’t even need the Saudi’s to bail them out. The Premier League teams are doing a great job of that
@@cccbeats_Indeed, but I suspect they won't be that stupid again (no chance Arsenal buy Broja, very unlikely to buy Gallagher) and, in the case of ManU, will not have the PSR/FFP room to do so until Jul 1 when it'll be too late for Chelsea.
@@cccbeats_havertz was purchased for 70m. Chelsea therefore have made a loss on him. Mount fair enough
@@dag5473 my bad. Forgot about that. Cheers for reminding me✌🏻
@@cccbeats_ Difference is every club now knows the position Chelsea are in. Chelsea will have to sell players at vastly reduced amounts in a fire sale in June. Probably pick up a Gallagher and a Broja for about 15 million each...
Simon Jordan was wrong, again.
Finance expert talking nonsense. Chelsea can easily sell for shitloads and if it’s a point deduction it will be a minor deduction
Everyone was saying that Chelsea spending all of that money was a car crash, how could they not see it themselves...?
chelsea wont mind getting a points deduction this season if it is sorted out this season or start next season on minus
At least this time they let him speak without constantly talking over him
They must have looked at the comments section which I'm sure they must to analyse how popular or insignificant the podcast was.
Forget P&S punishment I want to hear what Stafan thinks about how Chelsea are going to cope over the next 7-8 years with the consequences of their £1bn spree. It seems to me that Chelsea overspent but thought that they'd bring enough money in to cover it, but as we've seen they're actually doing far worse. It looks like they'll finish in a similar position to last season, meaning no european football next season either. It seems like they could be in a vicious cycle, not being able to sell these players but those players not capable of more than mid-table football. With the new PL TV deal coming in, for less than previous seasons and combined with inflation on players transfer fees it looks like Chelsea's clever move is going to be a stone around their necks.
The track-record of the current owners is that they have been completely wreckless. God help us!
Relegate them,,,,,,
Just to say to Cundy - Haaaaasssss Annnnyone.....
A bitter Spurs fan????
Quack quack quack
Ye let’s just go back to legacy club domination
Haaaahahahah
Correct me if I'm wrong but... How can Forest having points deducted relegated Luton/any club... Surely it can only benefit them?
Meanwhile we had another points deduction yesterday with no appeal. If only we were Everton or a big branded club :sigh:
Hall may well not yet go to Newcastle. Hence he is not playing despite being fit.
he be heading back to chelsea... not being played so dont have to buy him
FFP is at least making the Premier League a little more interesting this year.
You mean it’s making the PL more transparent, fair, competitive and more accountable
@@uthankpettukola7589 No its looking after the cartel of clubs with greedy American owners who demanded its introduction.
@@robertmclellan3658 Think the only American greedy owner is Glazers. FSG and Kroenke haven't been great, but at least they're not parasitically bleeding the club dry. They're runnin Liverpool and Arsenal self-sustainably.
Be interesting to see how much business gets done in the summer. January window was pretty dead
It will be the start of a new financial year, so there with be a lot of movement most clubs didn't do business in jan because of ffp and are waiting for the summer @@TurtleJeff94
"you've got to stay on the right side of this" - yep that's the whole point, which is why 10 points was probably right for Everton
Liverpool sticking to the rules, having to play kids from the youth academy, against clubs spending a billion net on transfers (like Chelsea and Man City), who breach the rules, is very unfair. I think the premier league will implode in a few years, just like Serie A did
Chelsea oldest player against Liverpool was 26 😂😂😂 nukunku I think you need your head tested I think van dyke is older so is Robison
@@johnnymack2566You do realise that that is utterly irrelevant to the OPs point, right? You need to learn basic reading comprehension.
Provide evidence either have breached rules.
The fact that a Chelsea supporter is using laughing emojis right now for any reason whatsoever is absolutely mind blowing.
Wages per player cfc 10X LFC
It's Nottingham Forest, who are Notts Forest?
I can seriously see this being the biggest collapse of a club since Leeds in 2004. Chelsea are facing permanent ruin. There is absolutely no way they can get back to the Abramovich days again. The likes of Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle and as much as it displeases me to say this even Tottenham are all going to swarm around like vultures and sign their players for next to nothing.
Relegate city and chelsea to set example!
Sell Caicaido to Liverpool 😂😂 The reds have pulled Chelsea's pants down and now they are getting literally spanked for being daft with the money spent
This season, and next are going to be an absolute mess.
Most team will wait to after the 31'st of june to bid for gallagher. That way chelsea get deducted points & they still need to sell. Gallagher's contract is also expiring so his value is still declining.
Did anyone else catch Simon almost cussing on air? Jim did.
After Everton's appeal, I wouldn't worry about breaking FFP if I were Chelsea. 6 point deduction is hardly a deterrent. I wouldn't be surprised if most clubs regard FFP punishments as rather toothless now and so deliberately go out of their way to break it in order to strengthen their squads with better and more expensive players. Just factoring in the loss of 6 points on appeal as part of the risk factor.
It won't be 6pts if you've well over spent on players
Old interview WHY repost ?
Chelsea sold 330m worth of players. Cleared 150m worth of FFP
Chelsea the original Man City. You cant feel sorry for any prem club
It was always clear to me that Chelsea had taken a major gamble to get back into the Champions League places and get back the all important trophy revenue. If they don't, they need to sell, sell, sell.
This guys has so much insight great listen every time
5:16 Did he just say 'Period'' 😂 We say fullstop in this country Simon....
Why would Chelsea worry about a punishment 10 to 2 point reduction isn't going to back them go down so why not just keep spending
They have loads of time. Just a major lack of anyone wanting to do them a favour and buy there players before the cut off point...
How is it fair that the promoted clubs have to play under a different set of financial rules to the rest of the clubs in the Premier League? Why are they penalized like this?
They literally don't and aren't.
@kunimitsune177 they do, kind of. They are allowed to lose less money than long term prem teams. I think forest can only lose £60ish mill over 3 years. Logic being championship clubs have lower outgoings so any season spent in the championship allows for less loss per year
@@John...44... I would argue that promoted teams need an additional allowance so they can spend and give themselves a chance of staying up. Unfortunately, since those things have to be voted on by the 20 clubs who are already in the PL, it'll never get passed. We're likely to see a big problem with promoted teams' chances over the next few years until they come up with a good way to deal with the problem. If I were them, I'd try eg signing undervalued players from minor markets, possibly in Jan before promotion, to get them used to the English game, possibly as loans with obligation to buy if promotion is confirmed. If Brighton can sign Enciso, a top Championship club can sign a player like him.
What are you talking about ?Clubs like Nottingham Forest have outspent Bayern Munich in recent years.
@@mrc2222And we still have a squad that's a fifth the value of theirs.
The Forest decision will be so so important to Chelsea
Sign 100 free agents that have market value of about 5 million and sell them for 1 million + costs involved. Sell them on pre-agreements and realize the revenue early.
It's Nottingham Forest or Nott'm Forest, not Notts Forest
And these people are professionals and they don't know this, I am an LFC fan and I know this.
@@user-wx1gd9fs1k because no one can be bothered saying Nottingham Forrest every single time, Notts Forrest is quicker and nobody cares except pedantic Notts Forrest fans with nothing better to do.
@@jdogg448Just call them Forest. FFS there are not many teams in the league that we have to do the full name. Just like Man United is regularly called "United".
Yet abramovich was in charge in 21/22 so how do you explain that
You were in Europe
Where does this data come from? Are club financial records publicly available?
Didn’t this guy work for ManCity, if anyone understands and how the numbers work…it’s this guy! 😉
Someone who knows what they are talking about
3:20 have to disagree with the expert. In every market there is a fool. In this market Edu will pay full price or even a premium. Look at the money Arsenal paid for Havertz. He wasn’t a first team player and No one else was in the market for him yet Chelsea got their money back on him.
The Premier League is ridiculous. These sustainability rules are nonsense. They keep the big clubs big and the small clubs small. There's no real competition anymore, just bureaucracy.
Stefan is sharp as a tack and every bit an answer to everything Simon comes up with. Premier league are in a mess.
I hope Chelsea will be ok. They really need not to be sanctioned at this point of their development. If they have that second round draft pick taken away it could spell disaster.
Also good to see Brick from The Middle having a good post TV career
This saga has gone from Chelsea will be relegated, to Chelsea have defo breached ffp to i think Chelsea have definitely breached it to they might have breached it, to sell 3 players and they’re absolutely fine😂 im sure I see a podcast recently tallying up the players that could be sold, and that could get well above £100m given that 2/3 players you listed are roughly 1/3 of the price each
But they have a very short period of time to get them sold and every PL club knows it...
@@paulyoung5514 but selling players isn’t the only means for profit, you think chelsea would sell the players AND fail ffp? Obviously not buying clubs don’t have chelsea as bent over as they would like to think. Also maatsen and broja the 2 mentioned have set fees at around £35m so the buying club could probably save £5m if they pay before June 30th doesn’t change much about Chelsea’s target
That Chelsea team would be improved with lukaku,
I think we’re heading towards a serious collisions with the board (the fans) Todd is starting to look like he’s on thin ice at the moment.
Yes the clubs voted for this but didn't believe the punishment would be this tough.
Their arrogance is beyond belief it's not the PL fault it's the clubs who fail FFP and PSR who have caused this chaos and again the people running these clubs are risking the future of some very big clubs in our game.
course they will get away with it!! last time got a tiny fine!! same will happen with city - tiny punishment, if any!!!!
Colwill to Liverpool surely? id love him
Never getting that money for them 3 clowns 😂 they'll be lucky to get 40mil for maatsen and broja together 🤦♂️🤣🤣
Rules, your having a laugh, one rule for the cartel, you can't compete with them as they won't allow it.
Pantomime 007 Villain Levy, sat with a smug grin stroking a white cat😂😂
Newcastle not going trigger hall’s purchase and that’s going to be a big problem for Chelsea
Imagine if teams conspired to buy nobody off them. They would be in ruins.
Also value diminished as others can’t break the rules
I think the issue for Chelsea is they'll be in the same position every summer for years. They will run out of academy players to sell soon.
Or run out of clubs willing to buy them even United might have someone with enough common sense to not get bent over by them now.
I think that the people at Chelsea know more than these 3 and specifically the ex City chancer waffling on about stuff everyone else already knows. Chelsea will probably sell Maatsen, Broja, Chalobah...plus theres an obligated fee for Hall...and some other fringe players may well leave as well. Even if they dont sell them all by June 30th...it seems they'll be ok and I'd suggest that they do not need to sell Gallagher. The issue with him is that he'll have one year left this summer and if they cant agree a contract extension they'll have to sell to avoid losing him for zero in 2025
I'd rather keep our talented young players and cop the points deduction
Stephan is an excellent guest, clear and concise explanations. Any breaches of FFP/PSR are easy for clubs to predict and avoid as long as they are reasonable and don't make over-optimistic predictions of e.g. league placing or European football. Any breach therefore is simple cheating and has a victim (rival teams).
Why aren't citeh getting banned 115
City and Chelsea, dirty cheats
Keep crying ha ha
You would think that nobody in football has a mortgage and understands amortisation.
Chelsea are debt free from the banks.
Found the amortisation loophole and the premiere League allowed the owners to pump in 1.5b.
Carry on with this anti Chelsea agenda.
Also maatsen to Dortmund 35m is going to be done 1st June.
Chelsea did spend last summer. simon is right
Why can't any points deduction be applied to the following season regardless of what division you're in?
He misses a few points of income since last accounts. He has never written in the InfiniteAthlete deal in to this year or any of the satellite sponsorships that are all currently unknown until July’s reports. IA is supposedly £40mil, potentially another £5mil-£15mil from global partnerships, £35mil for Maatsen all but agreed and I think the owners know something about Saudi. The fact there’s no leaks out of Chelsea of concern suggests this isn’t that murky
Saudi air is going to sponsor chelsea
Why are journalists trying to create a problem for Chelsea?
I think we should bid for Reece James for Walker replacement.
You have not factored the reduction in wages £165m
They have to sell those academy players just to get back to the £105m limit for losses, which means they won't even be able to buy new players. They're stuck with the squad they have essentially
Looking forward to Levy placing a £25m bid for Gallagher on 29th June 😎
Ill bet that's his plan.
Stopped listening to this guy when he included Lewis halls fee which Newcastle haven’t even paid yet. So if they trigger it , it would be in June not for last year
I thought that todd is Gillette and hick tier now they're lowerer than them 😂
They won’t get done
Chelsea managed to con 65M out of Edu and Arsenal, anything is possible
Chelsea should take a hit on the points. Who cares cant get relegated plus 2024/25 they are playing in the inaugral, prestigous, valueable 32 team World Club Cup worth loadsa money.
Of course Chelsea would deny their situation; they’re over a barrel and other clubs will rinse them in the market. Their accounts are a matter of public record and there will be nowhere to hide.
This guy is brilliant, Luton survive on merit anyway
y forest going down
Always nice to see this guy coming on the show, for once someone that actually knows stuff
If Chelsea aren't contending for Champions League anyways, wouldnt they just not care? I mean if they get a 10 pt penalty they won't get relegated. So why should they care?
I don't understand why they can't just sell 100m of players. Can someone explain it to me please?
They need willing buyers who won’t leverage the deadline into getting better deals.
@@CourageOfMyConvictions I understand that. I just don't understand why making a loss on individual players matters.
@@rorus9530 Well, when you're talking about millions being lost, then that is where the problem starts. Maybe mega rich owners don't care, but if you start selling players for significantly less than you bought them for, or what they are worth, then you start to dig yourself deeper in the hole FFP wise.
Basic example would be buying a player for 100mill, and having to sell that player for 50mill. You still have a net spend of 50mill that you carry forward with you, without a replacement, hampering you further down the line in both a sporting and financial (ability to spend) sense.
First of all why are you accepting the need to sell £100m of players as fact? It is not, unless you can produce hard facts to back that and not just frivolous speculation?
Chalobah , Colwill , Maatsen and Gallagher gone by June 30
Either this financial expert is right, and Chelsea's accountants have messed up badly, or this financial expert is badly off in his prediction. I know finance has different sectors but it's hardly confidence building for people with savings and pensions when supposed experts can't agree or make such poor decisions.
Simon and many made Todd Boehly out to be some sort of business genius, he has proven to be a 10 year old playing football manager.
People do realise this guy was sacked by Man City because he was awful at his job and was probably complicit in Man City’s dodgy dealing too.
Levy is the best chairman in the PL and I've always said that (believe it or not) he will squeeze Chelsea until they bleed to death and they only have themselves to blame.
Yes it's possible that the Saudi's will bail them out but will the player want to go that's the question will Gallagher go there at this point in his career surely he will want to play at the highest level? Chelsea have dug themselves a massive hole and will be lucky to find a tall enough ladder.
Stevenfriston. The best chairman in the P L has won nothing?
The chairman that prefers the cowboys vs the 49ers than winning anything? Steven I’m not sure you understand football too well pal.
