The culture at Ipswich has changed thanks to the CEO, and Mark Steed, Ed Schwartz and the 1st responders who are bankrolling the club in AZ, and you can see it in the playing style - this whole idea of running towards adversity that has become the ethos at the club and is evident in how we play - the amount of times we came from behind to draw, win, or come close... Yeah it would be crazy to hope for a top 6 finish but look at the trajectory we're on. Our objective was to get safe last season and we finished 2nd, one point off winning the Championship. McKenna has coached players into something else - look at Omari, Lief Davis - they talk about McKenna opening up different sides to their game, and whilst our team still comprises of players we bought in league one, we have big cash reserves, a top- top coach, a dynamic playing style... real world challenges are fuel, not obstacles, so I think it's crazier to put a ceiling on Ipswich.

If Ipswich get relegated, TalkSport will argue that Kompany is proof McKenna still deserves a top job; even after laughing at Bayern.
If Maresca gets top four, TalkSport will argue that Pochettino would have probably won the league if he stayed, and would be minimum top four anyway.

I think football tends to reward fresh ideas and managers who move with the game.
This is why the trend is towards 37, 38, 39 year old managers.
Wenger was a brilliant manager but he refused to adapt as the game changed and he got left in the dirt. Same could be said of Mourinho.
Just because your methods won you trophies 5-10 years ago doesn't mean those same methods will win you trophies now.

Quite the opposite. It would be way to leave Ipswich now so he doesn’t have a possible relegation on his CV when he does eventually leave. It shows he wants to build something, keep them in the league and establish them as a mainstay before he moves on.
It would too easy for him to just move on to a massive club like United, or established PL clubs like Chelsea or even Brighton. It’s too easy to leave and improve Chelsea, who look to be improving anyway, and then there’s the fact that he’d likely get sacked if he doesn’t win anything in his first year!!

This rumour with United has to stop; he was fired 2 years ago, and has only two years management experience; one year in division one and one year in the championship. No experience in the PL, absolutely no experience at the top 6 level, no European experience, no experience with world class talent, and no experience at all being the front face of the biggest football team in the world. This is a job that Moyes, Van Vaal, Mourinho, Ole, Rangnick and potentially EtH all failed at. He may be an awesome up and coming coach; I hope he's as good as his reputation right now, but if you think he's ready for that role, I think you should go for a lie down.

Then they capitalize on the additional opportunities that come at the end as they contemplate the next level, instead of leaping only to struggle in/with the shadow of iconic coaches like Sir Alex... because you're bound to lose and end up worse off than if you stay the path with Ipswich. You could be the most incredible coach in the world, but if one or two of your star players don't buy into your philosophy and they or their agents have the club owner's ear, you are screwed.

Yeah, these fools show so much Bias . Good for the ipswich manager to stay. I have fond memories of ipswich . Back to these fools , when spurs signed Ange as manager , they said it lacks ambition as he only won in Scotland , now that Chelsea and United are interested in a Manger that only played in the leagues below ,they are saying it's a good fit.

If he go.s to Chelsea if he go man .u .if he does not win the league he’s sacked .no top club will keep you in this ruthless league.for me he will be the new Alex Ferguson.probably not with my club ITFC .BUT SO HAPPY HE HAS SIGNED. TOP 10

How does he lack ambition? He went for the interview, failed it, signed a new contract with Ipswich. He's dodged a bullet with the Chelsea job, the new manager Maresca will last a season maybe

Ah come on lads cop on ,,, he didn't turn down Man U, Chelsea or Brighton. They just considered him . They all turn him down but he got to treble his wage with the promotion and the speculation but I'd say his buy out clause was peanuts b4 but now that has gone up Ten fold..😮😮

Absurd analysis to say he lacks ambition. He’s 38 he’s avoiding the Kompany dilemma where he goes for the big job and crash and burns leaving his stock low. A good season with Ipswich and he’s laughing

The board at Chelsea and united must have shook him to the core, ie ,we need champions league ASAP or else , fair play he's looked at the bigger picture, and stuck with Ipswich, got seasons left as a manager instead of months 😊

Either his team put out rumours of him leaving to get him a better deal at Ipswich or he’s only signed it now because he didn’t get the Chelsea job.

This was the aim. Media spun it about Utd, when he was more closer to joining Brighton. You can't sell Brighton all week on the radio.

Why do they think he is at the level to manage Man Utd? 😂😂

  • @JP-es1nb
    @JP-es1nb 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

Let’s discount chelsea. They choose someone else. Let’s discount Man Utd. They still have a manager and seem in no rush. So that leaves Brighton. What does Brighton have that’s better than Ipswich? Slightly longer in the Prem and maybe a few more better players. But will they stay there? Will they improve? Will they keep buying the right player? How much say would the manager have in a new club. They sold most of their best prospects. They only have a couple left. Ipswich might improve more than people think. McKenna has more say right now. If Ipswich stay up, he’ll be in exactly the same place. Brighton are not much better than Ipswich. It’s swapping at promoted side for a team that’s lower mid table that may or may not struggle. McKenna wins plaudits by staying.

Gees Andy is getting more and more like a broken record. Not going to ManU doesn’t mean he lacks ambition. It shows he does have ambition because Ipswich are much more likely to win something than ManU probably. McKenna seems like the type to go for it rather than just aim for PL survival. And loyalty means such a big thing, which everyone is happy to see. And the Brighton link was naff because Brighton are overrated and wouldn’t be surprised if Brighton gets relegated. And why would anyone go to ManU if it means every week pundits go on and on about whether you get sacked or not.
