I agree 100%. Reforging has some history to it. Initially, reforging was to get players to play hunting grounds, increasing the social aspect by forcing players to play with others, along with newer players. Hunting Grounds was supposed to be a place where everyone can play with everyone. However, when backlash hit and private hunts was introduced, veterans ended up playing with other veterans, leaving the beginners left to play with each other. It, overall, destroyed the initial goal. Now we are left with our current state where it becomes EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT to play with friends due to variance in weapon level.
the thing with newbie playin with veteran is the veteran feels like the newbie is leeching because they cant stagger or give any damage and even seeing actual newbie leeching that make me personally and my other veterans players avoiding public hunting / esca.

I think a nice and simple way to make aether hearts easier to get would be give more hearts the higher your reset count is on a weapon, maybe after your first 5 resets you start getting 2 each reset or whatever value would make sense/be balanced.
@@cephalonwolf8422 making aether sparks more common and drop more, or make aether sparks drop from both behemoths and events, with a bit more amount. i think having to reforge for aetherhearts is just cringe overall, i literally am always on 0 aetherhearts, there is just not enough for the gear and the multiple weapons and multiple elements, thus i think it should be less reliant on reforging and more of a farmable/craftable material
@@Amir24901 Yeah I'd agree with that aether sparks don't drop enough as is, Phoenix labs really likes to give us barely enough resources. The new heroic escalations for example, the rewards are weekly when it would make a lot more sense imo to give us the weekly rewards every time we fully finish the heroic escalation. Give us a reason to grind and play the new difficulty level instead we do it once and now its dead content for a week.
I’ve played dauntless for a long time, old ramsgate pre reforge pre riftstalker ect, gold crown pre reforge update, I loved the game then. When reforged came out I had a long break cause the system was so annoying to use. When I came back, I had no idea what to do. I asked the other veteran players in my guild and even they said it was a dumb system. I like the idea of reforged but I don’t like the fact that it just ruined the whole progression system. I loved farming the stones back then but now it’s just reforge for heart, reforge for heart, reforge for heart. It’s a never ending cycle because of how many hearts you need. And don’t get me started on this cell system. When I came back a week ago, all my builds were messed up because discipline and rage got changed badly. All my one shot builds, Thrax builds and torg builds got mashed up so bad.
@@SomeRandomFox1 yea i definitly agree that reforging is really bad system as of how it's implemtned rn, it did mess up the progression system alot yea they made some changes to cells, they got rid of the discipline and iceborne cells and made them omnicells, rage got changed for hte worse and wild frenzy got changed to assassins frenzy, then in 1.8.0 came cell recatogorization where like 7 or so cells got changed to different catogories. though once you get your builds back together it's not too bad, should only take like 10 min
I feel like another way to fix the leveling (not entirely reforging itself) is to just make all levels the same amount of xp to level up. Like 500, 600 xp per level, keep the max amount of behemoth xo the same, but make the xp drop off per behemoth level a bit sharper. Still incentive to go for high level Behemoths and hence make the game a bit more challenging, but not to the point where it's as awfully grindy as it can get I have no opinion on the bounty tokens though tbh
sounds good, it would be easy to reforge that way, but that goes against the grindy nature of the game which is something that developers want to emcompass towards, it will go as far as farming for an entire week in order to get get a piece of equipment that is niche at best once you test it for a while, basically Warframe's style.

@@MyNameisRevenant I honestly don't know why they didn't. Maybe an immediate level up is a bit much for the play style of the game, but I completely understand your point. Maybe some day they'll revamp their xp system so it's styled a bit more this way, but for now I can handle the grinding. Getting the last 2 levels up to 20 isn't as hard anymore with the Blazeworks xp system
@@lunahexa01 true, we are also getting the xp banking system which will let us level up past 20 for a amount of 10 levels worth exp gains, so we can grind much faster on high levels keeping our stats almost optimal once we reforge again.
Reforging just destroys your sense of progression. It makes no sense in a Monster Hunting game where your primary mean of getting stronger should be killing monsters and crafting better armor and weapons from them. Getting a level up does not feel as rewarding as becoming stronger through a victory against a behemoth you had trouble with. I totally lost the feeling of 'look how far I have come and how strong I am now in comparison to my beginnings' after they released reforging.
they should remove the need for aetherheart to upgrade weapons and gear just make it so they only unlock the extra power you from the slayer's path. Need to go back to behemoth part to make the upgrades. Get rid of the level system.
it used to be you had to grind the behemoth and constantly break all its parts and then use behemoth parts to upgrade gear, this new version is very stupid
They also need to rework the slayer path. We should not have to pay enormous amounts of Rams/Merits for the same bonus. For example the gathering bonus tree, we pay a huge increase per level for the same bonus. They should rework it to start with a low percentage bonus and finish with a high cost, high percent bonus. Do this across the board for all bonuses.
In my opinion reforging can be fixed easily make that each reforge give +1 power to all weapons of reforged type with cap of +20 and then if you have any weapon of +20 you get extra +5 for all weapons this way the weapons will reward your grind and encurage players to actualy do and try EVERY weapon as you will upgrade first the ones you like to +20 and as you slowly go down the list each weapons become easier as you get the cap bonus per weapon so if you have all 7 weapons at +20 you get total of +55 its decent amount but not gamebreaking and is achievable enought by anyone even cosual from time to time player just realy slowly
After playing Warframe and then Monster Hunter for the first time I’ve become disillusioned with XP and Level-based progression. Gear based progression feels astronomically better now. It feels more like working towards an actual goal that seems attainable, as opposed to leveling where it seems like a never ending chore.
Ya I don't play much either and it is because this reason. I also agree I miss old dauntless overall. I do like the new dauntless but the level up system in old dauntless was mad good
I get reforging in connection to the slayer path and gaining those minor buffs for each weapon. However, what I think should change is after you max it out maybe add an aura to the weapon or something to show prestige. The little emblems changing colour are pointless. I think the XP per behemoth should be higher and the levelling equal because it always becomes stale from about 15 to 20.
I always think that I’m going to grind to get all my weapons to RF: 10, but like 2 hours in I get bored. Fun thing is that I’ll never stop playing it. I look forward to every little thing and get hyped.
I was in the same situation, and when I got to reforge 10 on every weapon (which sometimes was a nightmare 'cause I don't like all the weapons, for example the hammer, I just can't use it am bad at it) I decided to go for 11 reforges on every weapon 'cause the banner looked kind of meh, when I got to reforge 11 on every one I decided to go reforge 40 on all my 4 fav weapons, but I am didn't even make it to reforge 20 on any weapon 'cause it is dang slow and boring, especially the first 10 levels And I haven't quit the game, it's just like playing the game feels more like doing homework for some reason lol

Here's a system that could potentially work. Instead of having to get aetherhearts to powersurge gear, you could instead have it use aethersparks instead. Maybe around 50 or somewhere where it seems balanced. This would give a bigger incentive to doing events and such in hunting grounds. And would make upgrading gear less tedious. I don't want to have to spend over 5+ hours farming xp to reforge ONE piece of my set. Not to mention the broken process of getting xp. With bounties being massive crutches that are locked behind a paywall. The option to reforge could still be there but with a different incentive to doing so. Maybe some really nice cosmetics such as banners, crowns, transmogs, etc.
Would want a refund for the aetherhearts I used on gear though. It also gives the problem of players never ferorging again cause the only thing you'd realistically spend aetherhearts on is gear for those added cell slot perks, you really don't use 90% of the weapons so upgrading them feels unnecessarily.
I do like how reforging makes it so that you cant just stick to one weapon the entire time in order to get really high damage, but i dont like how it makes it just choosing two weapons so you always have something at level 20.
If im being honest, im gonna get all my reforges to 10 and then keep them all level 20 and only reforge when i need aether hearts, i really hate the reforge system, or rather the aetherheart system
@@Amir24901 its the Main reason why i quit the Game , Prestige should never be a Thing in a Monster Hunter Style Game and it Drags the Game so hard . Like If i want to reset i will make a new character but dont force me to do so by locking all the endgame Upgrades behind Prestige reward items
I think the reforge system show be: -Stay at lvl 20 (no need to go back to lvl 1) - You can start banking EXP as right now, however every certain amount of Banked EXP (let´s say: 5 or 10 k Banked EXP) you can "reforge" using the banked EXP and get the hearts. but that won't take you to lvl1. and still can unlock the Reforge traits in the Slayer Path. that would directly impact in your progress and it will feel like you actually getting stronger. - Or, you can keep getting Lvls after lvl 20(as a prestige thing) and after some lvl ups, they reward you with some shards/ hearts/skins/emotes/crowns etc.)
I’ve been liking the new changes, then again I’ve played dauntless when they didn’t have the reforge system an all you had to do was farm behemoth materials an then craft the wep/armor but every time you upgrade ur wep/armor it would double the materials for the next upgrade.
@@blazetanuki_4567 tried it today and deinstalled afterwards. Before was better. I need to slay a behemoth 3 times for mats, but now hunt it like several houers for exp? So the hundred mats are just there doing nothing.
ngl though being allowed to choose your level is fine but esca is a faster way to get xp so choosing to be lvl 15 to get to 20 faster would kinda break the game Xp banking might help for this though to all the people who continue to use lvl 20 weapons without reforging because they don't want to go through that process, they would have the advantage of banking xp and starting at a higher lvl (around 10) also for the youtubers who want to be 20 went they post a video but who also want to farm reforges, it might be good to have a "god esca" or something where you're allowed to be lvl 20 everything boosted, BUT you don't get xp and cannot reforge if you're not actually level 20 this is kinda messy but yeah that's my opinion
also the bounty tokens might be more viable if they gave you a buff of some sort like bronze gives some extra health for X minutes then silver gives X dmg and then gold gives X dmg and X health although that's not the best idea also for speedrun the only thing you need to do is just do a "speedrun without using tokens" category so it would depend more on skill
I was sad when came back to the game to see my lvl14 and 15 are now lvl10 and needed to be reforged to get max stats. new players dont know how hard it was to get those to max
i love dauntless but it eats my time just for reforging battling the same behemoths everytime and repeat it kinda get boring for me I hope they do something about it
besides fixing reforging, they should had some intersting features, like getting ambushed by a pack of 30 funky spiders wearing Michael Jordans the moment you want to open a chest at the end of a cave, making 3 behemoth fights, beacuse 6 players team is too overpowered at this point.
Upgrading stuff back in the day was indeed easier but i find also more boring, since you only had to get the orbs in random monsters(patrols) and also if you played escalation a lot you start to get plus 5 of orbs per patrol. Making you go the point where you can have over 100 orbs that are completely useless after maxing any gear, also you had to collect them to upgrade a weapon like 5 times to max something out.

I'm level 19 axe and 17 strikers, but I haven't reformed, atm I'm trying to get an escalation level to be high enough so I can get through hard escalations for legendary weapons and armour And I have 1 aetherheart to power surge my legendary weapon, then I'll start on the opposite escalation upgrading that level It might be slow but, I don't like the reforge because it feels slower than the method I'm using at the moment

Tbh I think if they changed the fact that reforging affects your resistance, and made it faster to get back to that max level it would be so much better as a progression system. I can't tell you how frustrating it was to reforge my strikers while helping out a friend of mine and they wanted to go do an escalation but now I cant use my strikers and i need to change medic build up slightly to use a weapon that either I'm not as familiar with or just to meet that escalation requirement (without going in as just the 2 of us).
I think you should be able to transfer weapon skill levels. It shouldn't be free but it shouldn't be hard either to do it and maybe they could even put a daily cap. as a new player i felt like i made a very bad choice choosing a sword as it gets very monotonous but it just takes so long to level up other weapon skills. it is also more fun being able to play new weapons against really hard behemoths
i feel if they make xp banking allow for xp storage up to 15, that'll make the issue with wanting to play with your friends but being too low level will make it way better, idk i feel xp banking will fix this

Yes that's the point. When u reach level 20 but want to farm escalation bosses, if u use level 20 weapon u are essentially wasting xp, so u reforge weapon to not waste xp, but weapon is now too weak to face 10-50 escalation... So u have to spend hour or two just to level it back up enough to play 10-50... Reaching max level on anything should feel like u maxed the build, but in dauntless u never feel like ur build is maxed out bcs of how reforging works, u never reach full potential on any weapon bcs devs made it so using lvl 20 weapon is wrong... They made the whole game to be focused on farming xp, like u are not focused on farming gear, u are always focused on levelling ur weapons, u never get to level 20 and stay on it, u always reforge and do same shit over and over.
@@stargazing209 well farming late game bnosses requires a late game weapon if your farming materials your not farming exp as a main stat but when yu reforge you continuously do harder and harder things therefore you would be farming exp and not materials
Biggest problem I have with it is how it changed the upgrading system. If I wanna completely powercharge a build, that'll cost 5 aetherhearts, that means 5 reforges. This sucks seeing as I only use repeaters and sometimes chainblades and nothing else. I just don't have the patience or energy to grind back to level 20 only to do it several more times and then some more if I wanna powercharge my recently acquired legendary weapons and exotics. I'd be fine with spending 200 aethersparks to make a heart if the game wasn't so damn stingy with them. Seriously? 4 heroic behemoths for 15 sparks? Come on. And yeah I know reforging also gives you stat buffs when using any weapon type but it just doesn't seem worth it to me. If I could change things I'd take a page out of the slayers path nodes. Get rid of using aetherhearts to supercharge ONE piece of gear and instead you use it to unlock those permanent stat boosts already in the game albiet buffed and now applies ONLY when using that weapon type. Ok wow long comment.
Actually, i have given up playing dauntless because of it... Dauntless is a great game, yet reforging doesn't make things good or easy, nor for the game itself, nor for the players either. Things get complicated and boring with the need of etherhearts. This system must be changed. The current state of the game doesn't make me feel like i want to play and spend long hours doing the same rutine in order to farm etherhearts and go back to reset. Indeed, this is not healthy and its a terrible idea. Too much effort just to get bored. It doesn't make sense to me. The reward isn't enough and the way this is obtained is just crap.
I played dauntless when i was waiting for iceborne. Same thing happened now i got bored o f rise then played dauntless. I used sword and reforged 2 times. I also made those sword legendaries except the cronovore. Total play time were at least 35+ hrs. Then i felt that i don't have anything to do any more beside reforging and slayer path which add little reward comapre to work output. If compare to mhworld, Hunting ground is like guiding lands. GL have a specific monster drop use to augment your weapons. Escalation has no equivalent to mhw but mhw has a siege type hunt like safi, kulve Dauntless also focus on fashion, so does world. World's every armor can be transmog+event layered armors and collab. It is worth at least a year or more worth of dauntless huntpass. Not to mention if you're on pc, you can have more because of mods. In short if you're bored of dauntless and not played mh it is the next step if you have extra money
By far the easiest solution : go back to the old upgrade system and scale things for that. (Bonus question for the person reading this : if you were to go back to the time where you didnt know a game and had no experience with it or heard of it, which game would you pick? Personally i would pick dauntless for obvious reasons)

The only thing i didnt like from before gor lvling weapons and armor is the amount of parts for getting to 15 and it take a long time Now is fine but u need to basically grind for the xp and then keep reforging
After playing for a solid month maxing out my toon and reforging my WarPike 20 times and maxing out all my trial armor and weapons I'll now say the quiet part out loud. Dauntless Is Nothing More Then ANTHEM 2.0 with all the same level scaling and lack of dps fuck ups. I don't play the game anymore except to collect my daily tokens then log out for another 24 hours. I have found DC Universe Online to be far better and there developers ain't into nerfing the players DPS current level cap is around 315 and there are actually story missions and your alwase around people.
they dont make the reforge system worth doing, aetherhearts are painful to obtain so you feel pressured to buy packs with real money, which is their final goal as with everything else, pointers, they should make use of enemy materials as currency to increase your avatar stats instead of Rams, they should bring back the ability to select an escalation lantern and sum their stats into our arsenal, this could be justified by making much harder enemies in posterior hunting grounds levels that requires the use of this feature, because lets be honest, escalation as it is now, is a waste of time! They need to fix stamina as well, either by getting rid of the stat altogether, or increasing the max amount through different means, amping from 100 to 200 with max tree branch unlocked. the passives from reforging should happen every time you reforge the weapon up to 10 and stop there,(actually i dont like the passive that increases your attack power) is negligible and inconsquential, at least for me. something like everytime you get it, there is 10% chance to negate the damage received along with a 10% chance to not get staggered or tosed around the ground by behemoth's attacks. (If you guys are reading this and have a another suggestions on the matter dont hesitate to reply, i want to hear what the dauntless community think, if it helps somehow)
Feels like dauntless is missing something. Felt it was going somewhere with the escalation however they kinda just chilled on that. More cosmetic. More escalation. More new behemoth. I’m still shooting my idea of an huge behemoth much like the elder monsters from monster hunters. Like have a team of six people go fight it. I envision a hugh Yamato dragon with 8 heads or some.

The behemoth that in the statute of the legendary slayer is too small to be a keystone behemoth right? wrong! what if it's a hydra like monster with multiple heads which each one of them is a different element making the behemoth resistant and vulnerable to all elements and basically a neutral keystone behemoth that was charged by all elements? Wouldn't that be cool?
After playing dauntless for a solid month and 14 reforges on my warpike later I can agree the reforging system is broken and has come to a point I am finding myself spending less and less time on the game. As the repetitive grinding is a total mind fuck and is worse then any fourm of repetitive fetch quests in Elder Scrolls Online.
you can click the "private" button in the Scalation menu and a message will pop up asking if you want to go anyways. You can go into 10-50 Sca as a lvl 1.
Well most of this would have not been a problem if they would have shipped xp banking when they shipped reforge and got rid of any limits on xp banking. But we are still waiting on xp banking and they limit it to only count until u r lvl 10 again

i think reforging is made so veteran players play whit new players more bc it is reason for expiriance player to go to low lvl area but problem is veteran on lvl 0 whit cells and meta progression can kill lvl 10 bohemoth in time new player can kill lvl 1 but we are limited to by 5 lvls restriction to group so it is pointless to for exemple do ez escalation as veteran in group also we are limited to what we want to do vs how much exp we gain if you for exemplar want to farm new drusk parts it is lvl 14 boss so on lvl 10 you can do it but why would you go there on lvl 20 fight will be super ez but you will not gain any exp same thing is for like chrono or phealanx if you farm them you just dont get exp and you need 50+kills to get all weapons and armors upgrade
Reforged system is cool. It is the Aether hearts is the issue. They don't give you enough. Either they should increase the rate of getting them because is at a slow rate. it's like they're Limited players one meal a day with the Aether hearts and I get it they don't want people to max out their weapons fast. But it makes the game boring by waiting for events or chess hunting if you got the keys to get Aether hearts. It's bad enough that getting parts from behemoth is RNG which I'm fine with that but change how the Aether heart system give a decent amount. And add more perks to the weapon skills. After you unlock all the perks for each weapons there is no reason to reforge over and over again the weapons not going to get any stronger it just becomes a number so people actually wasting time and Aether hearts just have a higher number on that weapon when the last perk is unlock. And they need to do something about the gear you can't stay at a low level forever doesn't make no sense to have a weapon that stronger and wearing basically low-level vulnerable gear it needs to go to 120 like the weapons
I refuse to keep using all my bounties after hitting reforge 10 on my weapons I really don’t care about the banner changing I just think of it as dauntless is trying to be slick and make you keep spending money and I like to conserve all my bounties until it really matters, and yes I do agree the reforge system is boring after hitting 10 on each weapon
Reforging is just so boring. Hunting behemoths should be fun, but it becomes really monotonous if I'm forced to hunt the same behemoths over and over again for the optimal exp grind. Feeling like you're forced to do something is never fun imo.
for me it would be fine if reforging get a grind system instead of lvl system. putting the weapon back to lv1 is sooo ennoying and after some time, spending to lvl my weapons back to max again and again i rlly, rlly, rlly dont wanna do that boring sht anymore..xD

REFORGE was a gimmick to get players to spend more hours in the game. Plain and simple. Now, I don't disagree with the reset and then build up to a better weapon (Warframe has this with Forma) the problem is they completly nerfed anyway to do this fast. When it came out, we could face lv 10 behemoths in Hunting Grounds and get all the XP from it. Undortutanelly, players "piggiback" the system and were meny times left with ONE good player and 5 rookies. BUT Escalation worked marvelously, ence everyone that was doing it Solo prefered thet method. Unfortunatelly, with Solo Hunting Ground they nerfed EVERYTHING: HG is now capped at 259XP and Escal (which has the benefits of Perks after each stage) to 194XP, which is incredibly low and dull and boring to level up anything. If they just removed the cap, like they did in on Blazeworks, everything would be fine IMO. And yes, I too hate that ginormeous meter dead center of everything. It should be reduced and put to one side (probably under/next the weapon icon top-left).
I do feel like I get stuck and unable to progress at times because of the requirement for aether hearts, all I wanted was shrowds gauntlets so I could make a meme medic/mender build and I had to bust my back farming behemoths because I didn't want to spend that steep 200 to get one. I've gotten every single armour piece in the game and just about every weapon excluding some legendaries for some weapons and I'm hard stuck trying to power surge them because I either don't have enough aether sparks, or I get tired of using a certain weapon for so long that I switch to another just to get that to around level 12 and then start again on another. Also off topic I literally have like thousands and thousands of behemoth parts just sitting in my inventory doing nothing, why can't I at least sell those or convert like 250 of a certain part into 25 aethersparks or something.

I think a nice and simple way to make aether hearts easier to get would be give more hearts the higher your reset count is on a weapon, maybe after your first 5 resets you start getting 2 each reset or whatever value would make sense/be balanced.

i think having to reforge for aetherhearts is just cringe overall, i literally am always on 0 aetherhearts, there is just not enough for the gear and the multiple weapons and multiple elements, thus i think it should be less reliant on reforging and more of a farmable/craftable material

@@Amir24901 Yeah I'd agree with that aether sparks don't drop enough as is, Phoenix labs really likes to give us barely enough resources. The new heroic escalations for example, the rewards are weekly when it would make a lot more sense imo to give us the weekly rewards every time we fully finish the heroic escalation. Give us a reason to grind and play the new difficulty level instead we do it once and now its dead content for a week.

I’ve played dauntless for a long time, old ramsgate pre reforge pre riftstalker ect, gold crown pre reforge update, I loved the game then. When reforged came out I had a long break cause the system was so annoying to use. When I came back, I had no idea what to do. I asked the other veteran players in my guild and even they said it was a dumb system. I like the idea of reforged but I don’t like the fact that it just ruined the whole progression system. I loved farming the stones back then but now it’s just reforge for heart, reforge for heart, reforge for heart. It’s a never ending cycle because of how many hearts you need.
And don’t get me started on this cell system. When I came back a week ago, all my builds were messed up because discipline and rage got changed badly. All my one shot builds, Thrax builds and torg builds got mashed up so bad.

yea they made some changes to cells, they got rid of the discipline and iceborne cells and made them omnicells, rage got changed for hte worse and wild frenzy got changed to assassins frenzy, then in 1.8.0 came cell recatogorization where like 7 or so cells got changed to different catogories. though once you get your builds back together it's not too bad, should only take like 10 min
I feel like another way to fix the leveling (not entirely reforging itself) is to just make all levels the same amount of xp to level up. Like 500, 600 xp per level, keep the max amount of behemoth xo the same, but make the xp drop off per behemoth level a bit sharper. Still incentive to go for high level Behemoths and hence make the game a bit more challenging, but not to the point where it's as awfully grindy as it can get

sounds good, it would be easy to reforge that way, but that goes against the grindy nature of the game which is something that developers want to emcompass towards, it will go as far as farming for an entire week in order to get get a piece of equipment that is niche at best once you test it for a while, basically Warframe's style.

@@MyNameisRevenant I honestly don't know why they didn't. Maybe an immediate level up is a bit much for the play style of the game, but I completely understand your point. Maybe some day they'll revamp their xp system so it's styled a bit more this way, but for now I can handle the grinding. Getting the last 2 levels up to 20 isn't as hard anymore with the Blazeworks xp system
@@lunahexa01 true, we are also getting the xp banking system which will let us level up past 20 for a amount of 10 levels worth exp gains, so we can grind much faster on high levels keeping our stats almost optimal once we reforge again.

Reforging just destroys your sense of progression.
It makes no sense in a Monster Hunting game where your primary mean of getting stronger should be killing monsters and crafting better armor and weapons from them. Getting a level up does not feel as rewarding as becoming stronger through a victory against a behemoth you had trouble with.
I totally lost the feeling of 'look how far I have come and how strong I am now in comparison to my beginnings' after they released reforging.

They also need to rework the slayer path. We should not have to pay enormous amounts of Rams/Merits for the same bonus. For example the gathering bonus tree, we pay a huge increase per level for the same bonus. They should rework it to start with a low percentage bonus and finish with a high cost, high percent bonus. Do this across the board for all bonuses.
In my opinion reforging can be fixed easily make that each reforge give +1 power to all weapons of reforged type with cap of +20 and then if you have any weapon of +20 you get extra +5 for all weapons this way the weapons will reward your grind and encurage players to actualy do and try EVERY weapon
as you will upgrade first the ones you like to +20 and as you slowly go down the list each weapons become easier as you get the cap bonus per weapon so if you have all 7 weapons at +20 you get total of +55 its decent amount but not gamebreaking and is achievable enought by anyone even cosual from time to time player just realy slowly
After playing Warframe and then Monster Hunter for the first time I’ve become disillusioned with XP and Level-based progression. Gear based progression feels astronomically better now. It feels more like working towards an actual goal that seems attainable, as opposed to leveling where it seems like a never ending chore.

I get reforging in connection to the slayer path and gaining those minor buffs for each weapon. However, what I think should change is after you max it out maybe add an aura to the weapon or something to show prestige. The little emblems changing colour are pointless.
I think the XP per behemoth should be higher and the levelling equal because it always becomes stale from about 15 to 20.

I always think that I’m going to grind to get all my weapons to RF: 10, but like 2 hours in I get bored. Fun thing is that I’ll never stop playing it. I look forward to every little thing and get hyped.
I was in the same situation, and when I got to reforge 10 on every weapon (which sometimes was a nightmare 'cause I don't like all the weapons, for example the hammer, I just can't use it am bad at it) I decided to go for 11 reforges on every weapon 'cause the banner looked kind of meh, when I got to reforge 11 on every one I decided to go reforge 40 on all my 4 fav weapons, but I am didn't even make it to reforge 20 on any weapon 'cause it is dang slow and boring, especially the first 10 levels
And I haven't quit the game, it's just like playing the game feels more like doing homework for some reason lol

Here's a system that could potentially work.
Instead of having to get aetherhearts to powersurge gear, you could instead have it use aethersparks instead. Maybe around 50 or somewhere where it seems balanced. This would give a bigger incentive to doing events and such in hunting grounds. And would make upgrading gear less tedious.
I don't want to have to spend over 5+ hours farming xp to reforge ONE piece of my set. Not to mention the broken process of getting xp. With bounties being massive crutches that are locked behind a paywall.
The option to reforge could still be there but with a different incentive to doing so. Maybe some really nice cosmetics such as banners, crowns, transmogs, etc.
Would want a refund for the aetherhearts I used on gear though. It also gives the problem of players never ferorging again cause the only thing you'd realistically spend aetherhearts on is gear for those added cell slot perks, you really don't use 90% of the weapons so upgrading them feels unnecessarily.
I do like how reforging makes it so that you cant just stick to one weapon the entire time in order to get really high damage, but i dont like how it makes it just choosing two weapons so you always have something at level 20.
If im being honest, im gonna get all my reforges to 10 and then keep them all level 20 and only reforge when i need aether hearts, i really hate the reforge system, or rather the aetherheart system
It's smart to reward players for reforging weapons and getting the bonuses if they want to, forcing them grind a weapon back up is the wack part

Like If i want to reset i will make a new character but dont force me to do so by locking all the endgame Upgrades behind Prestige reward items
I think the reforge system show be:
-Stay at lvl 20 (no need to go back to lvl 1)
- You can start banking EXP as right now, however every certain amount of Banked EXP (let´s say: 5 or 10 k Banked EXP) you can "reforge" using the banked EXP and get the hearts. but that won't take you to lvl1. and still can unlock the Reforge traits in the Slayer Path. that would directly impact in your progress and it will feel like you actually getting stronger.
- Or, you can keep getting Lvls after lvl 20(as a prestige thing) and after some lvl ups, they reward you with some shards/ hearts/skins/emotes/crowns etc.)
As a mh player, playing this shit is damn depressing and annoying. I’ve made armor sets in mh faster than I can reforge and level up in here smh
I’ve been liking the new changes, then again I’ve played dauntless when they didn’t have the reforge system an all you had to do was farm behemoth materials an then craft the wep/armor but every time you upgrade ur wep/armor it would double the materials for the next upgrade.

for the youtubers who want to be 20 went they post a video but who also want to farm reforges, it might be good to have a "god esca" or something where you're allowed to be lvl 20 everything boosted, BUT you don't get xp and cannot reforge if you're not actually level 20

i love dauntless but it eats my time just for reforging battling the same behemoths everytime and repeat it kinda get boring for me I hope they do something about it
besides fixing reforging, they should had some intersting features, like getting ambushed by a pack of 30 funky spiders wearing Michael Jordans the moment you want to open a chest at the end of a cave, making 3 behemoth fights, beacuse 6 players team is too overpowered at this point.

Upgrading stuff back in the day was indeed easier but i find also more boring, since you only had to get the orbs in random monsters(patrols) and also if you played escalation a lot you start to get plus 5 of orbs per patrol.
Making you go the point where you can have over 100 orbs that are completely useless after maxing any gear, also you had to collect them to upgrade a weapon like 5 times to max something out.

I'm level 19 axe and 17 strikers, but I haven't reformed, atm I'm trying to get an escalation level to be high enough so I can get through hard escalations for legendary weapons and armour
And I have 1 aetherheart to power surge my legendary weapon, then I'll start on the opposite escalation upgrading that level

Tbh I think if they changed the fact that reforging affects your resistance, and made it faster to get back to that max level it would be so much better as a progression system. I can't tell you how frustrating it was to reforge my strikers while helping out a friend of mine and they wanted to go do an escalation but now I cant use my strikers and i need to change medic build up slightly to use a weapon that either I'm not as familiar with or just to meet that escalation requirement (without going in as just the 2 of us).
I think you should be able to transfer weapon skill levels. It shouldn't be free but it shouldn't be hard either to do it and maybe they could even put a daily cap. as a new player i felt like i made a very bad choice choosing a sword as it gets very monotonous but it just takes so long to level up other weapon skills. it is also more fun being able to play new weapons against really hard behemoths
this system is one of the main reasons i stopped playing, along with solo hunts being gone.

When u reach level 20 but want to farm escalation bosses, if u use level 20 weapon u are essentially wasting xp, so u reforge weapon to not waste xp, but weapon is now too weak to face 10-50 escalation... So u have to spend hour or two just to level it back up enough to play 10-50...
Reaching max level on anything should feel like u maxed the build, but in dauntless u never feel like ur build is maxed out bcs of how reforging works, u never reach full potential on any weapon bcs devs made it so using lvl 20 weapon is wrong...
They made the whole game to be focused on farming xp, like u are not focused on farming gear, u are always focused on levelling ur weapons, u never get to level 20 and stay on it, u always reforge and do same shit over and over.

thinking about tryna BODY heroic esca, you got any up to date builds?
Biggest problem I have with it is how it changed the upgrading system. If I wanna completely powercharge a build, that'll cost 5 aetherhearts, that means 5 reforges. This sucks seeing as I only use repeaters and sometimes chainblades and nothing else. I just don't have the patience or energy to grind back to level 20 only to do it several more times and then some more if I wanna powercharge my recently acquired legendary weapons and exotics.
I'd be fine with spending 200 aethersparks to make a heart if the game wasn't so damn stingy with them. Seriously? 4 heroic behemoths for 15 sparks? Come on.
And yeah I know reforging also gives you stat buffs when using any weapon type but it just doesn't seem worth it to me.
If I could change things I'd take a page out of the slayers path nodes. Get rid of using aetherhearts to supercharge ONE piece of gear and instead you use it to unlock those permanent stat boosts already in the game albiet buffed and now applies ONLY when using that weapon type.

Actually, i have given up playing dauntless because of it... Dauntless is a great game, yet reforging doesn't make things good or easy, nor for the game itself, nor for the players either. Things get complicated and boring with the need of etherhearts. This system must be changed. The current state of the game doesn't make me feel like i want to play and spend long hours doing the same rutine in order to farm etherhearts and go back to reset. Indeed, this is not healthy and its a terrible idea. Too much effort just to get bored. It doesn't make sense to me. The reward isn't enough and the way this is obtained is just crap.

I played dauntless when i was waiting for iceborne.
Same thing happened now i got bored o f rise then played dauntless.
I used sword and reforged 2 times. I also made those sword legendaries except the cronovore. Total play time were at least 35+ hrs. Then i felt that i don't have anything to do any more beside reforging and slayer path which add little reward comapre to work output.
If compare to mhworld, Hunting ground is like guiding lands. GL have a specific monster drop use to augment your weapons.
Escalation has no equivalent to mhw but mhw has a siege type hunt like safi, kulve
Dauntless also focus on fashion, so does world. World's every armor can be transmog+event layered armors and collab. It is worth at least a year or more worth of dauntless huntpass. Not to mention if you're on pc, you can have more because of mods.
In short if you're bored of dauntless and not played mh it is the next step if you have extra money
I get they wanted a system in place for people who have nothing better to do, but Reforging is such a chore, even on a good day.
It makes them a Ton of Money and is way easier to do than a good endgame Loop

After playing for a solid month maxing out my toon and reforging my WarPike 20 times and maxing out all my trial armor and weapons I'll now say the quiet part out loud. Dauntless Is Nothing More Then ANTHEM 2.0 with all the same level scaling and lack of dps fuck ups.
I don't play the game anymore except to collect my daily tokens then log out for another 24 hours. I have found DC Universe Online to be far better and there developers ain't into nerfing the players DPS current level cap is around 315 and there are actually story missions and your alwase around people.
they dont make the reforge system worth doing, aetherhearts are painful to obtain so you feel pressured to buy packs with real money, which is their final goal as with everything else, pointers, they should make use of enemy materials as currency to increase your avatar stats instead of Rams, they should bring back the ability to select an escalation lantern and sum their stats into our arsenal, this could be justified by making much harder enemies in posterior hunting grounds levels that requires the use of this feature, because lets be honest, escalation as it is now, is a waste of time! They need to fix stamina as well, either by getting rid of the stat altogether, or increasing the max amount through different means, amping from 100 to 200 with max tree branch unlocked. the passives from reforging should happen every time you reforge the weapon up to 10 and stop there,(actually i dont like the passive that increases your attack power) is negligible and inconsquential, at least for me. something like everytime you get it, there is 10% chance to negate the damage received along with a 10% chance to not get staggered or tosed around the ground by behemoth's attacks. (If you guys are reading this and have a another suggestions on the matter dont hesitate to reply, i want to hear what the dauntless community think, if it helps somehow)
Feels like dauntless is missing something. Felt it was going somewhere with the escalation however they kinda just chilled on that. More cosmetic. More escalation. More new behemoth.
I’m still shooting my idea of an huge behemoth much like the elder monsters from monster hunters. Like have a team of six people go fight it. I envision a hugh Yamato dragon with 8 heads or some.

After playing dauntless for a solid month and 14 reforges on my warpike later I can agree the reforging system is broken and has come to a point I am finding myself spending less and less time on the game. As the repetitive grinding is a total mind fuck and is worse then any fourm of repetitive fetch quests in Elder Scrolls Online.
How can you play 10-50 escs after reforging? Thought it stops until you’re at a high enough level :-(
you can click the "private" button in the Scalation menu and a message will pop up asking if you want to go anyways. You can go into 10-50 Sca as a lvl 1.

i think reforging is made so veteran players play whit new players more bc it is reason for expiriance player to go to low lvl area but problem is veteran on lvl 0 whit cells and meta progression can kill lvl 10 bohemoth in time new player can kill lvl 1 but we are limited to by 5 lvls restriction to group so it is pointless to for exemple do ez escalation as veteran in group
also we are limited to what we want to do vs how much exp we gain if you for exemplar want to farm new drusk parts it is lvl 14 boss so on lvl 10 you can do it but why would you go there on lvl 20 fight will be super ez but you will not gain any exp same thing is for like chrono or phealanx if you farm them you just dont get exp and you need 50+kills to get all weapons and armors upgrade
Reforged system is cool. It is the Aether hearts is the issue. They don't give you enough. Either they should increase the rate of getting them because is at a slow rate. it's like they're Limited players one meal a day with the Aether hearts and I get it they don't want people to max out their weapons fast. But it makes the game boring by waiting for events or chess hunting if you got the keys to get Aether hearts. It's bad enough that getting parts from behemoth is RNG which I'm fine with that but change how the Aether heart system give a decent amount. And add more perks to the weapon skills. After you unlock all the perks for each weapons there is no reason to reforge over and over again the weapons not going to get any stronger it just becomes a number so people actually wasting time and Aether hearts just have a higher number on that weapon when the last perk is unlock. And they need to do something about the gear you can't stay at a low level forever doesn't make no sense to have a weapon that stronger and wearing basically low-level vulnerable gear it needs to go to 120 like the weapons
I refuse to keep using all my bounties after hitting reforge 10 on my weapons I really don’t care about the banner changing I just think of it as dauntless is trying to be slick and make you keep spending money and I like to conserve all my bounties until it really matters, and yes I do agree the reforge system is boring after hitting 10 on each weapon

Reforging is just so boring. Hunting behemoths should be fun, but it becomes really monotonous if I'm forced to hunt the same behemoths over and over again for the optimal exp grind. Feeling like you're forced to do something is never fun imo.

for me it would be fine if reforging get a grind system instead of lvl system. putting the weapon back to lv1 is sooo ennoying and after some time, spending to lvl my weapons back to max again and again i rlly, rlly, rlly dont wanna do that boring sht anymore..xD

@@MrThaone73 I don't mind hunting lots of behemoths but grinding out levels is just annoying... especially after having almost all progress reset when the reforged update came out and made it so I now have to power surge everything (which means grinding for aether hearts to power surge everything...)

I personally would have Loved a System where you have a small % to get a Chibi pet Version of the behemoths you slayed .

REFORGE was a gimmick to get players to spend more hours in the game. Plain and simple.
Now, I don't disagree with the reset and then build up to a better weapon (Warframe has this with Forma) the problem is they completly nerfed anyway to do this fast. When it came out, we could face lv 10 behemoths in Hunting Grounds and get all the XP from it. Undortutanelly, players "piggiback" the system and were meny times left with ONE good player and 5 rookies. BUT Escalation worked marvelously, ence everyone that was doing it Solo prefered thet method.
Unfortunatelly, with Solo Hunting Ground they nerfed EVERYTHING: HG is now capped at 259XP and Escal (which has the benefits of Perks after each stage) to 194XP, which is incredibly low and dull and boring to level up anything.
If they just removed the cap, like they did in on Blazeworks, everything would be fine IMO.
And yes, I too hate that ginormeous meter dead center of everything. It should be reduced and put to one side (probably under/next the weapon icon top-left).
I don't have any problems with reforging currently. I see your point in terms of balancing escalations etc, but its streamlined gear soooo much.

I do feel like I get stuck and unable to progress at times because of the requirement for aether hearts, all I wanted was shrowds gauntlets so I could make a meme medic/mender build and I had to bust my back farming behemoths because I didn't want to spend that steep 200 to get one. I've gotten every single armour piece in the game and just about every weapon excluding some legendaries for some weapons and I'm hard stuck trying to power surge them because I either don't have enough aether sparks, or I get tired of using a certain weapon for so long that I switch to another just to get that to around level 12 and then start again on another.
Also off topic I literally have like thousands and thousands of behemoth parts just sitting in my inventory doing nothing, why can't I at least sell those or convert like 250 of a certain part into 25 aethersparks or something.
