Something I didn't mention in the video is inline reloading (should tell you something about it) Inline reloading is basically a primed strike ( 3:00 ) but hitting the reload button instead of the heavy attack. It's never really used, due to extended clip being the meta, and it slowing down your combos. Perhaps you could utilize it practically with Molten edict antique clip, if you decide to prime a hit earlier in the combo.
Glad you do mention inline reloads. Though I only ever prime and quick load 1 attack in a combo (usually the 3rd swing) I don't really feel like I slow down; now doing it repeatedly or during the 2nd swing at times I do feel like I just jumped into molasses with how slow I suddenly feel.
Awesome video thank you for this guide! I never thought to use double jump for boops, I usually try evasive blast and it'd be a toss up if it actually works. As a new-ish player who loves but struggles with heavy weapons, PLEASE MAKE AN AXE GUIDE!! 😁

🙏 Crazy how PHX made an ammo system so good that you can meta slave and only use 1/3rd of the options available and it is still a thousand times more interesting than the actual Gun weapon's ammo system
Relatable, once you learn the hammer even slightly... You basically *can't* go wrong or too wrong with it, I even feel it's even more basic than, hear me out and don't kill- The reworked sword... Yeah, uhhhh, totally not hating the combo system sometimes
@@thycorrupted The Hammer, Warpike and Axe are the only weapons i like, hammer has stun and damage, warpike has spin to win, and axe has damage stacks and hulking attacks, sword is my least favorite so far, feels slower than spear and slightly weaker damage wise for some reason.

I used to main hammer. Got pretty good at it but it got boring. I'm using sword and axe now and it's very fun playing axe. These heavy weapons are op if you know when to dodge and when to attack.
@@koalakurt9366 hammer is easier to pick up, easier mechanics. With axe, you need to be good at managing stamina, good timing with charged attacks etc.
@@joshc.8489 team I’m enjoying hammer but I feel like it will get boring, but there’s a lot of little things you can do with the hammer. Like one hit you can charge it plus at then end recharge you’re ammo. Attack Y end of attack Rb
Haven't played since early release got back into it due to a friend. I main War Pike feel like I'm doing OK but I'm not entirely sure how the playstyle is i.e should I be more poke or spin to win. I mainly spin to win since part damage seems to be a big part of it
I still don't understand how in a chronovore weapon build, the rezak' weapon wich has cunning +2 or 3 and is capable of hitting twice isn't better than Valormyr with the aetherhunter. I understand that his unique effect is better than rezak's one, but it's still a decent unique effect and we get cunning in bonus. While imo aetherhunter welp, depend on the behemoth behavior, sometimes i won't see any aether charge for few fights and sometimes they're going wild with aether :D
Rezak weapon effect is kinda up to chance, plus it's hard to tell whether it actually happened. Unrealible, low chance. Valomyr is guaranteed to proc, and better with heavy weapons for a strong burst.
@@vanadyan1674 I'd recommend power surging another weapon element as well. Helion or Savyt. Cause in higher level maps there are a number of strong umbral behemoths, and riftstalker weap won't be as effective.
does anyone here know why I can't get aether charge ammo when I slam the hammer? every time I have to manually reload cause it wont do it when I finish my combo
During the hammer slam, the hammer itself needs to physically connect with a behemoth for the ammo to get loaded and aether charged. I've had many moments where the behemoth moves at the last second and the hammer slams down JUST outside of their hitbox, super frustrating. One of the reasons I ended up switching over to Axe as a main lol..
@@christianmaron282 I know it still doesn't reload, it only happens with a few of them like molden edict, rifstalker, pangar, etc., I don't know why this happens
can i survive frost escalation without forging a hammer or is it a must to have a certain number of reforge for the hammer? i'm currently using Axe but, i'm interested to start building hammer for the next weapon.
For some reason, I CAN'T execute hammer jump - and therefore, not aerial strike either -, just double jump, when it comes to sprint+right click. I have submitted loads of tickets but no answer whatsoever. This issue have been occurring to me for more than a year, and it affects my playstyle negatively (although axe is my main weapon, I do enjoy using the hammer). Has anyone else having the same problem?
you have your hammer in your hand right? it doesn't work if it's sheathed on your back. took me a few runs before I realized that was my issue not being able to hammer jump.
For me, I feel like it's sword. Not crazy high stamina cost, has atk spd on special, dashing skill, realiable interrupt, and of course good dmg on heavy combos and dps.
The only use for knockout king would be if you need to stagger something, while dealing less damage to it. Normal damage sources will increase your stagger damage anyway, and you’re going to kill the behemoth faster

Can you do a guide for war pike?
Got back into Dauntless after a couple years. Your vids have brought me up to speed with weapons and builds. Thank you!!
noice guide, I mainly use hammer for the thickest amount of emotional damage

Can you cover pike next?
I started maining hammer 3 days ago and was struggling ty for the vid
Could you make a guide for war pike now up to date and Ossian repeaters
Nice!
Hey, you think you can do a "Refreshed" guide on the other weapons?
Awesome guide, could you do sword next?
I've been getting into swords so I personally would like to see a sword guide
These guides are ace! I’d like to see them all but sword next please! 😅👍
Best guide imo. War Pike would be nice.
For the lava balls if and only if you charge them up to 2 times they will interrupt but it's pretty tricky
More videos like this would be great
Will you continue this guide playlist?
I REALLY like this style of video.
i still don't get how you do those... shine stance beffore attack
Lime a timed attack
and is it the same build for the terra hammer too?
Master AXE PLS
i'd appreciate an updated armor guide, i think i've made good choices, but i'd love your thoughts
Would you be able to do the chain blades next?

Knockout king, weighted strike, overpower plush 6 on all three and then whatever else you want
