Remove both positive and negative cable from your battery , turn key on and short the cable red with black from ground for 10 sec. This will reset computer . Do not short battery ! After that reinstall battery cables , crank up your car. If problem is still there you need a gt1 computer to read your fault code, I suspect a fuse , relay , bad ground wire or computer ECM fail.
It was in the winter. Next morning,started the car up, it was like it never happend end and never once happened again after that time ! Didn't try anything, car just went normal again.

Remembered that the only thing different was that the passenger had dropped the sun visor and used the light.The problem was there , operated the passenger visor light and then all was normal. I think that the relay was not good and the light control module detected an issue and went into safety mode. These lights go via fuse F6 to the ignition switch connection also used by the lcm . Odd problem
Time to change it... I've changed it on mine 320d... But there is a dot near the km meter, which means the Vin number from the cluster and the Vin from the car doesn't match... It was kinda expensive to code it to the car so I left it like that...
Dude, I have the problem that my instrument cluster is going crazy, it first happened 2 months ago with a light indicator on right headlight, but my headlight still good but sometimes it's blinking, then a month later my cluster going worse, when the gauge engine at the middle (engine running for a while) my cluster start showing the gearbox light, but I feel that my shifting is good, and at the clock instruments going so messy. and now when I run the car and engine is on that temperature, my cluster show battery indicator and finally, my cluster is dead. And then i watch so much video that most of them suggest to DC the battery and I done it, when I instal the battery again everything is normal until I drive the car and the gauge on the engine heat reach the middle, the battery light comes again and then my instrument cluster is totally dead, but I still can start the engine without any light come on the cluster, I've check battery voltage when engine not running and it's 13V and when the engine running it's 14V and it doesn't drop even I turn on the headlight, music, and AC (can't do cold blow) My car still can do a crank and start but I was so scared driving without any lights on the cluster. Hello. Happened same to me. This buttons break and no spares are available. U can get a new knob from another cluster from other car or 2nd hand spares dealer...or u can print it with a 3D printer ;)
fuses 10 34 and 43, remove check fuses, if ok start engine without said fuses in then re insert all fuses and start again. worked for me.

Change both LCM and IKE, try to find them close to your milage
is really work if i disconnect the battery overnight.....but dont know yet can last how long...tqvm
