    My man!! New Mr. Mom here. Friend’s said to get an air fryer. Had this one for 18 months. Used it abt 10 times and messed it up - timer is the smoke alarm. However after seeing your detailed cleaning one, I drug it out, cleaned it, and am gonna try Walmart bacon. Thanks so much for all the other little tips which are a big deal for me.

      I hope it works well for you. Remember to keep the tray in under the basket when air frying. For the bacon we used the tray, so you should be good there. There are 'dedicated' air fryers that might perform better for that use, but the magic of this oven is all that it does and it does do well for air frying too.

    Tip O' the day for basket cleaning:
    Place your "air fry basket" in your "sheet pan". It seats perfectly. Soak using your favorite concoction.
    Plain 'ol water removes pizza/ tator tot funk.
    It is a perfect soaking pan. Litte water needed.
    I use a spray oil before cooking.
    Also: When it comes time for advanced cleaning I'll probably use th same trick with a hand brush, just a little water, and every degrease spray I own.
    P.S. Why doesn't Ninja sell replacement pans at the store?

    Great video though I would caution anyone that when using parchment paper to always be sure you’re not exceeding the temperature that the parchment paper can handle. Parchment paper that I can find at my local store can only withstand temperatures up to 420 and not 425 but again it’ll depend on where and what brand of parchment paper someone is able to get ahold of at the time. Overall, I plan on trying this method out at least once because those bacon look delicious.

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      great reminder. I am using the paper with the bacon as a tray liner that quickly gets covered with grease, so no chance of it scorching and catching fire. But to be sure, use foil if you prefer, or just wash the pan. ;) Hope you like the bacon, it really is delish.

    I learned a little trick; you boil up a little bit of water and pour it into the pan when you're done cooking. That losens the fat, so you can pour it into a container. When you've saved up a decent amount, you can just boil the water away and you're left with pure bacon fat. Liquid gold that you can use when cooking those special meals.

    • @MrAndMrsBanks

      Hi, thanks for watching! So I am not entirely sure. Likely a couple things. The ends are more exposed, smaller and so cook faster. Also, I do observe things on the edges, when using the sheet pan, do cook faster. I suspect the air has to circulate around the pan causing hotter sides. When cooking on the rack directly I don't see that happen.

      I use magic erasers. But depending on your 'need' to have things spotless inside, it will aways take a long time. No shortcuts there. These ovens are small and because they re deep, it is difficult. but there are things that can help - make sure you use the baking sheet below the air fryer as a drip tray. It catches a lot that then you don't have to clean up. And when possible, cover in some foil or at least 'tent' with foil.

      Either the grease drops into the pan below OR we just don't cook it enough, but we don't really have that much splatter.

      I don't know if it is 'easier' but yeah, can be done of course. I did it this way so the camera could be kept on the mount in one location. But not difficult to load at the oven either. :) Thanks for watching and commenting!!!!

    You are doing it wrong! (humor)
    Suppose you start it cold, like for fat meats do. Start at 300°. The fat will start to render from cold. Then turn up to ≈ 425°?
    Note: I am opening mine tonight. So this is theory.
    P.S. As a retired engineer I have special dispensation to use the degree ° symbol and similar.

    The reason I've come to your channel to watch the Foodie ovens is that mine just arrived a couple of days ago and I'm seeing if I want to keep it. Yeah, it was one of those situations where they changed my meds that day and I found they really reeelaaaxxxed me, and feeling that good, never watch QVC when they change your heart pressure meds. I tried to cancel it (after I remembered I ordered it), but I had waited too long. Good thing is, QVC will take it back whether you use it or not. Bad thing is, you didn't get your commish. =/
    Anywho.... The complaint I do have about the "Inspiration" guide uses too many pre packaged, supermarket items. I'd be happy to make a pound of good asian, home made meatballs one weekend and freeze them in smaller batches. The trouble is, I don't have specific instructions for this appliance. I'll figure it out, and send you my results. I have no desire to woman a new youtube cooking channel. It's too much work.
    I do have a suggestion, though. When you need to break for 15-20 mins while yummy treats are cooking, I'd love to see examples of water color paintings or something else and then you can tell us tell us which video(s) to watch.I'll finish watching your cooking video (I don't want to be rude), and dash to the suggested videos. just a thought. Did you make it to the end of this comment? Congratulations! =D

    That's an awful long time to cook bacon. I thought air fryers were supposed to be faster.
    I just lay it in a shallow bowl, cover with a paper towel and throw it in the microwave for 3 or 4 minutes. Then I can pour the fat into a jar to save and use for cooking.

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm glad you commented. There are many ways to accomplish the same things. If speed is your greatest value, then of course use the microwave. But some find microwaves to dry foods out and speed is not at important and as I am showing ways to use this particular oven, then this is a good method.
