    Pretty cool glasses actually, the price is not that high if compared with very high quality eyeglasses!

    I've been suffering from photophobia and just insane eye issues lately. I just bought the Intercept model today for $50 USD. May get crystalline lens version at some point when editing for color. just means I'll have to take them off when doing color work. I'm glad you have had positive effects wearing them. Makes me more confident in my purchase.

    Something to note... if you need reading *and* distance lenses (but hate varifocal, like myself) its worth getting your opticians to do a third prescription for your monitor/desk setup (and really with a complete set of glasses and lenses for circa 19 quid at a well known chain its not a huge expense; obviously with no additional coatings etc.). I tend to have my monitor close to the back of the desk and like to lean back in my chair, so at least an arm and a bit's distance away where as my reading tends to be a forearms distance and that can be enough of a prescription difference to be worth it. What I used to do was use my previous prescriptions reading glasses (slightly weaker) for the monitor work, and my new one for reading (bit stronger, at the rate I'm going its going to be bottle glasses by the time I reach my 60's :-P ) but that no longer cuts it. You will need to explain it to them, and also have some kind of measure to take with you (honestly I took an extending tape measure) to get it just right, as its not something they do by default so judging the printing card read can be a bit awkward. Just something to think about if you find your dual prescription doesn't quite cut it so you end up leaning forward and peering at the monitor like Mr Magoo.

    I confirm, gunnar glass does work, I noticed, that this glasses stops the not-blink effect caused by blue-light. The only problem is that there is only one model "Menlo" which looks quite fashionable. Others loook like from a matrix movie.

    I think for you in this case glasses that are made for a focus point at monitor distance is way more important for eye strain than the blue light filter.
    Possibly for a better comparison, you should try to use untinted computer glasses. I have a feeling that outside of plasebo that is the more important factor here.

    • @MyouKyuubi
      @MyouKyuubi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not a placebo, dude... wtf...
      Anyone with basic knowledge of how colors work, understand the importance of the tint on the glasses, simply by looking at them... The reason it's a weak amber color, is because the glasses themselves absorb a particular spectrum of colors, and reflect everything else...
      As an example, your car is green, because it absorbs all color spectrums except the green one, which it reflects back out, into your eye, making you see green, because it's the green spectrum it didn't absorb.
      That's why your pupils are black, btw, because they absorb all humanly visible spectrums of light, which allows you to SEE. :P
      That's why the amber lenses are yellow/orange, depending on their tint strength, because they are absorbing the blue light, and reflecting everything else.... Making you see yellow/orange, the opposite color of blue. xD
      The tint absorbs a wide portion of the bluelight spectrum, protecting your eyes from it... the bluelight protective coating, takes care of a different range of bluelight spectrum, for a Bluelight Protection Factor (BLPF) of roughly 65%.
      That's the BLPF of the standard amber glasses from gunnar btw, the yellow-ish ones? BLPF of 65%... The clear glasses only have a BLPF of 35%... Max Amber lenses have a BLPF of 98%.

    2 details you are missing out here...
    1. The non prescription glasses have very slight magnification on the lenses. It's not all that great for people, that really don't need any magnification. It took me a couple week to adapt to that.
    2. You have the plastic frames ones, but there are models with titanium frames and for what is worth - they are really good frames.
    My personal experience with them is beyond meh. I have the Crystaline Onyx model with titanium frames and to be fair, I see no difference with or without them. I have gone through a periods of prolonged usage of them and a periods of no usage just to see if there will be any difference. Nothing. Yes, I'm using the clear lenses, but still there should be at least a little bit of change. There is nothing, other than the magniffication discomfort.
