You got that right...free labor. I belonged to a metaphysical temple and ashram and we paid for classes, Sunday service, readings, and were free labor. We helped pay OFF the whole BLOCK, and about 30 years later, they told the new parishoners that they needed to pay off the property!!!!! Man, these people will do anything to fleece the flock! The head priestess, asked my dad to divorce my mother and to sell their apartments and give the money to the temple. He left.

Honeyyy, I’m with you. My family is full of folks who have positions in church (Sunday school teachers, ushers, church announcement givers, deaconesses etc) and I was formally the church secretary and tithe counter (every penny ran thru my hands). And I saw first hand how these peoples ego’s are fed and how they get their supply from the parishioners thriving and giving and all they have to do is give some kind of hope and people will give them EVERYTHING! Craziness!

I feel you have had a lot of church hurt. Me too there are soo many Narcs in there ! But Jesus is real and he is coming back for his Bride the church / read about the Tares and Wheat.
I was feeling the same about her being hurt from the church. Jesus warned us of wolves in sheep's clothing, the wheat and the tares. This is why it is so very imperative to have the Holy Ghost living on the inside of us, to lead and guide us into all truth. We are to look to Jesus, not man/woman.

I was involved in a church like this for 13 years. From age 17-30 I would go 5 times a week faithfully for hours at a time. Choir practice, all night prayer, new converts class, twice on Sunday, it was my life. My husband at the time (who I now know was a grandiose narcissist) would be the first to raise his hand to donate my hard earned money (he was in school and not working). So on top of the 10 percent tithes it was $1000 for this fund, $1000 for that fund. The pastor who came to Canada with $5 in his pocket was now living in a big house with a fancy car. The youth pastor was discovered to be having an affair. My husband the assistant youth pastor was a porn addict and our marriage ended after he spent all my money and left me for another woman. There were multiple betrayals. Us woman were to only wear long skirts, no make up, no jewelry, arms covered (teenagers looking like grandmothers) while the men pranced around looking dapper. What teachings did I learn in those 13 years? Nothing. It was 13 years of my empathic nature and emotions being taken advantage of. I’ve learned more from your channel in the last month, actual useful information and tools to better my life than the “give and you will receive” line that was repeated over and over again. Not to mention all the fear that was poured out on top of that. Fear of not being good enough or not doing enough to prove we were faithful obedient servants. Thank you ms Faye. You are the real authentic family that was never found in the church. You are sharing your experience and wisdom and helping me recover and break the cycle of emotional narcissistic abuse. ❤
It was Jimmy Swaggart, who had sex with prostitutes & who knows who else. I was raised Catholic but stopped practicing at 19 years of age. But recently went back. I’ve also attended Christian services at a Bible church but I would never become a member. A guy I reconnected with recently is a follower & I broke up with him after 7 weeks of doing the church thing because it was draining my spirit. I felt more connected to God before I began attending church. I realize that now & I know I can’t be an evangelistic person because I feel people should find their own peace with the God & Jesus. When the pastor mentioned going to hell it was very painful to hear. The Catholic Church priests never say that. Yes the church has their problems & that was one of the reasons as a young woman I chose not to take part in organized religion. I went to a few other churches. 7th day, Islam a friend many years ago introduced me to Buddhism but I chose not to practice it the same with the Apostolic faith. I just want to beat the devil out of my life because I am a good person but I’ve been so unkind to myself. We do need to love ourselves I’m going on 73 God will soon and I’ve improved taking care of myself but the struggle is daily. I just pray to the Lord for his strength & guidance & gradually return to my Catholic faith & take Bible lessons.

This is such a needed message. I spent about 15 years in the Pentecostal Church and I learned enough to know that there are a lot of manipulating and controlling spirits (residing in many of the church leaders and regular lay members). I've never been a "follower" and have always decided for myself whether I like someone or not so my personality was not that pliable. Also, I was about 30 years old when I joined this denomination so I was not a child. I hope many who hear this message can at least grasp some of what you are sharing here because I am sure this is a hard pill for many people to swallow. Thank-you.

Miss Faye Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom!! I feel if churches would do more to help others we wouldn't have so much stress. If they just had boards up for info to help single mothers, seniors etc. Whenever I see and receive info that can help others, I forward that info to help people with energy assistance, food, rental assistance etc. You are right stay alert, don't follow anyone blindly. Don't assume every church has your best interest. Alot of churches like Ms. Faye said some churches want you to give, give and you don't have food on your table! God helps those that help themselves.
Yes the Holy Spirit Showed me tithing was false and told me to stop so I did and I got thrown out of two churches- tithing was always food! Yes !

Billy Graham wasn’t a cheater, and was never alone with anyone because he was so concerned about avoiding scandal. His grandson, Tullian, is. This grandson even called out his wife for cheating. The ego of a lot of religious people nauseates me.
I always wonder about what a lot of churches do with the money, but do know that Samaritan’s Purse, part of the Graham Ministry, does a great deal of good all over the world. It supplies food, shelter, blankets, medical care, helps with rebuilding, etc., to earthquake, tornado, COVID, Ukraine, and other victims.

I'm a CHRISTIAN, but I find it hard to join a church. I feel churches want u to be faithful them no matter what. I'm faithful to JESUS because JESUS CHRIST is trustworthy & most churches don't care when you're feeling bad or sick. I don't mind giving & helping the less fortunate! JESUS is the only faithful one to me, so I try to be faithful to him. I read & study the bible for myself so that no one will deceive me. Many churches have run weak & strong ppl away with their devilish ways!!!
Wow miss Faye your right about sn my ex boyfriend was homeless and pretend that we was down on his luck gave me a sob story .I let him come in my parents home and bath cook washed his clothes ect.he told me he was a christian.he show me a picture of him pastoring.at beginning we were friends then become lovers.i asked him do he smoke dope cuz the ppl he hung around he said no I'm nothing like them.hes was so charming sweet and kind so I thought.he would act like he was helping random ppl but come to find out he was giving only to get it back later he knew the ppl he gave too I didn't know he knew that many ppl. i would give him money to get something for me he would come back with not what I asked him to get.he was smoking Crack he lied to be.he started staying out til 4 o clock in the morning he got me pregnant.i put pressure on him about what was he doing out so late he attacked me while I was pregnant and knocked my front bottom teeth out.and scatched my daughter in her face and said it was an accident cuz his nails was long.then one day he told me that he hated me and that he was a psyco path and he was dangerous and deserve everything he do to me and i should of made better decisions.he called me weak.he treated his street buddy's better then me.he got one of the New York buddy's to start bullying me and stood up to him cuz I asked him to and he wouldnt.we would say Jesus all the time he got his back.one day me and him was at a graveyard at a chruch and he told me the he got demons in him.i was going into labor instead of him calling the emts he told me to get in the shower.i told him my mucus plug came out.a paper said if that happens to call the etms he didn't call them I had to.after having the baby at 1200am he wanted to go and smoke crack and freak woman.when he knocked my teeth out he told me all I'm gon do is make your life miserable.and he told me don't let the devil win when I told him somebody doing witchcraft on our relationship.looking back at it after I left him I figured it out it's was him he tried to put it on his ex.made false promises to me embarrassed me in public places fighting told me he loved me everyday.then I read what Jesus say what love is and isnt and the times we are living and how men would be self and woman silly and in i put two and two together which equal four forreal.and knew he was a worldly man.the creator of my body would never send someone like this to me.or maybe he did to make me aware of ppl like that.i put him in jail he put his on me 2months ago at the park.june 4 is our court.my two daughters was always there when he was abusing me.this person abused me on every level.i will NEVER GO BACK TO MONSTER LIKE THAT.its so much he did to me I can't fit in all in here.im crying miss Faye cuz you know about these ppl you on point.ill be single for the rest of my life.i love men but I don't trust them with me.

You just have to call bullshit when there's bullshit there. I once wrote a column regularly for a metaphysical magazine with an ad. I spent thousands over time, with only ONE person who called me and didn't even book a session with me. I told him this, and he said something like "Oh, just pay it forward, and it will return to you". Yeah, sounds like a way to pay his salary, and a way to go bankrupt. Can you imagine if a restaurant business spent money this carelessly without results? Man, some people use airy fairy spiritual concepts as a way to escape accountability, and results.

Thank you Ms. Faye. If you ever desire to return to the church, visit the Churches of Christ. The minister is just a messenger who doesn't own the church or has authority over the collection. This is a strictly Bible based church and if a leader is found unfit to lead the flock, he is removed. We are very loving, but also we don't play.
