I use 4/5 during the colder months here in NJ. I love the jerk bait bite but, find it tough to master from the bank (no boat). The jig is a real fav of mine lately but, I just wish I lost less fish with it. The finesse TRD is all I use when Ned Rig fishing. It has bailed me out numerous times and I have caught 4 pounders (big in NJ) with it. You probably know about stretching the TRD to make it stand better but, I have an even better tip for that. After tying a Finesse TRD on, rotate the line on the eye so that your knot ends up at the top position on the eye. That would be the position where the eye and the hook shaft are closest to one another. This helps the lure stand up more than any other tip! Last, the drop shot was a real winner for me in 2022 with less success in 2023 at the same lake. I still love it and can usually catch something with it. Great choices!

Yeah definitely fishing a jerkbait from a boat can be more effective but a Texas rigged fluke could be a good alternative! I used to have a problem losing fishing on the jig but ever since I started using some dirty jigs finesse footballs I’ve definitely had a lot better of a hookup ratio. I feel like it’s due to the weedguard on the jig and I don’t get hung up as much with it either. The finesse TRD is a miracle worker especially whenever the area is heavily pressured or the water temperatures are on the lower side. I normally stretch my finesse TRD before and use some superglue but I never thought about the tying the line to the jighead like that! That’s an awesome tip I’ll have to try that the next time I’m out on the water. The drop shot is very effective and it has become an important finesse technique over the past couple of years with me. I love throwing it all year though! Thank you for watching I really appreciate it and again I really appreciate that tip! I’m totally going to try that out
