Beautiful song. I like the dreamy shoegaze vibe. Danny's masterpieces include Lovely Days, Wings of a Dove, Caroline & FM songs Sands of Time, Woman of a Thousand Years + Sunny Side of Heaven that this song is built on. I would like to discover more about this band
I like this tribute a lot. Danny was other-worldly, and I love discovering other people who recognize his talents and contributions. RIP dearest Daniel David Kirwan
I've been listening to Danny alot lately, Lovely Days is a good one to wake up to, daily!! Especially now, these days are not so lovely, November 1, 2020...😢😒. Thank you Danny for your music, which makes life more "bearable" when it gets so hard, and unbearable. Thanks to Peter Green also, for bringing Danny on board, and inspiring him. Sadly we lost Peter this year also. Their music lives on though, and I'm thankful, as I listen to escape the madness all around😢💔😘💙🌟💚💯🎶🎶💞
Listen to "sands of time" iam sure you have, but that is the one which sends me to another time, better than this modern way of life nowadays....... Anyway sands of time and Dust are superb....
Not a ripoff at all--anything could have filled that original descending guitar line. It was meant as a tribute, and indeed it is a beautiful one. Nice now, with all this, to be able to connect with people who love Danny's work. Bless you, Danny!
When I first heard Sunny Side of Heaven, I had to pull over (in my TR-6) to listen to it. If I had heard this, I might have run off the road. Love it!!!!!!
danny lovers are the most wonderful, let's keep wishing for his triumphant return. just imagine the deafening roar of enormous love if he takes to the stage again . a standing ovation that will go on almost forever
Love this, it has a symphonic majesty, soaring lush chordal sweeps, you can hear 'Sunny side of Heaven' in it but it has a wild passion and sad undertone, and the drumming is incredible!
I love this song. It is a tribute to Danny, an acknowledgment of his music. I hope he heard before he passed. Love you, Danny! You are an inspiration to my own playing.
There's a few people getting a bit upset at this posting/version, I think it is glorious, Danny was a rare talent An accomplished player and tunesmith.
I dug around and people thought The Amazing "stole it", but I read Danny was getting royalties from it. I wish I could find the lyrics.. been looking (occasionally...) for several years.
Not sure how I found this but glad I did (I think reading about Danny) - beautiful tribute with a couple 'dips' that really grab. One article said The Amazing compensated Danny for this, who (as of 6-8 months ago) is getting by, but no longer wishes to perform.
Very interesting tune hear. I thought that I was going to hear some early Mac but wasn't disappointed, that's for sure. Thanks for sharing something I probably would've never heard otherwise.
Beautiful shoe gaze tune honoring Danny's style. I would like to hear more by this group. They are very musical & I like the dreamy mix that I haven't heard since "All I Wanna Do" from the Beach Boys Sunflower album.
Not everyone gets blessed with good fortune which is something you can't become, you either have it or not, Danny and Peter also had no luck, there is nothing Danny wouldn't have done if Peter asked him to like the Munich party that took both of their souls..
Nice song, well done... but a correction is needed in your description. By the time the album on which Sunny Side of Heaven was released, in '72, Peter Green was long absent from the band.
I sure like the instrumental version better. I'm sorry to say I stopped listening to FM after bare trees. Peter Green left a void when he left. I actually "boycotted" FM when Buckingham/Nix showed up. Probably because I'd seen them Live since 1969. Jeremy took over leadership, on stage anyway, in 1970, then he split quickly. Most people don't know what a funloving comedy act they were in the happy days. Jeremys Elmore James, and Elvis parodies, they and the crowd were laughing alot.
At the time they called it a nervous breakdown. Today, some sort of emotional distress disorder. Spent his days after music as a recluse. Fame has its price, not all are able to pay.
@@reinefiske5855 Where can we find the lyrics to this nice tribute? There are many Danny fans out there mourning his loss and comet-like career, me included. Thanks
Sadly, we lost Danny Kirwan, yesterday (8 June 2018). Thank you for the memories, Danny. You will be missed

Rest in Peace, Danny. Thanks for the good music... it'll be here for the duration.
Awesome re-imagining of "Sunny Side of Heaven"

Eric Clapton said that about Stevie Ray when he first heard him- he HAD to pull over .....Eric probably felt a little intimidated?
ignore the pessimists, any loving tribute to danny is appreciated

God bless yoy Danny Kirwan...your music is with me forever
Danny is/was amazing. Truly in the Top Ten of under-rated musicians and writers. LOVE HIM.
RIP Danny Kirwan

An accomplished player and tunesmith.
In don't see how.. it's a lovely tribute and very "Danny" in it's feel!
I think this is a lovely tribute to Danny, very "dreamy like".I miss you Danny, our Dragonfly🌞💙💕💙🎶🌟🎶🌞🌿🌸🌼🌿

This song moves like the ocean. Great homage
danny kirwan...on another level

Romantically haunting mesmerizing! Enlightening!

This is a really great song, a lovely development of Danny's original. I love it ! Thank you for sharing :)

EXCELLENT SUMS THIS ONE UP !!!
Yes, and you guys are The Amazing!
@meroleakomo Any chance of posting the lyrics of this? Great song!
That Danny boy liked himself some Gibson Les Pauls. Nice tune btw ;p-
Tu jamás vas a morir Danny Kirwan.
Anyone got the lyrics for this?
Can't quite sound them all out.
RIP

The picture at 3:30 haunts me.
Cathy Kelly: I agree, the photo haunts me as well. Those eyes... They say "the eyes are the window to the soul"🤔 I hope Danny found his peace💙🌞💙🎶🌟🎶
Can you give details on which album this is on? I have "Bare Trees" but I'm looking for this version. Thanks!
Who knew I had a song named after my last name (Kirwan). 🤣
Nice song, well done... but a correction is needed in your description. By the time the album on which Sunny Side of Heaven was released, in '72, Peter Green was long absent from the band.
I was referring to "Sunny side of Heaven", and there are a few versions of it too.
I sure like the instrumental version better. I'm sorry to say I stopped listening to FM after bare trees. Peter Green left a void when he left. Escuse me, is The Amazing the rewriters of this song? If so, is the album available on the merket?
Thanks
John Tranecol You can ger this album through Subliminal Sounds
I thought this is the Swedish band, Dungen covering Sunny Side of Heaven, originally an instrumental. Right?
Quite good, but I couldn't make out a word. Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics?
As good as the original (by Kirwan) is, his best song is 'Sands of Time'.
¡Lyrics Por favor!
@texas4christ -oh yes ! -sigh - thanks Tex :)
@danashane Yes
@texas4christ Amen
So what band is playing this?
Why did danny leave Fleetwood Mac?
At the time they called it a nervous breakdown. Today, some sort of emotional distress disorder. Spent his days after music as a recluse. Fame has its price, not all are able to pay.
Danny was sacked in 1972 after an incident backstage.
I read somewhere that Danny was probably struggling with autistic trouble
I actually like this one better than sunny side of heaven.
Who is singing this ?
It's on the fleetwood mac album bare trees... Sunny side of heaven,, sure that is danny kirwan singing
@texas4christ ditto bro
oh dear I think somedaes murdered 'Sunnyside of Heaven'
@texas4christ ditto
I like the instrumental version much better.
it's a bloody frikin trash rip off cover taske it off utube
plexibill It’s not a cover and Danny got 80 % of the writing royalties for the actual theme of his. We saw it as a homage to him
