Josh, this was a pretty well-balanced review of Gulf Air's product. I'm more of a fan of the 1-2-1 seating arrangement. However, GFA has cleverly managed to accomodate direct aisle access and privacy for all - which is how it should be done - while maximizing profits. Now, all Gulf Air needs is a competetive Premium Economy product, or increase the seat pitch in the rear to at least 34."
Looking forward to that full-scale attack on the Skytrax mafia.

Gulf is not one of the most talked about Middle East carriers. Looks like a good product. Thanks for the review.

Gulf air is the first airline of middle east which was 50%owned by BAHRAIN and 25%by Dubai and 25%by Qatar. After some time dubai and Qatar got their own airline . So now gulfair is completely owned by BAHRAIN sponcered by formula 1 BAHRAIN grand prix.. and it is still one of the best flights in the middle east region. They say its 3 star but according to my traveling experience it is definitely a 5 star airline. Tho it's a bit expensive than Emirates

Having a direct aisle access from every seat on a 2-2-2 configuration makes this airline better than many. I definitely would like to try this seating configuration. As always, thanks for sharing Josh!

Hey Josh, I'm from Australia and honestly speaking, I've been binge watching your videos recently and I just love how you interact with the viewers and make it feel like we are traveling with you haha. I do wish however that you do more indepth review on the foods, their ingredients and the tastes and quality of foods. I feel like sometimes you rush the food part where as you can dive a little more deep there and give us a fully detailed info on what the airline serves at each bite! Either way, I appreciate your work Josh! Keep it up mate. P.S hope I win the amenity kit😊

Can't wait to see your review of Skytrax. I lost whatever faith I had in them when they downgraded Turkish. What a load of crap. I have flown with them in economy and business class and they have always ranked up there with the best of them IMHO. Delighted to see this review of Gulf Air which is one of the first middle eastern airlines. Bravo. Always love your very quietly spoken reviews. I think your calm delivery is what does it for me. Nothing loud mouthed about them and I ALWAYS get the sense that you are independent of much, or any influence from ANYONE. Keep up the good work. Keep smiling. Happy travels.

Some companies cannot take honest reviews. I am glad to see Gulf Air. I haven't flown them even though I live in the region.

I have travelled in Gulf Air Twice. It was way long ago, in the year 1999 and 2002. My first Gulf Air flight was from Mumbai to Bangkok with a stop over in Bahrain and Return, the second flight which was in 2002 was from Mumbai to Dar e Salaam and Return. Since my father was A Gulf Air staff, I really loved flying on Gulf Air, because they took such a great care of me during the flight. I really miss flying on Gulf Air, but I hope to fly again some day on Gulf Air in the near future.

Glad to see that Gulf Air is doing well. I flew them regularly throughout the region when I first moved to Dubai in 1985, but then very rarely after Emirates was created. I think they went downhill as one by one the other GCC countries pulled out and formed their airlines. So, I'm glad to see that they've got a high-class product now.
I used to love hitch-hiking when I was younger. Once hitched from Istanbul back to English; was a great experience.

Service was spot on, food is deliciously tasty due to its remarkable catering, very intuitive in-flight entertainment system and very super kind cabin crew!!!!!

I am very impressed by your review of gulf air, just as much as their inflight service. I have had the opportunity to travel with the gulf air and in both classes, they have a tremendous hospitality on board. Apart from Qatar and Etihad, they are ahead of Emirates in my honest opinion. Saudi Arabia Airlines still need much to do in terms of their customer experience, considering your experience from Milan-Jeddah. Thanks very much for your honest and open minded trials, good luck.

I internationally fly three times a year and can say that the service on gulf air is always brilliant on all flights..cabin crew and ground crew are so friendly, and the food on board always very delicious and tasty...

Small but lovely airline. Was a big one in 70s and 80s. My favourite for 15 years that I lived in Bahrain.
Gulf Air is great, travelled on their tri star airlines back in the 80's a lot! The service and air hostesses are great. Just love Gulf Air!

Love that you finally flew with gulf air on their falcon gold service. I have flown with them in falcon gold 4 times this year from LHR-BKK. I am actually flying back with them on the 21st in falcon gold. Your right the service and hard product is amazing. I’m a bit of av geek too and I love your videos. Gulf Air used to be a very small airline. It was on the brink of disappearing from the business. Now it seems to be reviving its service.
I am an overseas worker in the middle east and I have tried mostly all of the airlines like Saudia, Etihad, Qatar, Kuwait Airways, Oman Air and Gulf Air. I love to fly and just being at the airport makes me happy. But I could not afford business class ever. So I just watch videos like yours and dream that one day in my life I could experience business or first class flights. The VIP service, the lounge, amenities and comfort. Haaaaah I hope one day I will. Thank you for sharing this video.

I have always liked your videos and have watched every single one of them. They are really amazing and I have one small suggestion. I used to like the part where you walk around and have a chat with the crew members, show us their life (Rugby player from Brunei Airlines, Biman crew, Vistara crew) and laugh with them, bring that part back. Also, thanks for showing us the real face of airlines like Malaysia Airlines, Air Canada etc,. I had always thought these airlines have best hospitality but thanks to you for letting me know the truth. Lastly, thanks for all the quality content. Always keep doing this great work and spread happiness mate. Your work is amazing.

Awesome video as always mate. The Gulf Air livery is seriously one cool livery. Very stylish & on trend. I think Gulf Air was actually the first airlines or one of them to actually introduce Sky Nanny's. James Hogan after leaving Gulf Air to start Etihad carrier Sky Nanny's across also to Etihad who still have them I think. Well they did in their glory days when they were once as a 5 star airline ;)
I flew london BKK via BAH with GF in 2017 in the old a330 biz class and although the hard product was dated, but still very comfy, the crew were outstanding, professional, friendly, and engaging. Couldn't fault them.
It is amazing to read the stories in your blog. Backpacking in Iran, Afghanistan, sleeping on the road, sleeping on the minefield, etc. I wouldn't be able to do that. You must have gained a lot of experiences from all of those journeys.
I am so glad that I found you. I love people who are willing to challenge corporate world. During this Covid time, I am using You Tube to travel. I live in Wilmington, NC., with my husband so we have a little weather disturbance tonight ie tropical storm/hurricane so these type videos help to de stress us. Really nice to see where Gulf Air sits in respect to other airlines nowadays. Very seldom hear about it.
Always had a soft spot for Gulf Air, they were my first ever long haul flight experience when i was 5yrs old when we moved out to the Middle East with my fathers work. That was 40yrs ago and always remember that tri-star with the old livery. It seemed so huge then.

As always, another great review 👍🏻. Inflight service looked great. Berries (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries are high in antioxidants). I can’t wait for your Skytrax review Josh. All my life, I’ve strived to be authentic and tell it as it is. Just had dinner with former colleagues of mine and they commented ... “No one could fault your clinical skills but sometimes we wondered if you just squeezed by in the bedside manner class” 😂😂😂 After 47 years of pediatrics, Im now recently retired.
