Yeah, i personally do not like how shippuden went. The beginning was interesting amd all but it went in a way i did not liked it as much. Thou i certainly enjoyed it more then boruto. that i have gave up even thou i really did give it a chance and watched a lot of episodes.

He still conducts experiments on sentient beings (cloning and having multiple instances of the same organism of different ages, all possessing the ability to feel and think). He looks differently than at the end of Naruto, which means he once again jumped into another body (whose it was? was it appoved, or just swept under the rug because even Naruto cant really do much about Orochimaru at this point, since the man doesnt know how to die?). He learned somehow the technique that allows him to straight up erase someone from existence without any visible effort from his part (that secretary villain from Kara arc), and do you think he only researched it theoretically? He performed it perfectly, which implies training. What or who was he erasing when mastering this move? He is still capable of breaking through the surveillance, coming to different countries on his own for his personal shady goals (returning Hashirama's cells, what does he need them for, just more sentient clones or something else entirely?). Nothing indicates that he isnt simply waiting for Naruto and Sasuke's power to go away or for them to die of an old age, because they are more or less the only people who can match him in fight at this point. Jiraya is dead, Tsunade spends her days healing and playing cards or whatever, and he lives long and perfects his craft. He is actually the best candidate for Hokage position if something happens to Naruto and Sasuke (which did), because Kakashi and Tsunade dont seem to be enthusiastic of taking over that position again, and noone from Naruto's generation or any of their descendants is powerful enough rn to protect the village. He also is a very counterintuitive choice, i'll give him that, and probably noone will ask him to become one, but if right now he decides to be one - who can even stop him?
He didnt abandon his dream to learn every jutsu possible, which also means he will have to do some more inhumane things if a new jutsu requiring it happens to exist, and also that means that he will have to surpass some limitations, like, he cant learn Susanoo if he doesnt wield sharingan, which is probably the main reason why he even was experimenting with Uchiha Shins. Which, by the way, created problems to the Leaf, but he did not care. He didnt keep track of his creations actions, he didnt intervene to put an end to their plans, he just created them and let them be somewhere, whatever. Because he doesnt care about the repercussions of his actions if they dont harm him personally in some way.
And what good did he do after that time he helped during the ninja war? I believe nothing. He isnt a part of Konoha's research group, and regrowing Naruto's hand or creating prosthetics or advancing medicine isnt his credit, at all. What he does in that lab of his doesnt benefit anyone but him. And who knows what he has planned in store.

What really made this fight insane for me was that 4 tails naruto was so pumped full of adrenaline and rage that he broke open his jaw, completely messed up his insides eating that tailed beast bomb, and then when he shot it not only did he destroy 3 massive gates stronger than any defense the show has given us yet, he left nothing behind from those gates or the land surrounding it. He obliterated his body and his surrounding for that one move
A comment about the jaw breaking sound is what I was looking for , hearing the sound and re-realising about it today. I cant believe it, this is what used to hype us back then, this little detail added creepiness to Kurama.
Also, Naruto didn't move from that one spot throughout the entire fight, even before this part.
Honestly part of me tells me that 4 tails Naruto had no idea what the tailed beast bomb was going to do....
Just look at how curiously he stares at that tailed beast bomb before cracking open his jaw and eating it. It gives the impression 4 tails Naruto thought that move was somehow going to heal him or boost his power.
Then came the derpy face once the bijuu bomb blew up inside him. Even then rather than panicking he held it in and let go once he aimed at Orochimaru.
And yes just as you said, a tailed beast bomb like that one should've obliterated Orochimaru, yet he somehow survived that when it straight up destroyed the rashomon, and everything in it.
By this point it was very clear that Naruto had surpassed Sasuke and possibly was at Itachi's level by then. Even a Susanoo from Itachi would struggle with a blast like that one.
If Naruto could control that power by now, the show would've ended 10 episodes later since this battle.

I always though Naruto at this state of mind actually thought that Tailed Beast Ball was going to somehow "Boost his strength if he were to eat it.
Notice how curious 4 tails Naruto looks at it before eating it, only to put up a derpy face once it blew up inside him.
*Thats when 4 Tails Naruto realized its purpose, held it in and let it out straight at Orochimaru which did was a direct hit and its surprising how Orochimaru barely survived that, a second one would've finished him off if it actually hit*
Edit: No wonder Orochimaru reacted that way, not even 4 tails Naruto knew what he was doing......
I'm sure at that point Orochimaru wasn't thinking oh this is bad he was more like "wait did he just get fatter"

Shippuden >< AOT both master pieces
AoT is way more consistent of a story. Shippuden is filled with plot holes, retcons, inconsistent animation, filler, filler in episodes with canon, super slow paced narrative. AoT has consistency in animation pacing story and no filler. That being said I’m not really a huge AoT Stan and I would say I like Naruto, but if someone asked me which they should watch I would tell them AoT.

The only morale i learnt from shippuden so far is "Clans keep increasing their defenses , hostility , developing new jutsu , training their soldiers to be more ruthless and less humane to beat other clans ... which in process made the toy maker akatsuki member childhood life to be miserable "

I love this scene; it shows just how powerful Kyubi cloak Naruto and Orochimaru are. To put this in perspective, it took BOTH Sakon and Ukon to summon just ONE Rashomon. Kiba used his strongest technique and only DENTED it. Orochimaru summoned *THREE* on his own and Naruto *DESTROYED THEM ALL.* Just a nice touch that hearkens back to an older scene, really showed the difference in power to me

Remember how they said the kyubi form breaksdown/changes his body to become the actual nine tails? Are we supposed to assume karuma snapped Nart's jaw open and exploded his body from the inside out just to shoot a giant DBZ blast at snake dude

Yes. That’s why the Kyuubi also gives Naruto a healing factor, to offset the hideous damage he does to the host, iirc.
Not exactly Kurama since Naruto is still in control of his body. What Kurama did is he suppressed Naruto's conscious mind and made him primal (For Kurama to be in control of Naruto's body, the latter had to break the seal which he almost did with Pain).
Thats why 4 Tails Naruto tried to eat that tailed beast ball. In his mind he probably thought it was going to heal him or boost his power.
Thats why when the bijou ball blew up inside him he made that derpy face. And even then 4 tails Naruto still held it in until he was certain it could hit Orochimaru and it did.
Just shows that even if Kurama suppressed Naruto's conscious mind, the latter still was clever to act on time and redirect the blast at Orochimaru.

I mean it was the first time anything interesting happened in Shippuden. Naruto had an issue with taking forever for anything to actually happen. It took Naruto like 400 episodes between Naruto and Shippiden to actually DO anything in a fight that didn't entirely rely on the fox. That was with the Pain fight.

During their fight with Kiba, Sakon & Ukon said that the Rashomon summoning was the strongest defense that Orochimaru possessed. A single Rashomon only got dented by Kiba’s strongest attack at the time. Here, 3 Rashomon summonings combined were wiped off the face of the earth as if they were never summoned. They didn’t just have a hole blown through them, they were completely vaporized. It’s crazy to think about how big the jump in the power scale was between the original Naruto series compared to the beginning of Shippuden.
And Madara used combined attack between tailed beast bomb and susanoo sword to destroy Hashirama's 5 Rashomon

You're kinda comparing some chunin to jonin guys to Orochimaru one of the Sannin, of course he will be much stronger than them.
Furthermore in OG the majority of the fights were between genins. You didn't see a high level ninja really going bonkers.

For those who didn’t understand the science behind the tail beast bomb, it was a small one yes, but with a nuke like explosion, he detonated it inside himself, tried to compress the explosion, compacted it, then released it all in one go, being more destructive

It’s more like he was a bit shocked on what he was looking at. He wasn’t actually scared.
He wasn’t scared he was visibly perplexed. But earlier in the fight he did realize he was in potential danger when all the chakra was amassed
The attention to detail when Orochimaru said ‘So that’s his move!’ heavily foreshadows his knowledge on Tailed Beast Bomb (Eight Tails specifically), Naruto sometimes astounds me when you rewatch it.
Boruto really makes you forget how much of a unit even a sliver of tailed beasts were

To be fair, when Naruto goes Kurama chakra mode in Boruto, he almost never needs to use Kurama save for Otsutsuki level threats.
In boruto all you need is karma seals and your already a top tier in the series.
Bijuu's are not relevant to the plot anymore, and there are otsutsuki's who are a bigger threat then bijuu themselves, so they're not scary now
In Naruto you only must have power of friendship or red eyes and you were god
The sheer power behind the bijudama is one of the most fearsome attacks in the series. The fact that that ability is able to vaporize anything it hits and everything behind it for about six miles or probably further is a testimony to how powerful the biju are
I just looove this soundtrack and how well it fits here. That slow build up from enigmatic situation, ominous notes from violin, up to the divine chorus.
This was one of the first few fights that gave me chills in naruto this one will always be remembered 😤

Jiraiya faced near death experience in training with Naruto in his 4 tailed mode and Orochimaru defended again most powerful attacks of 4 tailed. Not to down play Jiraiya but Orochimaru was no less than Jiraiya in power scale.

Kinda underrated take, when the first 53 eps had the worst pacing of the show. And it's commonly thought that Shippuden shows it's greatness after this arc.
So sad that there aren't any epic anime like this anymore. There's good stuff, but this stuff is just so memorable and sticks with you. I mean... just listen to that music too!

A reminder Orrochimaru is of a Kage level of shinobi - even without his jutsu, he is capable of being formidable
Naruto just being in possession of a Tailed beast is as dangerous as a Kage - however as he is here, he’s a danger to himself as to others.
It’s insane that the angrier Naruto is the more tails he’s growing. Now he can control the 9 tails chakra

This is an extremely underrated fight.
