I'm just a simple man. I read "Wood Carving Partita" and I see the video and click the like button. And I enjoy the melody. Thank you so much, beautiful interpretation.
Literally how i think of this piece. It sounds like it could have been easily written in the 1700s. You could get someone who has never heard of Castlevania, play them this song with no context and let them guess what time period it came from and most would guess 1700s. It's good to know the classical music genre is still made, even in the modern era (unfortunately it's no where near as popular as other genres). But I still love it. You mostly here this genre of music made for select video games for the most part. I wish it would make a comeback in popularity. More of the world needs to hear these nuggts of gold that is classical music. I'm having a hard time describing in words just how beautiful this music is.
I'm quite fond of 'The Tragic Prince'. It's so wonderfully retro (for 1997). Like the composer was calling back to the 1980s, in all their splendor. But this is also a terrific piece. Not too many game scores better than SOTN.
@@KaraComparetto Looking forward to more amazing renditions on the harpsichord, too. Might as well take advantage of it since you went through the trouble of setting it up!
Omg first moment I saw the video random feed in my youtube.. Went to watch it as this is a good popular castlevania piece. Saw the white hair, the harpsichord... thought it was someone new that I don't know anything about. Then I listen and I realize maybe I kinda recognize this type of musician... (I had heard you play this before although on piano) then after 30+ seconds I realize its you... Insert WTF moment, trolled and amazed at the same time. I mean wow what an amazing and different presentation but also performance for such a great piece of music and a fitting style and atmosphere!! And on a harpsichord to boot too ! I had no idea you would play on this instrument as well. You are full of great surprises. :O Great job Kara ! Dad's creation definitely made its way to the right person!
Everytime I replay Castlevania Symphony of the Night, I always smile when I reach the particular area where this track plays! Wonderful performance Kara and bravo 😀
From 1:34 to 1:54 This section is seriously close to the original I would not be able to tell the difference from the ost and I’ve invested several hundreds of house in sotn. Bravo!!!
Thank you! Yes I’m moving to a new house next month and I’m really hoping I can have enough space to leave it set up permanently, then maybe I’ll use it more 😁
Amazing performance, Kara! But Wudy stole the show 🤣🤣🤣 This is the beginning of the possible many interpretations on harpsichord, it sounds fantastic! ❤️
Wonderpul performance as always. The harpsichord has such a unique sound. Castelvania Symphony of the night has an excellent soundtrack. I hope this means we might be seeing more Castlevania pieces down the line.
That was so cool. Quite a change of pace compared to the piano, but the harpsichord sounded amazing and fit so well with this classic track. Well done, Kara, and great job on the editing as usual, Ninjafish!
The harpsichord is indeed a different animal. It's a bugger to keep mine in tune as well. Good performance practise for the style though, the gliss in the left hand was nicely delicate! P.S. I love the wig!
Wonderful. I just wanted to say, you probably thought when making this that it was only a bonus for the people who already watch your channel, but I was specifically searching for a cover of Wood Carving Partita, so I only found your channel because you covered this piece. All this to say, every piece of art we make means something in the end. Thank you!
wow this makes me happy! I feel like TH-cam is showing this to people lately, like it picked up in views, which makes me happy! I have plans to do more Castlevania in the near future with the addition of an organ!
It's really difficult to play all these sixteenth notes regulary on a harpsichord. I always do some faster and some slower... But you nailed it!! Lovely interpretation, but also piece selection! One of the most fitting VGM ever for this instrument!! Congrats.
I recently finished Symphony of the Night for the first time and loved the whole soundtrack, especially this song (which , in my opinion, is a masterpiece). Thanks for sharing this video with us.

Actually this style went out of fashion by 1750
It sounds like Domenico Scarlatti's harpsichord studies
Excellent playing! Your Tchaikovsky pulled me in, and now your Castlevania has caused me to stay.
