I'm a native Chinese, but I'm in America now ;) I love Castlevania, I'm a frantic fan of this series, I've cleared almost all Castlevania titled games. for the Nocturn in the Moonlight, yeh, I've played it at least 6 times on different platforms, SS, PS(3 times), PSP,emulation... so every music note from this game is in my head sooo deeply~
Hello I am the bigger fan your interpretation !! I play harpsichord, and I'd like to know where did you find the music sheet, because I only find bad or wrong sheets about this music.... Could you help me with that ? Thank you ! (≧▽≦)
Wood Carving Partitia is possibly the one Castlevania song that surpasses Bloody Tears in significance. I remember hearing it for the very first time as I entered the Long Library. I just sat there, transfixed. It's Michiru Yamane's masterpiece, and you do it such justice.
I love this song first time I listened to it. It just feels so good and such a fit for the Dracula's library~ and I've been playing this song from then on. It' in 1997!!! haha~
I will never understand how anyone can play dual handed songs on a keyboard instrjment. Using both hands to play identical rhythms is already impossible; for me, being able to play rhythmically differing parts, dual handed and in tandem is about as likely as an individual born without eyesight comprehending what a color looks like. Taking that into account, the amazement felt by me while watching this is comparable to witnessing someone turn a seed into a tree by vigorously scowling at it! The fact that it's played on a real harpsichord only adds to the quality.
REGIFISHY Tbh, it's very confusing at first, but eventually, if you keep repeating the 2 rhythms on both hands slowly, you'll slowly get it, then increase the tempo, too. I've been doing this, especiall, 3/4 signature, it's very hard!
i have found multi rhythms to be my thing but i am also not very experience with piano and all i know is when i touched a piano like two years ago i could to to actually learn piano but i can't afford a teacher and i want to be creative not a robot
This is one of my favorite songs from the whole Castlevania series. Thank you so much for playing such a classic work of art within this childhood game genre of mine!
I've never played Castlevania, but hearing this makes me wish I had. I was always into FF and Zelda games. You did such a great job with this music. Bravo!
I think I'm one of the rare cases that found this video before even playing the game, back in 2008 one good friend that always listened to video game music had the OG song from the game in his mp3 player, I used to borrow his player since I always enjoyed the mix of VG music and classical music myself, when I heard this song I just became addicted to it. Then I found this incredible performance on youtube. Finally I played Castlevania SOTN for the first time, what a game and what a musical score, those were the days! Thank you GinaGu for uploading this, from 2008 to this day I still listen it from time to time.
To say that you have a great talent and a tremendous gift would be a gross understatement. Your rendition of this piece is nothing short of phenomenal. I love music that is played on a real harpsichord and I'm sure I don't have to tell you that it is a commodity that is nearly impossible to come by. I truly enjoy your playing and hope you will continue to deliver such beautiful music on a true piece of auditory-sculpture. Thank you for posting this piece.
@@eriol33 don't know for sure. They had one in the music room I worked in at high school. I played drums and keyboard. It had like, three lines of keys. Strange.
A guy was playing Bach on harpsichord and I thought, I wonder what SOTN sounds like on the harpsichord. This is the first one I decided to listen to, and likely the last. You absolutely nailed this song.
Your ghost is very talented mine just knocks things over and looks at me while I'm trying to sleep, you taught yours to duet with you on Piano. Beautiful!
I still keep coming back after all these years. Castlevania's original track is a masterpiece but hearing you play it on the harpsichord brings a whole different dimension to the piece.
This is one of my favorite songs from SotN (and probably my favorite in the whole series), and watching this video was simply freaking perfect. Really, you've totally made my day!! Congratulations for being so awesome!!!
This is amazing. I've never actually seen a harpsichord being played, and this seems 100% perfect. It sounds identical (if not even better) than in the game, and the harpsichord itself is a beautiful instrument. It's just amazing watching this video and listening to the music. It's indescribable. And of course Michiru Yamane is a composing genius. Her and Nobuo Uematsu are my favourite VG soundtrack composers.
Awesome video, great soundtrack, one of my favorite games . Keep on with the great work! It really made my day! The ghost hands add a suitable touch to a sotN piece.
AWESOME! I love this song! It's one of my favorite pieces ever, and definitely my favorite castlevania tune. I think the tempo should be just a LITTLE bit faster, but whatever, I LOVE it! And I love you too for playing it so brilliantly! XD
This is the kind of music that makes me shed a tear for the good times. and even though, this game still kicks any other Castlevania's butt. You can play it on 360, but I'll never forget when I got this for PlayStation....The graphics, the MUSIC, the weapons, the castle, the difficulty....perfect.
This music is a masterpice! It blends perfectly with the library scenario. Specially when apears those huge halls on the background. So misterious, anxious yet "forwarding" sensations. SOTN has trully the best musics on the game world...
i dunno why but it always gives me a shock whenever i see videogame music being played live. like, my brain just doesn't want to connect the two things.
OK, I've NEVER played this game or any other, so I am marveling at your arranging/playing/videographer skills of their own accord! The secret to transcribing music is to make it sound like it was written for the instrument. I would swear this was harpsichord music! Well done! And who built this harpsichord, it it excellent also. Keep up the good work!
So cool revisiting VG music from childhood now that I know more about music. They don't compose 'em like this anymore. I was actually afraid all the youtube covers were going to be on piano, so glad I was wrong. Thanks for making it possible to hear it on the proper instrument, it's very Scarlatti-esque.
I really dont get why people dislike great vids like this... I think that jealousy blinds them to the point of hitting dislike instead of like... Poor souls!
This, a glass of wine, a monocle, a fancy hat and a good book. The definition of classy.

Rewatching this in 2023. Amazing back then and as soothing to my ears as those 14 years ago.
Hope you make new videos at some point!
Hearing this on an actual harpsichord is just per-fect! No disgusting legato or pedal, just mathematical clarity! I love it!
actually that model of harpsichord has 1 pedal i think
The harpsichord isn't really about mathematical clarity...
cringe comment

I need your help.
This is so baroque, it makes me shit powdered wigs.
Mas na verdade essa música mais aparente ser barroca do que realmemte é. Sua estrutura é mais uma mistura de classica com pop.
This is one of my favorite songs from the whole Castlevania series. Thank you so much for playing such a classic work of art within this childhood game genre of mine!
One of the best Castlevania covers I've heard in youtube

The Harpsichord has such a rich timbre, it really is something special.
Not just a beautifully played piece, but perhaps the single most beautiful instrument I have ever seen. Those keys are a joy to behold.
Listening to Bach always gives me a nostalgic feeling.
Listening to this gives me that same feeling.
I love this piece, I love the whole SOTN soundtrack and I LOVE harpsichord *-*
