Does he really get misunderstood ? The general viewpoint of him is that he’s a great player , leader and he’s been coin the nickname the “ Point-God”. Misunderstood goes to a player like Westbrook , the hatred that people have for him is different. People love to see him fail.

The Dubs gave up at least 2 easy layups. The strategy works against you because it is fear-based. Analytics doesn't account for emotion or fatigue for that matter. Fear of fouls. Fear of media criticism. Fear of an opponent whose ass you beat the entire game. One of Podz best characteristics is he isn't scared at AT ALL. If Steph fouls out, see you next game. That is also why you don't do things early in the game like take fouls among other things. Won't give it all away cause coaches be in here peeking. When I played in high school, I had a "roll the ball out coach". We had super talent but always lost to smart teams in the tournament; teams like the 98 Jazz that some say were scrubs but would smash your favorite team for kicks. Anyways, I then arrived at college where I played for a MASTER TECHNICIAN. He hailed from the Division III ranks where you have to make it happen with virtually no talent. We always bumped heads because I wanted to run and jump and shake and bake, which in my mind was how the game was supposedto be played. It wasn't until my third year that it sank in: basketball has real strategy. Dammit! I had no clue. All that time on the wrong path. Once I realized it, though, my whole world shifted. I still had sauce, but kept it in a bag off to the side. I got into the mind game and the mind games. It is an extremely, extremely deep subject. Azibuke mentioned the other day that Chip Engelland works for OKC now. Now we know why they all shoot the same. He is the best...that YOU know about. They're in Boston still trying to figure out Jaylen Brown's left hand. Good luck boys. It only took 10 years to figure out mine while putting a Kobe-like work ethic on the case. In traditional basketball strategy the Point Guard is the safety valve to stop a transition fastbreak so shot goes up Point Guard goes back on defense. New trend is shot goes up all the offense is crashing for the rebound meaning their defenders have to go with them which 1 helps get more rebounds and 2 stops/slows the transition/breakaway also.

Like now most teams are shooting a quick 3 while the defense is scrambling to get set when they get an offensive rebound because they only have 14 seconds. Kinda like a new 2 for 1 opportunity. Whereas before if you got the o reb you'd kick it back out and run a play against a set half court defense because you used to have 24 seconds
