Due to the still lingering prestige of the Parthian language as well as the political standing of the Parthian noble houses in the Empire, inscriptions were often written in both Persian and Parthian, and this is the case with this inscription. Whilst the Persian version of the inscription is now damaged and illegible, the Parthian one is intact, and therefore the sung lyrics here are in the Parthian language; an interesting example of the multi-ethnic and multicultural reality of Ancient Iran. Keep in mind that there are virtually no guides on Parthian pronunciation available anywhere, so I simply projected modern phonetics unto the text; the same way Shakespeare is often read in a Modern English accent and not the period one Shakespeare himself would have used. The music is written mostly in the style of modern orchestral and symphonic Iranian music of the 20th century. A santour as well as a historical war horn are also featured, as well as daf drums. it is fascinating for me how many languages once existed and today language cease to exist which i find sad as each language is a door to knowledge and Soul of the People .

I met Italians this spring and we spent three days conversing in different languages; me in Occitan and them in Italian and perfectly understood each other. Looking at the massive similarities between Parthian and Middle-Persian, it seems to be a similar case
The word "Farang" was also used in Persian language to refer to Western Europeans, mainly the French and the Germans. The term is derived from the word "Frank," which was the ethnicity those people belonged to. This term became popular after the first crusade when the French and German crusaders arrived in the Middle East, and was often used to refer to Crusaders in general. Also, the West European region was called "Farangestan" up until 20th century, translated to "the place where Franks live."

Some say that he besieged the Persian capital Tisfun (Ctesiphon) but failed to take it, and others say that he was routed by the Persian forces near the Jewish town of Nehardea, which was located on the banks of the Euphrates some 120 km north-west of Tisfun (Ctesiphon).
Shapur I was an awesome king I think there are 6 victory reliefs and inscriptions in pars province created by him which means he has more victory reliefs and inscriptions than any other sassanian shahanshah

He did manage to defeat Shapur I and capture his baggage train which had to be ransomed substantially. The emperors Shapur I had defeated were Gordian III and Philip the Arab.
It's truly remarkable that even though the script was written in classical Pahlaw language (Parthian), it was quite intelligible to me as a Persian speaker Tajik with a Mazari (Balkhi accent). While it may not be possible to translate it word for word, I could understand the meaning of each sentence to a significant extent just by listening, even without the English translation. This experience was incredibly emotionally fulfilling. In my opinion, the Sasanians feel like the Kayanians reborn, and I hold them in higher regard than the Achaemenids and Arsacids. The fact that the 1800-year-old Parthian word for "when" - "kaδ" is cognate with my modern Serbian "kad" really makes me happy for some reason lol. Obviously being 1800 years and a linguistic branch apart, you can nonetheless still find this glimmer of the Indo-European connection and it makes the song seem closer. Just like Parthian/Persian "ud" and English "and."
In addition to Shapur's inscribed exploits here (details may vary), he also defeated and captured Emperor Valerian and his entire army. He held Valerian captive, and putting the captured army to work (all ancient Roman armies are also unbelievable engineers), their handiwork may still be admired in Iran today in what still remains of the _Band-e Kaisar_ or _Pol-e Kaisar;_ Caesar's Dam or Caesar's Bridge.

I don't know if you came across it, but I found a website that has quite a bit of info on the subject, it also has sources, so you don't have to take it at face value. The site is actually dedicated to the Cantigas de Santa Maria, it is specifically meant for singers, I guess, for those who want to do historically informed performances. The person who runs it seems keen on proper pronunciation of the songs. Wikipedia's English page on Galician-Portuguese also has some info and some sources, but comparatively very few. I hope you do some more Cantigas, I am, to be honest, more interested in the Cantigas of the profane variety. I went looking for them and ended up reading a couple of the cantigas de escárnio e maldizer (insult and mockery), and they were both hilariously more crass than I expected. It would be fun to see those sung. TH-cam might not like it though. There is a Portuguese website (from a Portuguese university) with all of them transcribed and other information as well, some of them have an English translation. I don’t think many are translated, though. For those who can read Portuguese, it is pretty great as there are a lot of annotations to the Cantigas that clarify things a bit. One of the Cantigas that I was amused by was “Abadessa, oí dizer” by Afonso Anes do Cotom; this one has an English translation. Shapur yekom is my favourite shahanshah after Cyrus the Great and Ardashir Papakan. Edit: But I don't understand something; In middle Persian, which is also used in the thumbnail, his name is spelled Shhpwhwy (Šhpuhry), but the romanized version suggests that it's read as "Šābuhr". And from what I can understand, apparently middle persian is the opposite of French; They would say the letters, but not write them. Or use the same letter for a different sound. Not to mention they have like 3-5 different ways of writing. :)))))))))))) Can someone explain this to me?
Many Iranian languages pre-Islamic-conquest were written in the Pahlavi script, an abjadic script derived from the Aramaic one. Abjadic scripts generally have very few, if any, letters that represent vowels, which are instead inferred by context. Or if you're a young person or a non-native speaker trying to learn a language that uses such a script, dots and similar diacritics will be added as so-called matres lectionis. Another thing that may be adding to the discrepancy here is that, although the text in the thumbnail is in Middle Persian, the song itself is in Parthian, since, on the bilingual monumental inscription Shapur had built, that was the basis for the lyrics, the Parthian version is fully in tact, while the Persian version has suffered a bit of damage.

He did manage to defeat Shapur I and capture his baggage train which had to be ransomed substantially. The emperors Shapur I had defeated were Gordian III and Philip the Arab.
It's truly remarkable that even though the script was written in classical Pahlaw language (Parthian), it was quite intelligible to me as a Persian speaker Tajik with a Mazari (Balkhi accent). While it may not be possible to translate it word for word, I could understand the meaning of each sentence to a significant extent just by listening, even without the English translation. This experience was incredibly emotionally fulfilling. In my opinion, the Sasanians feel like the Kayanians reborn, and I hold them in higher regard than the Achaemenids and Arsacids. This is your best Iranian work so far. Dear Farya, thank you for your existence and for sharing your Yazataic melodies with us.

The fact that the 1800-year-old Parthian word for "when" - "kaδ" is cognate with my modern Serbian "kad" really makes me happy for some reason lol. Obviously being 1800 years and a linguistic branch apart, you can nonetheless still find this glimmer of the Indo-European connection and it makes the song seem closer. Just like Parthian/Persian "ud" and English "and."

In addition to Shapur's inscribed exploits here (details may vary), he also defeated and captured Emperor Valerian and his entire army.
He held Valerian captive, and putting the captured army to work (all ancient Roman armies are also unbelievable engineers), their handiwork may still be admired in Iran today in what still remains of the _Band-e Kaisar_ or _Pol-e Kaisar;_ Caesar's Dam or Caesar's Bridge.

You said in the description that you didn't find much about old Galician-Portuguese pronunciation. As a Portuguese person, I also got curious, so I went looking for something. I don't know if you came across it, but I found a website that has quite a bit of info on the subject, it also has sources, so you don't have to take it at face value. The site is actually dedicated to the Cantigas de Santa Maria, it is specifically meant for singers, I guess, for those who want to do historically informed performances. The person who runs it seems keen on proper pronunciation of the songs. Wikipedia's English page on Galician-Portuguese also has some info and some sources, but comparatively very few.
I hope you do some more Cantigas, I am, to be honest, more interested in the Cantigas of the profane variety. I went looking for them and ended up reading a couple of the cantigas de escárnio e maldizer (insult and mockery), and they were both hilariously more crass than I expected. It would be fun to see those sung. TH-cam might not like it though. There is a Portuguese website (from a Portuguese university) with all of them transcribed and other information as well, some of them have an English translation. I don’t think many are translated, though. For those who can read Portuguese, it is pretty great as there are a lot of annotations to the Cantigas that clarify things a bit. One of the Cantigas that I was amused by was “Abadessa, oí dizer” by Afonso Anes do Cotom; this one has an English translation.
On another note, would it be alright if I used some of your music in some videos I'm planning on making? Of course, with proper attribution.

Shapur yekom is my favourite shahanshah after Cyrus the Great and Ardashir Papakan.
Edit: But I don't understand something; In middle Persian, which is also used in the thumbnail, his name is spelled Shhpwhwy (Šhpuhry), but the romanized version suggests that it's read as "Šābuhr".
And from what I can understand, apparently middle persian is the opposite of French; They would say the letters, but not write them.
Or use the same letter for a different sound.
Not to mention they have like 3-5 different ways of writing.

Many Iranian languages pre-Islamic-conquest were written in the Pahlavi script, an abjadic script derived from the Aramaic one. Abjadic scripts generally have very few, if any, letters that represent vowels, which are instead inferred by context. Or if you're a young person or a non-native speaker trying to learn a language that uses such a script, dots and similar diacritics will be added as so-called matres lectionis.
Another thing that may be adding to the discrepancy here is that, although the text in the thumbnail is in Middle Persian, the song itself is in Parthian, since, on the bilingual monumental inscription Shapur had built, that was the basis for the lyrics, the Parthian version is fully in tact, while the Persian version has suffered a bit of damage.
