    I have this setup on my 75 vette. The steering is tighter and it turns with little steering wheel rotation.
    I would recommend it.

      @@michaelstratton6701 Ebay. It didn't come with the hoses but you can order those separately. It takes the old pitman arm and two hoses connect it to the stock PS pump. You will need a power valve clevis to screw onto the relay rod to replace the power valve. The steering wheel shart will need to collapse because the Borgeson unit has a longer snout. You will need a Borgeson rag joint for the input shaft because the stock rag joint doesn't have the right splines.

    I have the Borgeson on my ‘69 Corvette that did not have power steering. What a difference! Easy to steer, and quicker steering. I put a smaller diameter, thicker rim steering wheel on too, feels more like a modern car.

    put a new steering column in my car and the shaft was too short, did not know the shaft was adjustable, thanks for this video

    Appreciate the video. This is hands down the best thing I've done to my C3. My stock setup was leaking and the gearbox had some play in it. This is a bit more expensive to do but seriously, it's worth the time and effort.

    Nice video. Think I’m gonna go with steeroids rack and pinion setup. I know you loose the “feel” of the road with a rack system but it works and is effortless to turn especially when parking or tight spaces

      Feedback on your "steeroids r&p set up, do you like it?
      My 81 is due for a new steering box and rad joint. M research tells me rebuild steering boxes are at best junk rebuilds.

    A well done video. I watched it several times before installing the system in my C3. It would have been nice if the tools needed like a 33mm socket to remove the pitman nut, wouild have been mentioned. It would have saved me some time. I did mine alone, so removed the brake reservoir to allow good access to the rag joint and hose connections, and to permit lowering the sector in from the top with a rope and pulley rig.

    Wow, from all the other work you guys were doing there, retracting the steering column / Wheel is four bolts. And a multi clip electrical. I don't much like collapsing the columns either. However if you remove the 2 bolts at the fire wall and the two bolts under the dash you can just pull the entire assembly back and rest the wheel on the seat.

      Hi, I know this was an old post, but you are saying that if I remove the 2 column bolts inside the cabin on the firewall above the pedals plus the 2 other blots on the column holding it immediately under the dash, that then I can easily move the column front and back so as to fit the rag joint in?

    Just bought the Borgeson box, hoses and rag joint last month.
    I’m going to get a new power steering pump assembly and in line filter, so everything will be new.
    My OEM unit leaks so bad that the fluid is gone in about a mile.

      Ours was a leaky and loose SOB also. It is a very rewarding kit, so take your time with the install. The results will be worth it!

    I'm leery of beating on the column of my 81, is there room for it to go 'in'? I read somewhere someone had to 'cut' the excess off!
    However a bigger problem... these kits are "out of stock"!
    Today I directly called Borgeson and I appreciate their reps honesty.
    The rep told me "Ray, it could take over 20 weeks until we get a bulk of Jeep cores in before we can make several kits up." They do a bulk of them at once, not just one, and there are no Jeep Cores out there.
    I first called Summit, they 'kinda' lied to me stating "Borgeson makes those kits to order and that's why it could take a few-weeks" ... that was a lie.

    I will be testing one in a few weeks on the 74 Project I am working on. I would recommend you save the original power steering stuff, they are valuable cores for rebuilds.

    I wish I had seen this before I bought the Steeroids kit. They make a good set up, but has some nagging issues. This looks like it might be a better path to follow. Its is defiantly less money.

      @@WrenchesRides The OEM system was a JOKE! And the Mustang and Pontiac guys had this SCUD dropped on them in some models as well. Whomever thought the original system was good idea should be shot, how it got green lighted in the first place is a complete mystery. I am a Tech and have been all my life. The first time I drove a Vette with this system on it, I thought it had a MAJOR front end issue. And aligning these pig$ wa$ and $till is a nightmare. Jon Davis (Motor week) did a review on the 78 and the 81 C3 back in the day,,, you can still find it on YT. They HATED it too. These things even tended to leak in the showrooms!

    Great video with the engine out. I have an 82 corvette and I think the steering ratio is 2 and 3/4 turns lock to lock. Does anyone know if the borgeson has the same ratio?

    Great video. I had one installed in my C3 1978, but it has very, very little assistance and it does not return to center. Any solutions? For the lack of assistance, could it be that I am using the OEM original pump (only around 900 PSI?). My pump does not leak or make any noises. Should I get a 1200 - 1350 range pump instead? This is for a daily driver. Also, what alignment specs do you recommend (again, daily driver). Thanks!

      No. We just had all of ours out/off due to an engine build.

      I would have to assume so. They are very simple to install and any auto mechanics shop should be able to complete the install. Do you have any dedicated Corvette shops around?

      This one works well and will not leak as long as you do not use the treads to push in the brass collars.

    Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars, trucks including classics will be banned
    from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
    Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
    on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas
    station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be
    banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine
    and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027
    on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any
    longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.
