Nice vlog guys and some quality photos, I've been home a week now after a recent trip there driving round the South and East coast and this brings it all back. Time to save for my next trip to this wonderful country.
Enjoyed watching your video. You guys looked like you had an amazing time and there is something very endearing about you both. Your photography is superb. I'm taking my daughter there soon - not sure that we will be in a camper van though! Any advice appreciated.
Thanks for all the kind words! It was the only place I have ever "fallen in love with". It was the best trip I have ever done by far! Recommendations: have at least 9 or 10 nights to go all the way around. Gas is expensive so budget for that. Here is a list of places that I wanted to go to: drive.google.com/open?id=1Y6KjFAgIVGaxxalSQuvqDFUGtoM&usp=sharing I would highly recommend doing it in a camper though. It was the best way to truly see Iceland!
Hey, great video! I was just wondering approximately how much the entire trip cost. I plan on travelling around the world after school, and want to make sure I have enough to stop by this amazing country.
Could you please tell me the name of the beach/area you camped at that had the horses roaming free and the baby horse? It's stunning and I want to ensure I include that area on my trip this year. Thank you.
Your video was awesome!! Really enjoyed watching it, hope to visit Iceland soon 😎 ... Hey one question, did you use am ND filter plus polarized on the waterfall Kirkjufellsfoss ?? Loved that photo a lot 😉👍👍
Dude in summer it is 22 hour sunlight. Just relax and drive till whenever and camp. Rest up and hike until late at night. Always leave a hike plan and contact. Other than that do everything evil or fun all night and as far as you will go. Cheers and life is fun remeber that!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video, very informative. How "worth it" would you say the northern part of the ring road is? That seems to be the area with the most driving-only time, between east and west Iceland. Planning a trip for next summer and trying to decide whether to skip northern Iceland for more time in southern/eastern or not...
Thank you! I used a combination of ND and Polarizer filters. I had a 3 and a 9 stop ND, and a BW CP. Make sure you bring a tripod and a few lens cloths, because the lens will get wet most of the time when shooting waterfalls! I think the average exposure was somewhere around 5-15 seconds. Hope that helps!
thanks - yes very helpful - I got some new Lee ND Grads, for the trip mto add to my little (6stop) and big (10stop) stoppers. - I also added the polarizer kit (I have the standard screw on to lens type) - I'm so excited to go...20 days in Iceland is a dream. ?Sorry for my ignorance what is a BW CP?
I cant remember exact numbers, but they wanted me to put down a deposit of $1600 (or so) that is the value of the deductible in case of an accident, or they wanted me to do the comprehensive insurance that was like an additional $400-500 more than what I was expecting. They said nothing about this on their website that was obvious. It was just bad because I don't have that high of a credit line since I am young so I had to do the additional insurance. I had to get the car and they knew that so they just added on those fees. It was sneaky. The car rental was like 25% more expensive than what I was quoted online.
Loved the video! By the way, from where to where did you travel on DAY 5? I'm planning my trip from April 27- May 9 in 2019. Hope the weather will be same!
Me and a friend of mine are going in april and we are debating getting a van like you did. What was roughly the van cost and how cold was it to sleep in? Thanks.
Hey that is amazing really inspired me i already had a plan for this summer but i had to change it after seeing this video i have a couple questions regarding "Camping" were do you park your car is it allowed to camp anywhere is there any Toilets on the road 😂 Best
Thanks! It is awesome to hear that I inspired someone! And to answer your questions: Yes, you can park pretty much everywhere. Some places will have a sign saying no camping, so just respect that. But yeah anywhere that is off a main road (essentially you can park anywhere that you wont be blocking or intruding anyone's property or space). And always leave the place you camped "nicer than you left it" (pick up your trash). As for toilets, there are a bunch of gas stations/rest stops so we never really ran into a problem. We always had a roll of toilet paper though in the van. Whenever there is a proper "campground" they will normally have a shower that you can use for like $2 and we used that whenever we came across them.
Sorry for the late response. We stopped at campgrounds either every day or every other day. It was $2 to take a shower. The natural hot springs also help a little bit.
Sorry for the late response. But we had a car 12v dc to 120v ac adaptor that we had everything plugged into while we were driving. It was an absolute lifesaver. I got one that had 2 ac plugs and 2 usb plugs.
Peter Langley as far as I know this technically isn't camping. It's technically just parking because we didn't set up any tents or anything. And all of our waste and trash was brought with us as disposed of properly when we could find a trash can.
What an exciting trip!!! Amazing place....Iceland. Enjoyed watching your video. Very well done!
It was for sure a trip of a lifetime! I am glad you enjoyed the video!

Hi Mark, what was that hot (or cold) spring called at 19:30? And was it too cold for bathing or was it only the air temperature that was cold?
Great video. Very Nice photography as well :)
Could you tell me at what location 25:05 is shot?

Wild camping is illegal in Iceland. What did you do with your waste!!
