It feels weird that there's no cap on that unit whatsoever, maybe allowing it to be produced only in the landmark like the ozutsus or the royal artillery pieces, would make more sense? Or a hard cap of 10-15 units? I don't know, to me this monstrosity shouldn't even exist in the first place. Of all the ways to balance the game the choice they made makes the less amount of sense imho. Even though I guess it's not even the most busted thing we've ever seen in aoe4.
The other funny thing with lanchesters law is that stronger units have a tendency to take out orders of magnitudes of weaker units. Since, the weaker units have a tendency to lose damage output more rapidly as they sustain damage. So the imperial cavalry for the legacy is insane because you can make them a third stronger after they already are the strongest, meaning the mass you need to kill 20 of them is absolutely insane.
D'Arc means 'Of Arc'. Jeanne/Joan lived in a period of relatively volatile writing. Her name may have been D'Arc or Darc or Dart or Tart, we aren't super sure. Her father was named Tart at her trial. The name she was referred to growing up was Jeanne, and the name she carried into battle was 'Jeanne d'Ay de Domremy', and the name she used herself (and preferred, by all accounts) was Jeanne la Pucelle, or 'Joan the Maiden'. Funfact, her birthplace, Domremy, has since been renamed Domremy-la-Pucelle in her honor. She is sainted as la Pucelle d'Orleans. TL;DR, refer to her as 'Joan' or 'Jeanne' if you want to not be corrected by weird french people on the internet. The French will fight over anything.
went song 3 TC + water eco in a 4v4 the other day and then massed these things with ming dynasty + divine charge. I eco'd so hard some of the enemy players were still castle - I think i ran 50 of these guys into a full army of castle spears and archers and lost like 4 lmao
So, what if Zhu Xi's legacy... You skip Song Dynasty, instead you go FC and then make second castle age landmark, both 15% cheaper... or... FI and all landmark (so every Age up) is cheaper?
Song is too damn good. 40% wood discount on non military allows you extremely cheap farm transition+way cheaper TCs as was shown in the video. It's just not worth it to stick to tang.
I think Tang FC into Song could be pretty strong against boom civs like HRE. Pick up relics with those Shaolin monks that can beat every other Feudal unit and then turtle or go 2nd TC and units. I need to test that.
I like at the 29 minute mark Xi legacy player has 50+ knights and pink player doesn’t have a single spear, just keeps producing archers and horsemen…kinda deserved the L at that point
Hey Drongo, i used to see your videos for a while, it's my first comment on your channel, I love your videos. About your pronunciation, I am french and it's almost perfect, but u keep saying "DJeanne" there is no "D" before the J, that's all and honestly your pronunciation is not a problem AT ALL Don't stop the casts by the way, I love it !
who's having a go about pronunciation? stuff those people, everyone has a different way of saying things with their own dialect. as long as people know what you're meaning to say, pronunciation doesn't matter! Thanks for your content, love it

The vowel in Jeane is more of a "ah", like in "bar". Perfect pronunciation otherwise.
You can pronounce things however you want because the aoe4 community follows your lead cos frankly you're the best in the business so pick your way now and watch it get cemented in the casting realm.
I mean Imperial Guard is still just a Cataphract's little brother... combined with the new maps, which are extremely open in team games/ffa, we found ourselves in another cav era
I think it's balanced, you need to get to imperial and then research them in 1 landmark, then need to build the other imperial landmark to give them +20% more dmg, they also cost 140/140. If you let Zhu Xi get double imperial landmark, you deserve to lose
It's not that simple. The imperial guard requires an age 4 landmark, an upgrade on said landmark in which you're sacrificing another upgrade you could get like fire lances on your horsemen and spearmen or stronger crossbows and Zhu Ge Nu, or mini Great Bombards.
how long till the casters give in to logic and just call the variants by their maden civ names..... NOBODY cares if you call joan fart french or sushi legacy china.... Only time it matters is intro/pregame.
Mate, your content is an absolute ripper! You have me coming back for more, consuming every vid flat out like a lizard drinking. After consuming a few frothy boys you are the antidote to the empty can. Your builds are next level, the Aussie servers are filled with Drongo fans
You're still pronouncing it wrong. Google shows you American and British English pronunciation. You should check videos of Native French pronunciation.
1:10 Joan of Arc, the English version, is totally acceptable. (Yes, I decided that.) The French, Jeanne d'Arc, looks more difficult than it is, though. What I've heard many caster say sounds like John d'Arc - that's pretty close, except there's no O in Jeanne. And you can ignore the E's, they're just there for French reasons. Jann. "ʒan", phonetically. The A sound is a bit tricky, it shouldn't be too short, but not too long either.
@brokensky2378 there were 45 civs in aoe2 a game released in 1999. Adding 2 civs in 2023 is a bit dissapointing. The most annoying part, the variants are just so buffed, and it really affects you if you don't pay for the patch. Just think how ridiculously unbeatable Order of the Dragon 🐉 is.
P2w lmao, dude it’s cheap as fuck. They deserve the 12 dollars or whatever it is. P2W is games with pack/chests with ultra low success rates of drops. These guys need paying in order to keep giving us content. It’s an expansion. If you don’t like the game enough to pay for an expansion. You have no right to whine about the state of the game imo.
One of the best updates, the game is now on another level, personally I'm stick to Japanese civilization top top
Japan has revived the game for me and I still want to try 3 other civs! Goodluck this season!
As a french main, imperial guards trigger me. It doesn't feel fair at all 😢
well buhu
Sacre bleu!
Makes me so happy to hear how enthused drongo is about this expansion. Can’t get enough of these casts. What a time to be alive!
feels weird that china now has the best cav unit in the game in addition to all the other stuff they have anyway.
A lot of mediocre buildings and units after so many rounds of nerfing.
It feels weird that there's no cap on that unit whatsoever, maybe allowing it to be produced only in the landmark like the ozutsus or the royal artillery pieces, would make more sense? Drongo, I loved your cast for the 2v2 game plz do more 2v2. Thanks ✌🏽
Jeanne is pronounced like Jan but with a soft j (without the D sound if that makes sense). Maybe something like Zhan? Anyways cool videos Drongo :))
my favorite historical figure, John on Arc

Someone needs to make a meme of Zhu Xi wearing those pink sweatpants that say "Juicy" on them
So excited for outback octagon with all the new civs
27:17 looks like the horseman is riding on clouds
Wow, truly JUICY legacy
Confused by how the resource per minute is calculated for the meditation garden. Is there a multiplier being added to what is stated per resource?

that imperial guard build up is the RTS version of "end him rightly"

Nerf
Can’t you trade when they turtle-boom, or is that too simple?
New to this game, can anyone tell me what the benefit of making more than one town centre is please? Thanks.
It allows you to make more villagers faster
More villages -> more resourses -> faster development and more army

Don't stop the casts by the way, I love it !
And emphasize the "A" sound, the J is pronounced like the Chinese "Zh". So Zh-Ah-N-Eh D'Arc
I wish the game had scenario editor so I could test it for myself.
May i share some clips to tiktok please your name will apear
Absolutely nuts old mate didn't build mangos 🤷

feels bad when you go for a timing attack, then you get repelled and your opponent still hits castle first. ouch baby very ouch
Pink should have quit about twenty or thirty minutes earlier lol. Such a painful long drawn out defeat!
As your fan since AoE3 DE i think you talked about Lanchaster's law i nAoE4 video at least 4 times
Finally a Rharesh video! Keep going drongo!
Rharesh definitely is an underrated top tier player
Will you do match ups like Old France vs new France and Old HRE vs New HRE?
I feel like Ayyu Gamba would chew through Juicy.
What is the advantage to put your walls so close to your buildings ?
bring back the Octagon pls

How does zhu zi legacy fare gainst order of the dragon
joanne of dark..
Meditation gardens looks so weird in this biome
I mean Imperial Guard is still just a Cataphract's little brother...
combined with the new maps, which are extremely open in team games/ffa, we found ourselves in another cav era
new china is just broken
Slight nerf for imperial guard seems best, the difference with other cav is too big.
I think it's balanced, you need to get to imperial and then research them in 1 landmark, then need to build the other imperial landmark to give them +20% more dmg, they also cost 140/140. If you let Zhu Xi get double imperial landmark, you deserve to lose
dont even nerf just make them cost 2 pops.
@@brightestlight9462that’s a massive nerf
@@smoggins what i mean is that can be instead of a huge nerf to their stats
Wow what a war 🥳🥳
I hope they dont nerf the Imperial Guard power , just increase cost, 140f 140g for a unit vastly stronger than Lancer/Knight is unbelievable.
There is a landmark and an expensive upgrade to get access to it. It's not simply 140-140

Instead of adding new civilizations, they just ruined the game buffing the existing ones and make it p2w.
They just added Byzantines and japan what are you on about?
I disagree so far for the most part. I have the same win rate after my placement matches as last season even with new civs.
