Great video! We are in the process of remodeling a 30 year old 28 foot RV and we live in it full-time as well. Granted, we live a stationary lifestyle (our dream is to travel one day but for now it's about being close to our daughter and new granddaughter) but we live whole tiny space full-time lifestyle in every other way.
Thanks for sharing your home and how you made it work for you. We have been camping for many years now. Started with tents, moved up to a huge pop up with two large queen plus beds and a slide, and now have a 35' travel trailer we gave to each other as our Christmas present in 2015. Learning the ins and outs of the amenities we did not have with the pop up. Like sewer lines, huge fridge and freezer, 3 slides, and just the workings of getting it set up properly to be able to have maximum enjoyment with minimal hassle. I like the idea of doing a video blog and think we should also start doing one to be able to see how we progress and what we learned. One thing for sure, most RV folks are so willing to help by sharing their experiences and real world knowledge when it comes to RVing. We have a group of friends who also have travel trailers and 5th wheels, and have learned so much from them. Mistakes have been made, but usually only once. Lessons on the road are learned quickly, thankfully. I am retired and my lovely wife still has at least two years until she is work free. So, we are taking this time to learn all that we can to enable us to go on the road fulltime, to travel and see parts of our great country we have yet to experience. Luckily, we are still teachable, and looking forward to learning more as we go along. Thankfully, there are good folks like y'all who are sharing your experiences, knowledge, and tips to help us 'newbies' out. More to come when I post our first blog video the next time we take Odie (short for Oddessy) out on the road. Thanks again, and safe travels. Richi and Nancy Ackerman, Atlanta, GA (for now), then the US.
When we moved from AZ to ID we were FTRV for about 2 years. Had a 35ft Toyhauler 5th wheel that had a garage. So once we landed at a permanent spot we took the Harleys out of the garage and turned it into a office/storage area. Since the RV had 3 entries total with one in the front and 2 for the garage the garage ramp/door was where we lined the storage racks because we weren't opening it anymore. Just me and the Mrs. plus a 125lb dog it was plenty comfortable. I think your idea of replacing the dinette with a desk is stellar! Such a great idea. Anyway, this year we upgraded and downsized. Traded the 5th wheel for a truck camper...not the little ones..its a big one. The Arctic Fox 1150. And we are every bit as happy and comfortable. I am serious. Although we aren't FT in it now, we both agreed that if we had to we could. That TC has every amenity that the 5th wheel did. Sure, less storage and less room..but that is made up in being frugal with what we take and the crew cab RAM gives us additional storage. The big bonus for us is we don't need to worry much about where we can go. On the 4x4 RAM dually there aren't many places I can't get to, plus I don't have that huge long trailer which limits places and turning. Can we have guests stay ? Well, sure. The dinette turns into a bed area and a couple could sleep there. The slide out gives a lot of additional room. Not to mention but we can always drop the camper off the truck and use the truck to haul or go shopping if we need to. We do the same things you guys do..modify, personalize and make it a home that rivals brick and stick homes. Good job!
You guys are awesome. Thank you so much for the great video and for sharing great ideas. Also so nice to see people in love. Can't wait to find another one of your videos. Again, thank you.
The best thing I like about your fiver is where the tv is located. It can be seen by all with the seating arrangement you have.See so many where the tv is you have to turn your head to the side to watch. When I sit to watch I want the tv right in front of me.
Jerry Densmore Yes, that was a deciding factor in our 5th wheel purchase. I have never understood why so many manufacturers place the TV at a 90 degree angle to the seating.
Very nice! I look forward to viewing more of your content next chance I get to relax and put my feet up ... and learn something in the process from you ... I love the front entrance heavy rubber mat outside the front door entry way idea. Thank you!!
You've done a great job getting everything just the way you want it. It looks great and it's as comfy as any house made of bricks. Well done. P.S. You two are adorable together.
thank you for sharing your home with us , you guys make me so envious, as i get older the more i wish i lived in my OWN home off grid an on the road .take care , ile try an watch more of your vids, maybe give me the boost i need
I love it, brilliant for just a couple. We live in a one bedroom small flat, and we also say, if one thing comes in, something goes out. and we live by it.
You two seem like my kind of folks. I loved what Ric said his Father said about the bedroom uses [season 1 ep 5] Also I think you both mad a great choice on your Fifth wheel.
Thanks guys for sharing. Very well presented and you make a great couple. You're living the dream:-) have fun and keep you're great videos coming. Cheers.
It looks huge inside. That kitchen is so fine. I bought a Class C and decided not to go full time. I love my house, big bathroom etc...which worked out when I broke my leg. I was in a wheelchair/crutches for 4 months and it would have been miserable in the Class C trying to get into the rig, the bathroom, dump tanks, get food, fill gas etc. I just stayed home (Sedona, Az) and healed comfortably. Pros and Cons on everything. I love my RV but also love having a back up of the house still, especially in such a beautiful place as Sedona. As I get older, I'm glad I did buy and keep my house. It's great to 'save money' in an RV full time but often income also drops. Make sure you are still saving for the future when you can't get around as well as when you were young.
you guys got it going on. really like the 5th wheel camper.. i been looking at the cheap c class. thanks for sharing. i am going to make the Nomadic plunge soon. Thanks for sharing and best of luck to you both. Life is short, enjoy every minute.. Peace.
Amen to downsizing. We came from SC to San Diego 2 years ago. My kids and grandkids are here, so came out for a 6 week vacation in our 34 Alfa Gold 5th wheel, for a 6 week stay. Turned out like Gilligans 2 hour tour. we are still here. My beautiful home, full of good stuff (way too full!) , is still in SC, rented to very nice tenants whom we have never met, all of our 6 decades of possessions still there. I still have that stuff, but can't think of much we really need. We did trade the Alfa (which was a beautifully crafted rig) for a 36 carriage carrie lite, with a real washer dryer. for me, that makes the dif from roughing it to living full time. We are very happy, can always come home to our own bed, no matter where we are.
I love you guys!! Y'all are funny, and I like the camera angles or two cameras what ever it is you did or used very nice video. Y'all are my kinda people!!!
When buying an rv you always have to sacrifice a lot of room and storage. What is most important is a personal thing. But love the rv. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
Thank you for the tour. I'm picking up an Artic Fox 32A Travel Trailer soon myself. Like your comment on what your bedroom is for. Very funny. I enjoyed your video...
Sorry to hear of the loss of your dogs, I went through the same thing in June of 2014. My blue heeler "Muffy" was my best friend. I still have her younger brother "Spooky". I am currently restoring a 1967 Chevy camper van and I have a 30' Columbia cruising sailboat. Sgt. Gary
highwatercircutrider We appreciate the thoughts. Good luck on the restoration. Would love to see pictures or a video of the start to finish. Thanks for the comments and take care of Spooky.
Good use of space, looks like a normal residents from the inside. the only draw back is the more stuff you put in, the more the fuel costs.i would think.
Thank you guys for the video, nice tour ! :-) Lots of storage and large holding tanks. I like 5th wheels but for me it will be a class C, like the Mclouis 876G.- (European Model). I love this particular model. Take care you both.: -) Cheers from France, Roger.
Great over view on how it really looks like to live full time in a fifth wheel. My better half and I are really thinking about doing the same. Our dream is the Jayco Pinnacle, 38', 2015. It is the unloading of things that is killing my hubby however, I am trying to help move him into a more down sizing frame of mind, LOLWe are in our 50s and 60s and want to spend the rest of the time we have left enjoying our lives not being tied down with all our stuff. We own a home in Ohio and land in Maine, getting out of the cold and seeing the USA more is what we seek. Also like your thinking on getting rid of three quarters of your stuff, thank you for cutting it down into quarter. That is a wonderful way for me to explain to my hubby on things we should sell, give away, keep and bring with us. Thanks again for posting, very interesting videos for first timers on NoMad living. Charles and Janet : }
Hi, I like the t-shirt, I am from Goldsboro. :) we are considering full time rving and we have even have looked at a rig like yours. love it. Keep having fun.
SEXY CRIB! You have sold me on the floor plan. I will look for no other. How do you handle the cold. I plan on heating mine with wood or coal. Planing on full timing this spring. Thanks for sharing your life. You have changed mine forever.
If you don't mind, what is your average monthly expenses? I am a disabled vet, and we are thinking about RV'ing full time soon. I have a fixed income, and don't want to go over $2k a month. Is that doable? We are interested in a unit with a washer and dryer too. I am curious if the generator would run the W/D unit.
You guys are great! I'm thinking of doing this too. Not so much for seeing the country but my house is almost paid for and I'm a truck driver and I don't think I want another one and don't want to stay where I am. I'm looking at a big 5th wheel so I can take my motorcycle and all my R/C stuff in the back. But you guys make it look so easy and nice I have to fight not to go out and do it right now! LOL keep up the good work!
Thanks James. Dropping the house and all of the "stuff" that goes with it, is liberating. Plus, you sound like someone that is used to being on the road. Sounds like the perfect fit. Go for it.
Hi guys i recently started looking into RV living i travel a lot and its hard to find good apartments.. Really love this trailer and def considering making this my first purchase.. Thanks alot..
I want to pull out our dinette u shape booth. However we are a fulltime family of of 5 so we use it for meals, homeschooling, and playing games. We have 36 foot travel trailer with a tiny mastet bedroom and a good size bunkhouse. We wanted bigger but just like you said state and federal parks limit the length they allow.
Nice tour. Sorry to here about the pets, that is a downer. I do know of a place we stayed that is excellent for 5th wheels. Priest Gulch Colorado. You can back up and the Delores River is right at back window. Walk 50 ft. and start fishing. Good luck to ya.
This is not necessarily for GonNoMad but for any FT RV'ers, nomads etc.. I have been watching video's for a few months now because I am seriously thinking about buying an RV and living the life FT. I haven't made any video's yet because I am quite shy about it. (I have tried but I find that when I turn the camera on I have nothing to say anymore). Anyway, I recently realized that you are all not just a group of people posting videos and leaving random comments. You are actually a small community; an awesome small community. So I just wanted to say that if any of you are ever in the Sacramento area (before I buy an RV that is) and want an sticks and bricks place to hang out or lay your head for a night or two, or if you are around here and have some repairs to take care of etc... I would be more than happy to have you as my guest. I would love to meet some of you and help out if possible. I also have high speed internet, which I have learned is something that can be problematic on the road.
we just purchased a 2007 flag staff ultra classic. it's just two of us and our shitzu. always looking for new ways of storage. and interested in others experience. thank u for your video cute couple...
My husband and I just bought a 2015 fifth wheel and down sizing is going to be an issue for my husband seeing that he is kind of a horder. I for one can not wait to sell the house and live in our fifth wheel full time. We do own land in my home state Maine so we will be docking in Maine for the summers. Can you give us a few states where it is safe, clean that we can dock for the winter months? Thanks for giving us a tour of your fifth wheel, kind of different then ours becasue you have changed things around, we enjoyed it very much. Charles and Janet : }
It doesn't look like the desk is sitting up on the slide, on a raised area. Any problems fitting it there ? I love that modification but on ours would have to cut a couple of inches off the desk to make it fit the chair on the main floor.
GregGrude Yeah, modern campers have come a looong way in the last few years. The addition of two and three slideouts have increased the living space a ton. So far, the only thing that I miss about my home is the tub. Nothing like taking a long soak after hiking for a few days. Thanks again.
New viewer and love the video and Trailer set up!! I may have missed it, what is the year and model of your fifth wheel? And what truck do you use to pull it. I would really appreciate it and I'm sorry if I missed it in the video.
Corelle for dishes that don't break and are still nice but pricey you get what you pay for though, thanks for the vid Just in the research stages of fulltiming in an fifth wheel
Great video. Tina, how tall are you? I wanted to see how large the bedroom was and having you show the bedroom I can get an idea how big the bedroom is. My wife is 5'1" and I am 5'11" almost 6'.
Video was very helpful. We are selling our house and going on the road. All this is new to us and kind of scary. I liked the outside mat idea and generator info. How long have you been full time? Thanks! Gwyn
thanks for the tour , I love your attitude and the way you live , i am a young student looking to become a nomad and you motivate me `i want a trailer just like urs!! haah i was curious on what kind of a job a nomad can get? where to find them? and info on making income on the road as well as how to get your own wifi where ever you go! :) thanks soo much!!
+nilind appale That IS the million dollar question. Many fulltimers work at web type jobs where they can work from anywhere in the country. Some work in sales. For us, we run a private fish hatchery for 8 months a year and we then get to travel for four months. Many people workcamp, but most of them have additional forms of income. A Google search should turn up many resources that can answer your questions better that we can in a few sentences. We pay for our mobile hotspot (MiFi) and let me tell you that it is not cheap. Most campgrounds offer WiFi, but it is only good for basic functions like Email, etc. Hope this helps and thanks for the views and comments.
Uvonda Lassiter Yes, if it helps with another perspective, it is a basic tenet of Feng Shui that bedrooms are Yin (quiet) places, and all Yang (energetic) activities, like electricals, are to be avoided (apart from the obvious, if you want to get a bit frisky ;) ). Ancient wisdom from your Father, Eric.
Me encanto su video, esa vida me gusta a mi ya que tengo una caravana y cuando podemos nos vamos de camping.Espero en un futuro, cuando se jubile mi marido nos vallamos a vivir a un camping, aquí en España un abrazo en la distancia
Fabulous tour. Thanks guys. The size you've chosen is the same set of criteria I'm looking at, so great information.

+LostRingFinders Glad we could help and thanks for the comments
I love how you are using a trunk for a table. I am going to use that for when I get my RV :)
You've done a great job getting everything just the way you want it. It looks great and it's as comfy as any house made of bricks. Well done.
P.S. You two are adorable together.
I love the kitchen,desk,living room,tv,coatrack,bathroom,bedroom

It looks huge inside. That kitchen is so fine. I bought a Class C and decided not to go full time. I love my house, big bathroom etc...which worked out when I broke my leg. I was in a wheelchair/crutches for 4 months and it would have been miserable in the Class C trying to get into the rig, the bathroom, dump tanks, get food, fill gas etc. I just stayed home (Sedona, Az) and healed comfortably. You two are great - thanks for sharing your insights and the tour!
Wow, that's impressive! Thanks for the tour, I've often wonder what the inside of one of those campers looked like.
+Belle Haup Yeah, its pretty homey.
You guys are awesome, can't wait to live that way.
So helpful--thanks for posting this! My wife and I have spent years wondering whether we could do this...
Nice tour, thanks for sharing your home with us.
The HIP HOP beat tho! came out of nowhere LOL! And was so fitting for your 'crib' intro tour.
Nicely set up. I like the desk vs a dinette. More functional & all looks great!
+ReignBeauHounds Makes it look very 'homey' for sure.
+Dick Patrol > You know my wife? How's that?
+ReignBeauHounds although the dinnette would be great for chopping up veggies for meals, etc.

Great video I like the place. Thanks showing me your home p.s. love the comedy.
Thank you for the tour. I'm picking up an Artic Fox 32A Travel Trailer soon myself. Like your comment on what your bedroom is for. Very funny. I enjoyed your video...
Love your viideos, Terrific RV, love your floor plan,
My wife and I are going with the L 29 Arctic Fox.More insulation and a GREAT layout.

My wife and I have a 30 ft fifth wheel by jayco and I don't have as much head room as you do on yours in your bed room, we only use it to camp out.
Did you consider a trailer vs. 5W. I'm still trying decide. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Thanks for the tour. Dude you look like you could be Morgan Spurlocks brother! Peace man. :)
we just purchased a 2007 flag staff ultra classic. it's just two of us and our shitzu. always looking for new ways of storage. and interested in others experience. thank u for your video cute couple...
+Tammy Hupp Congrats on the new purchase and thanks for the views and comments.
Such a cute couple. Good tour.
GoneNoMad I love your home.It looks very cozy.
TruFantom21 Thanks Fantom. We love it.
GoneNoMad And so do we :)
I love the fact that you guys don't wear shoes in your RV. It's more hygienic this way.
My husband and I just bought a 2015 fifth wheel and down sizing is going to be an issue for my husband seeing that he is kind of a horder. I for one can not wait to sell the house and live in our fifth wheel full time. We do own land in my home state Maine so we will be docking in Maine for the summers. Can you give us a few states where it is safe, clean that we can dock for the winter months? Thanks for giving us a tour of your fifth wheel, kind of different then ours becasue you have changed things around, we enjoyed it very much. Charles and Janet : }
Hey guy's thanks for the tour. Your 5th wheel would be ideal for me thanks for the food for though your friend Harv
harvey strauss No problem.
AMEN, we removed our tv from our bedroom a few years ago. nothing worse that trying to sleep while the other is watching tv....
Nice, very nice thats better looking than some apartments ive seen,
+Fern W Thanks, it works for us
You guys seem so freaking happy!
How did you guy guys meet?
Love your place by the way!
I live in a crappy trailer in Arkansas and I'd rather live in your RV, it's nice, though I would need more sleeping spaces!
Sorry, not an RV! Your trailer!
Hi Eric and Tina I got your channel from Steve and Theresa Love your Rv looks cozy
Thanks David! Steve and Tess are great people and turning into great friends. We love our camper. Glad you joined us and we hope that you stick around
I'm here for a long while as a fellow Rv'er life my self
love your videos keep up the great job Ross and Heather
It doesn't look like the desk is sitting up on the slide, on a raised area. Any problems fitting it there ? I love that modification but on ours would have to cut a couple of inches off the desk to make it fit the chair on the main floor.
Very nice 5th wheel.
I had no idea the inside of an RV could be so homey.
Just found out the hard way that at juuuuust the right angle they shatter in millions of pieces. :-(
Great video. Tina, how tall are you? I wanted to see how large the bedroom was and having you show the bedroom I can get an idea how big the bedroom is. My wife is 5'1" and I am 5'11" almost 6'.
Are there any ideas on ways to make a living while living on the road?
Were you guys high and slowing coming down off of your buzz as the video progressed?
You said you use your generator for a hour a day? Are you not hooked up to the grid, or are you charging batteries? Great video though! Thanks.
Very good. Thanks guys.
rodrigo lopes Thank you Rodrigo.
Did you consider having a model with a stack washer/dryer? I can't imagine living without them....
Video was very helpful. We are selling our house and going on the road. All this is new to us and kind of scary. I liked the outside mat idea and generator info. How long have you been full time? Thanks! Gwyn
Daaang! I didn't know there was gonna be a gun show on this vid;)
thanks for the tour , I love your attitude and the way you live , i am a young student looking to become a nomad and you motivate me `i want a trailer just like urs!! haah i was curious on what kind of a job a nomad can get? where to find them? and info on making income on the road as well as how to get your own wifi where ever you go!
I agree with your dad about tv's in the bedroom...lol
Uvonda Lassiter ;)
+Norma Capdevila Moon Sorry, No comprende
+Adi Pete Thanks for the translation. ;) Pass on our thanks and wishes for their upcoming life change.
