I've lived in my glamper for over 3 years now. A cheap way I keep my space warm is using plywood panels that have reflective paper on 1 side that I got from home depot & they cut them into 4 pieces each. I painted the wood side with white paint & have the reflectix side facing in with a shop light installed underneath with a 40 watt bulb on a timer to turn on & off during the coldest times of night. No mice problems with this method. I also have an Envi wall mount conduction heater, which helps raise the temp inside 10-15 degrees all by itself. No moving parts & no little fingers burning. It uses only about 425 watts, so it's also solar friendly. It helps the regular heater out so it doesn't have to work so hard.

Most newer rvs should have a dehumidifier built into the furnace/heating system.. but it would definitely be a great thing to check, and if you don't have one, it would be worthwhile to get even if you dont have a wrap.. especially if you're using a propane heat source.. propane is a wet humid heat, this means it's adding moisture to your habitable area.. a dehumidifier is a must-have for full-time living in an RV.. where I live in north Dakota, we get wind and snow and freezing cold temperatures.. if you do not have a wrap on your RV here, your interior walls will become iced over.. in some cases, I have heard up to 1 or 2 inches thick by the end of the winter.. currently, we have 3 feet of snow, it's -20° and a 22mph wind.. that puts wind chill values about -50°.... it's really cold here and has the potential to get even colder..
As you have now found out, Airstreams are 3 season trailers. Yes, you can do the winter in one, but it will not be easy or cheap. You will burn a bunch of propane trying to keep it warm. I have owned 2 Airstreams. Currently a 2019 FC 25 RBT. It goes to Florida in October and comes back to Western North Carolina in April.

It's very challenging trying to live in something created for temporary occupation (vacations) and not necessarily built durable with a lot of insulation. I've seen some people put a small wood stove in their RV and it works great. It's free and you can cook on them. You wouldn't have to worry about conserving energy from a battery. Just keep chopped wood on hand.

I am watching this from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and it is minus -43 Celsius or -45.4 Fahrenheit! Bone chilling cold ! Engine block heaters and battery blankets and it still may not start in the morning! Winter in north America ! Eh at least it was the winter solstice yesterday longer days are on their way! Stay warm everybody! Sadie and Lola were rockin it ! Merry Christmas and 🙏✌🖖Happy Holidays everyone !
A couple of times, we lived in an old 24 ft travel trailer with temps down to -25F. Over the top and around the skirt, I installed concrete curing blankets which I already owned. The put a piece of foam in the unnecessary windows. Laid a piece of 2 in foam against the grill where the water heater was located. Trailer had an a electric heater. Heat tape and blanket over water source and blanket over sewer pit. The trailer stayed warm over night with a 700 watt heater. We were snug as a bug at -25 below. Since we were building each time, it kept us from having to rent.
Great attitude. My father in law always use o say, “don’t curse the darkness, light a candle!”Way to go! God bless your family and your business venture!
You can conserve your heat in the Airstream by buying enough rectangle bales of straw and packing them around your camper. I lived in an airstream one winter while my home was being built. All winter long with freezing temperatures and pipes. The straw fixed the problem. The air blowing under your airstream is freezing your camper. You can us hay if you're prepared to deal with the weeds in your lawn this coming summer.
I live in a RV for 3 years now. You have to be wise of how you manage your heat source at night. Use space heaters while using heating blankets. You may need to get a RV hook up for the electricity so your not running batteries or propane alone. Invest in a generator and put some solar panels on this beautiful RV. If you planning on repeating winters and invest in propane 100 gallon tank to be on the outside to drawn propane. Living a good life comes at a price. Blessings and peace.Sadie brings joy to my heart.
I was just thinking that maybe opening at 6:00am to 12:00noon?? Just a thought?? And for those of you that are around the food and drink might wear a hair net??
It's our first winter in our RV and dealing with the cold has been a learning curve. The best thing that we've done so far is invest in a skirting system. Whether it's something like Airskirts (my sister has for her smaller trailer) or vinyl skirting like we got, it has made a huge difference in keeping the pipes from freezing and the floor warmer. And that keeps the trailer overall warmer. Good luck!!
I’ve been Rving for about 3 years now and I’d like to share some advice. If you’re still concerned with it being cold, I highly recommend purchasing or building a skirt to wrap around the bottom which will keep the chill away from your flooring. I’d also HIGHLY recommend a dehumidifier. Taking showers, boiling water, cooking all add lots of moisture to the air and can make temps feel colder than they actually are. If you need any questions, I’d be happy to help.
How to winterize your RV, inside, start by the front door…add a temporary curtain rod by your front door ans insolâtes with a thick curtain, e area rug on the floor, bubble wrap on the window, use a spray bottle and cut bubble wrap to fit perfectly under the edge of the frame, buy a electric blanket. But a skirting and add it around the outside bottom of you RV, on the edge of the tip outs, add styrofoam insolation and make sure it goes from frame to the inside edge of the frame. Insulate the water hot tank with reflective insolation or fiberglass insulation, pipes can also be insulated. Every nook and cranny should be insulated. You can also add pink fiberglass underneath your RV frame.
KAYLEE & JORDAN, this video was made 11 months ago, and you have just finished the 48 states in 48 days of hiding a bag of that expensive coffee in every state. YOU'VE COME A LONG WAY BABY, IN THESE PAST 11 MONTHS. And Jordan, your surprise announcement MADE ME CRY. I love your videos & your family. Sadie is a lucky little girl. Soon, she'll be big enough to spend a whole month with Grandparents, but you'd miss her too much. God Bless ýou is my prayer. I look forward to your next year's journey. You are so amazing. Your disabled sub from Ky who wasn't able to chase down the Ky box of hidden coffee, but would have loved to do so. ♥ 😊
With all you’ve spent…a GENERATOR would be a nice touch, don’t ya think? Looks like Lola is loving the snow! If you guys are in for the long haul, would an external propane tank work for you? Have a few friends who dock their RV’s in the winter using external tanks. Less of a hassle to replenish.
I'm surprised your not open earlier. Most folks have to be at work by 7or8am. You might be missing out on a ton more business. Close at 10 or 11...id open up at 5am. Do a study and see what the traffic is like on the road at that time.
Sent my daughter some of your house blend, she couldn't get over how wonderful it was and wants more. You'll be seeing me again real soon but in the meantime keep the goat dancing and singing
Lived in RV for years... Frozen items in cabinets, 8 gallons of hot water, and frozen solid hose from time to time, and 20 gallons of propane for the heater every week.. Challenging can be an understatement.
2" foam board from home depot with the silver side in and held in place with hvac tape and short stakes on the bottom . Mine stayed 41-48° underneath, with in floor heating . It will not blow down if done properly and it just works . You can and should paint the outside to preserve. It. Without it my tanks would freeze . It's like a house in mine . If your only going through 2 tanks a week that's really good. I go through 4 a week but my camper is a 2003 5th wheel. Best regards
Glad to hear that you're getting better, K. I dont know if you read these comments, but I've just been watching another TH-cam channel called Gold Shaw Farm. I have lived in an RV in the middle of winter. In the south western corner of Kansas. 60 mile an hr winds with ice on the fence bigger around than a Pepsi can. I enjoy the RV living.
I had to do Corporate Training and Certification for work there in Stowe, and I had come up from North Carolina to do it. The night I arrived, it snowed two full feet of snow. I was so distressed! I was going to be late, or worse. I got up and dressed for the occasion and was stunned to find all the roads to my destination clear and black. I had no issues, even though I thought I would. They were amused I had gotten up an hour early to drive the 15 minutes to the offices. Gave me more time to relax with my pals. Great video guys. Hang in there!!
This comment might look not related to the video but watching Sade growing and remembering how she was born makes me yall so proud like you were my own family. Every new accomplisment warms my heart to tears of joy for you. Your Roastery feels for me like a Coffee scientific research lab. That is perfection and looking to improove the best with the best every day. You are so inspiring. I love the energy all over this video/content. Am glad I came upon the same. God bless you all and congratulations over the coffee shop, clearly you understand coffee.
I really appreciate what you guys. I wish I drank coffee in order to support you more, but I am a tea drinker. The best I can do is like, subscribe and comment. Also, Sadie is so damn cute, and obviously well developed. You two are doing a great job as parents. I just had do give you ***** for your job as young parents.
Have the gas company bring you a larger propane tank. Put straw bales around the bottom of youe camper. Get one of those tent structures to enclose the entire camper. When the temps get really low you won't be able to stay in it like it is now.
Wonder if foam board skirting can be added that could be removed for the summer. That would provide the wind block and insulation, and hopefully prevent mice as well. Love watching the winter storm. We are looking for a big storm here in Illinois today. It would be great to see you all back in Panama but I’m glad you get to enjoy the weather that you’re used to for winter and Christmas. Lola looks like she’s loving it as well. Can’t wait to see how she reacts when you’re all back on the farm and she finally gets to meet mumu and see her farmiliy again for the first time in months. Merry Christmas to all of you at the Roastery. Did anyone else notice that Kaylee’s pouring technique kind of looks like a goat hoof lol.
ALOHA from big island Hawaii. I stayed in a camper the last month in Washington State. Found out it's more efficient to run electric heat rather than propane. Keep up the great work ALOHA
I live in my rv. For the last 6 years I go where the weather suits my clothes. It’s December 27 th and I’m in south Florida. Southern California is another of my favorite winter destinations.
Wow guys, you outdid yourselves with these beautiful shots! We were worried we would get hit with those two feet of snow heading out to see you but instead just got gorgeous scenery ❄️ Kaylee we are so glad you’re starting to feel better… Healthy good sleeping vibes your way Love, Andy and Rachel
Where I lived I used to be a restaurant oh my goodness at country fried steak and gravy. And they opened early in the morning and close by 2:00 literally turning people away. The place was crowded every day. They finally sold it and retired. Nothing good ever lasts forever you know how that goes if you don't know that yet learn it what you enjoy now may not be there later. So yeah I bless your coffee place and that will bring you many years of happiness. And finances too.
Even the dog is loving the snow! Lol. Glad the electricity returned when it did. Yeah, freezing pipes is a reality there. Have to prevent that from happening. It Alaska they wrap pipes with some type of insulation and do as you guys are doing, keeping doors open to circulate heat in area.
Sorry about the electricity; have been through several blackouts in southern AZ, I know how much that sucks. But you two just remain positive through all the ups and downs and that bitter cold where you are now. 'Course, right now, it's cold all across the nation and another front moving in. You are amazing. Good luck through the weekend. See ya next time.
Question - if you are only open for 4 hours in the morning - rather than have to get up so early to prep. Cant you do the prep after noon when the roastery is closed for the following day? Im sure you have your reasons. Love you guys.
I told you it was gonna be difficult to live in a trailer during the winter months. I’m in the Houston area right now last night it went down to 17°F. It’s freezing in my camper with a small electric heater running fullbore. It would only keep the camper at 61°F maximum temp. At least there’s no snow here yet!!! Oh, and when you’re burning wood in a solo stove, the wood should be below the ring of holes around the top of the solo stove. That’s how they work. Also, the dry heat inside the camper will make you sick. Every time I stay in my camper and run the heat I get sick been doing this stuff for 40 years. I try to use saline nasal spray. It helps keep your sinuses moist just a little spray every once in a while helps big time.
Problem is, if you provide seating then you have to have a public use toilet. I got around that by putting out a bench or two outside during the warmer months.
Skirting’s a great idea. If you can do a 12v electric blanket, plug it in before bed and that makes a world of difference for sounder sleep. Your “Stowe Joe” coffee’s a hit at our Paint n Sips. After this wind storm passes, I’ll be up to get more coffee from ya. I hope you feel better soon, Kayleigh. Jordan, yes, snowshoeing’s a GREAT way to enjoy the snow! ❄️Looks like Lola & Sadie are loving the magic of the 802. 😊
I am really pleased that your coffee shop is doing so well. Sadie is so cute and I love her smile. Merry Christmas to you all and a very happy new year
Had my first morning movement cup of coffee, and it was outstanding! You guys are rocking it, and for this, mid-life guy who is building a business of my own, you motivate me to keep on keeping on. God Bless and Merry Christmas
I watched a video the other day of a Cdn rv camper where they used pieces of tarp and bull dog clipped it to the underside edge of their rv to skirt it. To keep the tarp down they filled plastic containers with water, when frozen they became excellent weights. The skirting helped with keeping their rv warmer than without. If you use a silver tarp and cut it down it would be less conspicuous.
Greetings from the Texas Hill Country to the Kingdom!. Got a tip for winterizing your Airstream. Get some mat's like school use for gymnastics. Throw them over the top. Place hay bales up and over to create an igloo. Tarp on top. Wood stove placement is not easy. Recommend through the roof. Wrap stovepipe in header wrap like auto exhaust. I have a 32 foot Airstream. Replacing copper pipe with PEX. You might want to wrap you pipes with heat wrap strips. Hope it works out for you. I grew up in Metro West outside of Boston. Got to the Texas Hill Country as soon as I could.
My daughter and I live in an RV also, much smaller than yours. We rent a 100 gallon propane tank. it lasts about a month. you might want to get one. right now it is 14 degrees here in Lubbock Tx. with wind chill making it -6. Stay warm and keep smiling. Hugs love and prayers
I miss the snow. I lived in NYC for 8 years and now I’m back in Australia. I never had to shovel snow or try and drive in it, so I guess I never had the endure the negative side of it. It always looks so magical and pretty. Much prefer snow over a hot summers day. It was always my tradition to take my dog to Central Park and meet up with other dog walking friends on the first snow fall of the season. Watching my dog play and bounce in the snow was always super fun, even if I had to put little shoes and a warm coat on him, he loved it!
Be careful with the electric heater, most campers don't have electrical to support the load from that type of heater. Best to run a cord from the exterior to plug that in.
Good day , living in an rv in winter can be made more tolerable by setting up a shelter over your rv. Just like Trent and Allie .it will help retain heat and cut the wind. I think there brand was shelter logic.
Sadie's face said "Take me back to Panama." Lol. Love her heart. I live in an RV and you really would be much warmer if you had a skirting on that camper. They make special stuff or you can use straw bale's, or I use inch thick insulation board. I also cover my wheels. Most of the cold is coming from under you. Also put down rugs and sometimes I have reflectix that goes up on the windows at night. Be safe and stay warm!!! 💜
Visit 2 is all planned. It was an amazing experience to meet everyone and see what you all have accomplished which is nothing short of amazing! Great town for a place like yours! Sadie was so cute and is such a smart kid! Good luck and have a great Holiday! See you all soon!

Jordan consider an rv wrap.. it's a shrink wrap designed to winterize your RV.. it holds the heat in..
I have a question about this. Does it also hold in the humidity/condensation? I live full time in my glamper & humidity is the enemy of an rv.
@Lisa Marino yes it will.. a dehumidifier would definitely be a great idea to have inside. C) Use warm windows fabric on every window to prevent heat loss; D) Rent a 500 gallon propane tank and connect; E) Protect water line underneath trailer with insulation and a infrared light directed at water line; F) Leave doors open underneath all basins; G)Use two oil filled electric radiators for very cold days;
I’m surprised you’re not open for the business crowd on their way to work
I thought the same thing. And also mid afternoon coffee time.
Wow Sadie is getting sooo big!! Grown so fast, lookin like her Father!! So Precious! Happy Holidays to you all, Sending Love & Light
Good luck!!
Just love y'alls attitude! Nothing stops the Nomadic Movement!
8 am!? Most people are at work by then- you need to be open by 6 am- catching all those people headed for work.
Sadie's smile can light up a room.
She is adorable
U guys are so healthy and brilliant ❤good people and good examples of how to do things
Glad to see Lola doing so well. And glad Kaley is on the mend too. Merry Christmas from Florida.
Morgan and Alison are farmers in Peacham, Vermont. I bet there could be some interesting conversations about YouTubing between the two channels!
It is wonderful to hear that you LOVE running the new roastery! Wishing you all the good vibes for success.
Lola is a SNOW dog!! Omg she is loving it!! Sadie is so adorable! Hope you are feeling 100%soon. Lack of sleep is the worst.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Hugs from 🇨🇦
Sadie is so sweet, And her beautiful eyes, I so enjoy watching you guys are so full of life, and always so happy, I hope ya'll coffee business sky rockets.God Bless.
Just use a little space heater to heat the rig. We use a ‘25 Comfort Zone heater in our camper and have multiples we use in our house and office!
You need to block that underpinning of the camper. It will help hold your heat in.
Heat leaves most on the top. You need a kind of cap for the camper.
Lola is too cute running in the snow...my dog loves the snow too.
I also follow and love Trent and Allie ,i admire the tenacity of them and Leo is an amazing little guy. But when i see your choice of life, you guys are my first choice for inspiration. I do not drink much coffee lately only like medicine every now and then but your work its so rewardung in all senses, flavor ,aroma , the way you buy the beans ,the way you prosess have so much passion, honor and respect for the people that grows them, you that prepare it and us that receive your energized produce. You are the new world of peace heroes. I wish i can visit you in Vermont or Panama to enjoy your amazing family.
Always love seeing Sadie and her beautiful smile ❣️ Loved seeing Lola have a blast in the snow❗❄️❄️🐕🦺🐾🐾 Stay warm ❗
I love the energy all over this video/content. Am glad I came upon the same. God bless you all and congratulations over the coffee shop, clearly you understand coffee.
I know you have been really busy, but I have missed you guys. Lola in the snow is so much fun!!!
Yes we miss you...consider some CHRISTMAS SPIRIT...Decorations help look good
Have the gas company bring you a larger propane tank. Put straw bales around the bottom of youe camper. Get one of those tent structures to enclose the entire camper. When the temps get really low you won't be able to stay in it like it is now.
Sadie is adorable! Love her smile.
Lola tracking the rabbits is adorable! Stay warm! Love seeing my home state. And Sadie is so cute! MerryChristmas.
I live in my rv. For the last 6 years I go where the weather suits my clothes. It’s December 27 th and I’m in south Florida. Southern California is another of my favorite winter destinations.
I LOVE watching the snow fall. I love snowshoeing, Ice fishing, sledding.
But most of all, it's not hot as hell.
Wow guys, you outdid yourselves with these beautiful shots! We were worried we would get hit with those two feet of snow heading out to see you but instead just got gorgeous scenery ❄️ Kaylee we are so glad you’re starting to feel better… Healthy good sleeping vibes your way
Love, Andy and Rachel
It's below 20 here and I'm cozy in my Lance rv
Where I lived I used to be a restaurant oh my goodness at country fried steak and gravy. And they opened early in the morning and close by 2:00 literally turning people away. The place was crowded every day. They finally sold it and retired. Nothing good ever lasts forever you know how that goes if you don't know that yet learn it what you enjoy now may not be there later. So yeah I bless your coffee place and that will bring you many years of happiness. And finances too.
That's a lot of SNOW... but the good thing is that you got you guys brought your Panama heat to melt the snow away. Cheers from this Panama fan in DC.
Where are the tables, people love hanging out and drinking coffee
Have ya'll ever considered putting just a few café style tables in the Roastery for those customers that might want to hang out for a few?
Merry Christmas to you all and a very happy new year
Hello
I can see a backup generator in your future.
@Nomadic_movement Happy New Year!
You guys need a trailer skirt. It WILL make a difference.
Got tears in my eyes and a mile wide grin. I'm so happy for you guys. Sending you all Merry Christmas wishes 🎄☃🎄🎅🎄 from Southwestern Ontario.
call the propane co and rent a bigger tank ,my rental is 100 per year to rent ,stay warm..
JUST TRULY LOVE YOUR INGENUITY GUYS....KUDOS TO ALL OF YOU.. 😍 😍 😍
A SHOUT-OUT will be uplifting for me. MABUHAY!... 🇵🇭
"Interpretive art, baby", love it! And Sadie saying "Uh oh". Happy Holidays!
You need some Air Skirts!!! Google them 😊
Visit 2 is all planned. It was an amazing experience to meet everyone and see what you all have accomplished which is nothing short of amazing! Great town for a place like yours! Sadie was so cute and is such a smart kid! Good luck and have a great Holiday! See you all soon!
I love to see your 2 being so happy and working together ❤️ 💜 💗 💖 💕 💓
