The thing you missed when describing what the vehicle is... Too long to be a hatch, not really a crossover... It's called an estate/wagon. The best type of vehicle.
I'm not searching for "this" car, but for "solid state battery". Hyundai seems to have advanced very far already and have a running demo (small scale proof of concept) production line running. Both for a house battery and a car battery, depending on the price, this would be a great step forward. They may want to start at a higher price but it may be cheaper in resources and production costs as well as risks associated with other battery chemistries. In which case, I would want them to just start competing with price from the get go.
@@jamespaul2587From what I've read elsewhere, revised model heavier chassis roof pillars + heavier battery negates minor increase in battery capacity, so performance and efficiency actually slightly less than previous version.

The EVn range of Kia's are built on a dedicated Battery EV only platform (e-GMP), deliberately excluding the ability to implement hybrids in the design. Interestingly, it seems Hyundai/Kia are going the route of high capacity batteries (both LFP and solid-state, with trial production lines produced next year - if implemented in an EV6 this would increase the 328 mile range to about 615 miles.
@GruffSillyGoat that would definitely be better, as my scotland journey is 450+ miles each way. but having the petrol generator engine style PHEV systems, still would be easier, as would still have to use public chargers as currently none of my family up there have chargers. Personally public chargers should have their prices capped to 10p - 15p per KW to help encourage people to switch. when its 30p-50p per KW its just not reasonable.

You like the front led strip, but you wonder why every manufacturer uses a fitting them? Do you not listen to the words that come out of your own mouth? 😅
Can confirm it delivers 3.6kW at 240v through the 13A socket, used a power meter to confirm it. I don't know how long the car will sustain a continuous current at this rating before de-rating/switching off the supply but it was sufficient to boil a kettle for 3 minutes.
@GruffSillyGoat Personally, I don’t know of any domestic kettle elements exceeding 3kW. The car may well be able to deliver 3.6kW. A BS three pin plug can safely sustain 10A for a prolonged period, 13A for short term use. Over-loading one of those plugs (and the delivery socket) cannot be regarded as safe operation. That 6.9kW, from another vehicle, must surely be through a 32A ‘commando’ type outlet? I know a 13A BS fuse will withstand rather more current than that (for a short duration) but will fail eventually if continually over-loaded.
@@oliver90owner - not sure about 6.9kW, didn't see the comment at the time but it wouldn't be a 13amp socket for sure. Indeed a 3.6kW load (14.3a to 16.7a within the 230v tolerance range) wouldn't blow a 13amp fuse immediately, if at all. It's within the non-fusing range of a 13A fuse, being designed to sustain 20.8A for at least 30 minutes but blow at or above 24.7A (within 30 minutes). I think my wording choice was a little odd in my last post, I wasn't suggesting the kettle was 3.6KW just that the Kia's can sustain a kettle boiling load for 3 minutes. The 3.6kW was down to an overloaded extension lead during a power cut, I didn't run it for long more because I was concerned about the extension. I suspect the EV6 offers 3.6kW because it has two sockets, one under the passeger sets and one via the V2L adapter. There is an government supported AC based V2G (V2VNY) trial running at the moment (with Hyundia, Kia and MG), that imports 3.6kW via the V2L adapter into a wall EVSE adapter of a business/home. It has two sockets so can import 7.2kW by connecting two vehicles at once (or perhaps one MG at 6.9kW).

How do the Germans think they are competitive is beyond me. Even if it was rubbish, on the looks alone it will outsell them 10x, and I am pretty sure it's decent.
Just ordered a bmw and currently in a merc. For me at least, the interiors are light years ahead of most Asian cars. Though I’d don’t think those brands compete against KIA really VAG may be a different story, from what I saw VW at least felt on a similar level.
My BMW iX3 interior absolutely destroys the EV6. It's premium soft materials, dashboard stitching and solid and sturdy throughout. External design is subjective but again the iX3 looks far more premium and has superior road presence in my opinion.
It looks better with the new front headlights, just wondering if the lightbar can be turned off? Side profile reminds me of the Jag iPace, which is a good thing IMO.
Nice to see you back at the end of the year, thank you. At £51k this just does not work unless one Tom’s PCP deal blows me away. Even then there is no pizzazz. For well less than £51k you can get something from Alfa Romeo, Abarth, Brabus, or Mini which is more fun but probably less family friendly. Who wants to drive something family friendly if you really like cars? There are roof racks for the rest of the family in extremis, or best yet leave them behind. The dogs, which matter, will still fit in the back.
Had two EV6s over the last few years Good cars but on the GT-Line S I found the ride very hard and the piano black trim was a nightmare to keep, was cheap quality I now have an Enyaq and find it a better all round car (Charging asside)
I like a lot about it, but they've got to fix the lack of cargo capacity/poor use of space. I have a ten and 14 y/o and am fostering two large hounds. I get that the floor is high due to the battery, but a Model 3 has almost the same cargo capacity behind the back seats, yet quite a bit more with the rear seats down (61.4 vs 50.2). That's a HUGE difference considering they are almost the same size and cost essentially the same after dealer markups and BS charges on the EV6.
"fix" ...well I doubt they are going to redesign the car just to fit your needs...there are plenty of other cars that would suit you just fine. You might be happy with an ev9 instead.
@lexlopez15 it's a design flaw, considering the EV6 has a dedicated EV platform. If Tesla can have over 22% more capacity in a vehicle that is narrower and shorter than the EV6, that's a problem. You shouldn't have to jump up multiple class sizes because of Kia's poor use of space. Also, the EV9 is much more expensive and ugly.
@Noah_E it's not a design flaw it's simply not suitable for your needs. Works just fine for someone that doesn't have kids or pets. There's a car out there for everyone and obviously the ev6 is not for you. It's no different than calling a 2 seater sports car a design flaw cause it only has 2 seats.... My friend just got an ev9 cause she has 2 kids and is a soccer mom and she loves the ev9. I wouldn't trade my ev6 for it cause it's just too big for my needs.
@lexlopez15 that response is more ridiculous than the first. I compared two vehicles in the same category, designed for the same purpose and you come back with a model from a different segment. Then double down. Again, if two models in the same category, designed to serve the same purpose, with almost the same foot print, and costing almost the same, but one is substantially better at the use of space, the worse one has a blatant design flaw. Throwing in a three row SUV and then nonsense about a two seater doesn't change that. Stop defending poor engineering. Kia should have designed or packaged their battery better, but didn't. That's a design flaw, plain and simple. Side note, the EV9 looks like a tipped refrigerator IMO.
@@Noah_E my point remains the same, there are plenty of OTHER vehicles that would suit your needs. I'm pretty sure the engineers at Kia didn't want to make the ev6 look like the egg design that plagues just about all Tesla vehicles (they actually made a video behind the desiging of the ev6)... Sounds like you're just butt hurt that you like the design of the car but it lacks a few inches of space for you to haul your junk., that's more of a YOU problem and not a Kia problem.
Disappointing no panoramic roof this is the problem with non premium brands...yeah you pay more for a Audi BMW Merc but you get what you pay for panoramic roofs that actually open
Panoramic roof is a non-issue 1st world problem. You do you and waste your money and watch the big o valuation crater with your BMW (Broke My Wallet) or Audi (Always Under Diagnositic Investigation). Been there done that, learned hard way. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
Different people choose cars for different reasons, the EV6 is an 800v architecture car that charges faster than all Tesla's bar the Cybertruck, but that costs a lot more and is restricted to certain markets. But for me it's was the level of configurability and physical controls (phyiscal buttons, stalks, flappy paddels) as well as the driving style that swung the decision to the EV6 over an Model Y (which is a closer spec match than a Model 3).
🫣I want to like it and thought the shape would grow on me but no, sorry I just don’t like it I guess I’m allergic to Kia’s design language as I don’t like the boxy ev3 or ev9 either.
@@thezanzibarbarian5729 Look at it again. What she *actually* said was, "The fog lights are now down here -- vertical little led strips." I now have an Enyaq and find it a better all round car (Charging asside)
Loved how Manos kept pointing out the piano black! EV6 is just too expensive with a basic Tesla Model 3 RWD doing 0-60 in 5.8s and costing under £40k
Oxfam? Great cause and sometimes have decent clothes - shame she missed them 😂

Terrible sound, nice car though 😊
🫣I want to like it and thought the shape would grow on me but no, sorry I just don’t like it I guess I’m allergic to Kia’s design language as I don’t like the boxy ev3 or ev9 either.
*Those rear fog lights are not vertical. They are horizontal.* You should ask your hubby to explain the difference. I'm sure he'll oblige. 🤔😲 😅🤣😂
Two lights above one another - Vertical.
@@nigelrowe2204 🤔 She said, and I quote, _"... rear fog lights are horizontal ..."_ She never said anything about them being stacked.
You know you used your outside voice right?
@@MrGordy6040 I know. it's one of the joys of Schizophrenia.
_You're never alone!_ 😅🤣😂
@@thezanzibarbarian5729 Look at it again. What she *actually* said was, "The fog lights are now down here -- vertical little led strips." I think the fact they are stacked one above the other is why she called them vertical, because she calls the lights themselves "led strips", meaning they run horizontally.
Will be obsolete in 6 years...
Why?
More like appliances than objects of desire and emotion.
As for most ICE cars.
Coupe is NOT pronounced coop in English, so why do so. There is no ‘frunk’ in English either, the word you are looking for is froot (FROnt boOT).
Viewers in the USA need to learn English not use a version of it and pretend it’s actually English!
Unless of course you want the UK to be the 51st US state.
As a member of an international audience that is not from US&A or Brexitania. I don't think you should discriminate Scottish and Welsh who were on the island before the English.
Sorry but that would be 52 nd US states. Canada is the 51 st state 😅😅😅
Eleven of the 48 contiguous states and Alaska are bigger than England and we have five times the population. Get over yourselves.
@philipc239, already? Trump moves very fast.
@@Dqtube, I didn’t. You implied it. English is English. Of course the Northern Irish, Scottish and Welsh have there own languages I didn’t they they don’t!
Nicky you are a STUNNER ❤❤❤
charging speed is dependant upon what the charger and its cable are capable of - most chargers cannot yet deliver 250kw - many fast' chargers only deliver 50kw on a good day
No
Yukified the front
The rear is so ugly...
