- I've been meeting a lot of new people recently thanks to my cake videos, and it's been so much fun meeting everyone! This week, I'm making a hyperrealistic cake of a pillow 🛏️

It makes me so happy that her reaction to being noticed in public is to be excited and happy because it means people love her and her work and that she's super friendly about it. I just hope nobody invades her personal space or anything like that. Like, if you ever see someone you admire, please keep in mind, they are still a person, who likely does not know you, even though you know about them, and they have a personal life outside what you know them for. Be courteous and respect people's boundaries.
nah fam I practically know every detail of jordan fisher’s life from the minute he was adopted which is like 17 years of knowledge of this man. and every eingle thing he’s acted in, every company he’s worked with, hsi favorite oreo flavor, favorite color, child’s name, his birthday, EVERYTHING.

I once encountered a celebrity who came into the store I worked at and I had a similar interaction to the ones you’ve described. Except she was really shy and didn’t really want to engage. I felt pretty embarrassed for being excited, and guilty for creating what for her may have been an uncomfortable situation. I’m happy to hear you’re excited and grateful to be recognized. Must be a good feeling!

Oh man. It’s game over for everyone if she does that. 😂 But in a lot of people’s defense, there are pillows that are made of “pleather”.

This makes me think of those classical marble statues where the figure is reclining on a bed - they look so comfy that it can be hard to remember that its actually made of stone.

I love how humble you are. You could totally be like "well if course people recognize me, I'm an artistic diva!" But instead you're very gracious and appreciative. But for real you're an amazing artist so you shouldn't be surprised when people are excited to meet you and know who you are! My 8 and 6 year old daughters frequently go around quoting your opening line... "My name is Natalie Sideserf and I make cakes that don't look like cakes." It's so cute!

That cut was so satisfying especially when you moved the knife fast at the last part of the cake.
This is a big reason I enjoy your channel still, even as it's grown to *huge* (while I'm not an "old hat" subscriber, you hadn't reached a million when I first found you): you're still as friendly, slightly awkward and nerdy as you were then and haven't fallen into the trap of changing who you are.
I think this is a great way, btw, to solve the issue of "how do I make yet another hyper realistic cake and make it entertaining"; IE: not talking about the cake (as much) and more talking around it.

Funny true story that i was reminded of when you mentioned the "fly by". A few years ago I was at a store looking at something near a door. A young man said really quickly as he went out the door, "Your hair is beautiful". I am 60 & my hair is past my waist & silver. I was totally caught off guard & didn't even have time to say thank you! So i guess that was a fly by compliment. Made me feel good! 😊
