By far the quickest way to test the loom is to earth the pin on the switch

Hi Simon thank you for your comment everyone has different ways of testing looms / circuits this way works for me and it still achieves the same result 👍

@Simon, In this case, then yes, just earthing the back of the oil pressure switch would have lit up the light and proved the switch is at fault, however, if there are multiple faults (bulb, loom, faulty +ve from ignition switch), and this is an old bike so could have plenty, then you have to check it all the way through.
Don't forget the oil pressure switch is hidden away inside a bit of engine case, secured with old rusty bolts, so checking the easily accessible parts first does makes sense.

@@juststeve5542 I'd always go with load testing Vs a meter on thing like this .

Hi Steve thank you for commenting on my channel as per my video I’m working my way through the different sections on the loom and having no oil pressure light to me is very important to sort out 1st I’m not concerned about indicators / horn / lights ect they can wait as they are not needed yet I will just work my way through each mechanical / electrical section of the bike and if they don’t work be it electrical or mechanical then I will test out
