Part of the reason succulents are so popular is because of their ability to survive in many different types of climates. Not only do succulents survive in many types of climates, but they also survive in climates that are considered harsh environments to grow a plant.

Beautiful arrangement. The cactus looks to be a Trichocereus hybrid of some sort. Peruvianus or maybe Pachanoi, torch cactus (not too sure). Thanks for showing.
Could also be a green variety of pilosocereus.

Very nice succulents arrangement. It is just like flower arrangement but it does no justice to the plants as there is no space for their growth.
Yes, I was thinking the same way too. I have collection of succulent plants that I want to transfer in large round containers. I want them to grow and spread out happy.

Man, I had a Ghost Echeveria just like that which died early last year. Sad day, but I got a beautiful picture of it with little water droplets on it.
Do they have room to grow when they are so close to each other? I just made one but put lots of space between the succulents.

i love all your videos. I had a question about watering succulents and succulent arrangements when we are away from home. Because of my work I will be away from my home for a month. And I am located in Japan, where we have summer now and my succulents are sitting in my south-west facing balcony. Usually I water them once every 5-7 days as their soil dries out between this time. But how to keep them hydrated when I am not around for a month? Thank you once again for your videos :D
I love cactus and succulent arrangements!! But the Old Man Cactus will always be my favorite, I had one back when I was in Junior High School and so it just gives the warmest childhood memories, lol, something that's pokey and I relate to my childhood odd but so awesome. I have to say I was cringing watching you touch those cactus' without gloves, yikes I can't do that I have had them in my fingers way to many times they hurt and the smaller ones hurt the most and are so hard to get back out of your fingers, ouchy!!

That super vibrant turquoise green pot with subdued khaki and lime green plants.... I think there's sometime to say here about using overly vibrant glazed pottery...
I like the way you have a front with height towards the rear. My problem is, I get plant tilt over time from the sun. I prefer something you can rotate to prevent tilt. I put height in the center, but equal rocks and plant sizes all around. I hate to dig up my stuff once established. 🍀🌿🌾🐀🐾

How does the amount of sun affect the succulents color?

It's a very attractive arrangement but also a very crowded one. With fertilizing and watering the plants will grow and there is absolutely no room for that. How long before this arrangement starts to look overgrown and out of control? Not very long I believe.
Mountain Crest says to keave 1" from edge of planter and leave space in between plants for ropm to grow. It looks too full. I think, anyway.
They a very pretty, how much do each plant run about? And can I buy two at a time and plant them as I purchase them? Please get back with me? I'm a beginner, what should I start out with?
Thanks I have a pentagon plant tub into the centre of which goes a parasol so this gave inspiration for a big bowl in there packed with succulents half buried in gravel the tub with a sort of river of little succulents, some larger ones dotted about with a few pebbles in there its almost like a mini desert rockery garden but it ended up looking really good. Im in the UK.

Do all succulents need a drainage whole? I sometimes see succulent arrangements at store (whole foods) and they don't have a drainage whole. Is it absolutely necessary?
Is it ok to use Fish Emulsion for fertilizer? I too love this pot.

Idk if you’ll see this but I’ve been looking for the species of a cactus it’s just one giant leaf that is kind of an soft teardrop almost oval and the little spikes on it are very short I can’t seem to find it’s name anywhere

I JUST purchased this exact planter at HD. I bought it purely because I thought it was SO pretty. I've had my eye on it for a while. So, then I thought, "What should I put in it?" It looked like the perfect pot for a succulent arrangement. But I really don't have any experience with succulents (in fact, I don't have much of a green thumb at all). So, I came to TH-cam to see what I could learn. This was the first video to come up! With the same planter! Now I can't wait to fill it!
